I'm not sure why Hasbro couldn't give these guys torso articulation. You have Jada Toys given their Ken figure a flexible gi similar to Cage with very functional articulation with it on/off. It seems like so many companies are afraid of the torso. Other then that it looks great. Alt heads in different hair styles would have been nice. Alt arms would have nice with a removable shirt.
I agree. Jada are new to action figures but do a better job than Hasbro. Also Hasbro seem determined to muck up ball joints. One at the base of the neck and one in the skull (if done right) would be great for nuanced posing.

9:06 That’s extremely disappointing. Especially when either Dwight, Ryan or Dan (I think it was Dan) a few months ago said this Luke Cage would be a large figure. And Luke Cage is supposed to 6’6” in the comics (the same height as Thor). SMH
Sweeeet….September! Great review Dan, this looks like a great classic Luke Cage, we just need a Classic Iron Fist and ideally some modern versions of both! 👍
I remember reading Luke Cage Comics when I was a kid at the barber shop. Yes sounds like the 50s but it was a small town. Excellent review as always! This is my favorite channel!
His short and boots look waay too glossy. Lile they're made out of pvc (yes I know they probably are on this toy) and not cotton. It's a better sculpt than the terrible Hyperion reuses or the gangly Toy Biz.
Quality review. Figure looks nice, and I really don't mind the lack of ab crunch or having those armpit gaps. Just wish consumers could have gotten another expressive head sculpt and/or finger pointing hands.
I want iron fist on the comic Shang Chi body with the baggy pants, and a new Danny with a big collar on a purpose made body. Nothing flat like the pizza spider-man
Not great, not bad. I’m already wondering which WWE figures I can swap body parts with to “improve” this guy. BigE has singlet mold, who has dark skin, bare chest? Also, you don’t have the Netflix Mike Colter as Cage? I’m pretty sure he had a red and yellow shirt variant, and the yellow came with Rosario’s Night Nurse character. (Hello, Ahsoka!) (Maybe that’s why I immediately went to WWE? One of those guys had a figure who was almost identical to Colter! Ore than a few subbed him in when they couldn’t afford the two exclusive Cage’s you showed.) And no mention this guy is where Nicolas Coppola got his stage name? 😂
Looks amazing but, with no ab crunch, at least give it boot articulation. Again, Hasbro missed a good opportunity to make a good figure. Thank You Dan for another awesome review.
Great looking classic Luke Cage! I was in Grade school when this character made its debut in Marvel comics in the 70s! This really brings back memories Mate! Thank you for this most excellent review ✨✨✨🤓🙌🏾
This Luke Cage suit has the same problem of Emma Frost Astonishing suit. To be accurate using plastic, figure articulation/posability is sacrificed. Emma's solution would be a fabric cape, not sure if for Luke Cage it would be the best solution. Maybe a wired t-shirt, I don't know. The gap in the arm joints are something they could solve with a yellow paint. Not the best solution, but it would work. Nice review as always!
Not a big fan of this look, I like more his look on The Defenders, this is a very especific figure for people that remember his time as Power Man. On this review I can see that the hands of both Blade and Luke are too small, same mistake of Havok.
I'd really like to hear from the Hasbro guys why some of the figure get boot rotation and others don't it's kind of like they're just pick it out of a hat. Much like the extra hands 🤷
In the comics he's supposed to be 6 feet and 6 inches tall. I put him next to not too bulky figures and he just too small. He should've been the size of the retro card Hercules
Exposed armpits are a serious illusion breaker! Why did the “geniuses” at hasbro cast a bare body when the man has a yellow shirt covering 80% of his torso? Makes no sense…
It’s absolutely ridiculous. Even when the arms are hanging at his side in a neutral position, you can see it. Using an overlay here was a terrible design decision, no doubt driven by cost. I just can’t with this line and it’s inconsistency anymore.
@@tomfin-wo5vc imagine waiting 17 years for an iconic character, expecting all the advancements in articulation, and getting a freaking doll in a plastic shirt that has holes in it. It’s a joke. All they had to do was break up the torso sculpt by adding an ab crunch and butterfly joints. Then stick a collar piece on it and paint the flesh tone. But no, they’re too cool for that. Right guys, they’re so cool. Am I right?
Not sure why Hasbro went cheap here. Obviously the budget was lean for this figure to happen. Yep: Needs an ab crunch. Yep. Neads an angry extra head. Yep: needs calf cut for movement. Still, it's the best Power Man figure so far. It's THE Luke Cage as far as I'm concerned.
It would be great to get a Luke Cage single release with a look from this century. The whole Blaxploitation look is completely played out. Cage hasn't looked like this for DECADES.
He started off as “Luke Cage, Hero for Hire”, then Marvel decided to call him Power Man and even had him battle Erik Josten (aka Goliath, aka Atlas) for the name. Eventually, it just became Luke Cage.
When an irresistible force (my desire for an updated ML Bronze Age Luke Cage) meets an immovable object (one of the worst design decisions I’ve ever seen in 22 years of collecting Marvel Legends).
I need retro Iron Fist, Misty Knight, Colleen Wing, Blade, Bill Foster and modern Echo and Shang-Chi. Hasbro historically does characters of color and women so Misty is probably one of the worst examples. We have to wait for YEARS to get different versions or A VERSION.
This design for his shirt seems completely pointless. I don’t think Hasbro understand the appeal of soft plastic clothes. It’s meant to hide articulation points. Why would you make it a soft plastic if the body underneath is static? And why would you bother making it soft plastic if you’re going to have large slits in the shirt anyway, to make room for the sculpted articulation? They made the same mistake with that disappointing Miles Morales figure this year. If I was THIS concerned about articulation lines breaking the design and less concerned about the articulation, itself, I would buy a statue. Just sculpt the figures. It’s fine.
The toybiz marvel legends version of power man is still superior to this new Hasbro power man due to its articulations and thats what counts at the end of the day so i disagree . In which version is better .but new hasbro version is accurate to the classic 70s and 80s comics . You can stil pose the hasbro new version but its just a little limited . Its all about fun and imagination.
that luke cage powerman headswap was a nightmare unlocked as far as the figure a big disappointment like taking away articulation as if having deep v neck shirt hinders leaning forward i mean really now theyre gonna use that mold again like we need shirtless characters to have a seamless torso to showcase abs what a joke 3/10 for the first classic cage from hasbro come on hasbro make iron fist with the same torso so you wont break up the dragon tattoo wankers
I’m predicting a blue pants Luke cage iron fist 2 pack in the near future

Been waiting for Luke in this look for years! Sweet Christmas, he came out great aesthetically.
Man, the ab crunch and arm pit issues have me questioning this. Especially the arm pits. Looks freakish. Dang.

Glad to see Luke Cage back in a single card release!
I'm not blown away, but its good.
to bad hasbro couldn’t color the pits yellow to make it less obvious of the gap. especially that side profile.

It's ok Hasbro will make us buy another Cage with a screaming head or something dumb to get that updated Danny in some 2 pack
Same thing with the animated Doc Ock, they could of totally gave him a proper ab crunch
Those armpits epitomize how crappy Hasbro really is...not to mention no ab crunch. Canceled my preorder
A figure I want, but will be waiting until it gets soooo cheap… ‘cause it will!

Wow! That Misty Knight figure is awful... She definitely deserves better.
I think he kind of scales a little small. He should be taller than Cap and Iron Man. The design is dope, though, already ordered.
also i love that invisible woman is hiding in the background... or wait is she lol ;-P
No idea what your talking about 👀
Looks amazing but, with no ab crunch, at least give it boot articulation. Again, Hasbro missed a good opportunity to make a good figure. Thank You Dan for another awesome review.
They should of gave him alternate bare arms and made the jacket removeable to have shirtless Luke Cage.

for blade how about the full hair red shade head swap! that was missing from the blade review.
We gonna get a Jessica Jones figure so Luke Power Man Cage can have his lady .
He looks great but I’m can’t believe the lack of ab crunch. Crazy. I guess he’ll be in a vanilla pose.
I see you, Invisible Woman. Are you looking for Craig or Crystar?
I'd really like to hear from the Hasbro guys why some of the figure get boot rotation and others don't it's kind of like they're just pick it out of a hat. Much like the extra hands 🤷
i actually dont have any iron fist figures which saddens me. i am really looking forward to this classic luke cage..
Yeah i thought mine was just stuck and refused to believe he doesn't have the boot swivels but i guess its confirmed 😢 i mean why.. 😢😢
Best superhero fig update in a longtime.... 🥇.
Keep em coming..
Oh and some Luke Cage villains Hasbro 🙏
🍻🌞
A great figure 👍.
I remember Power Man from the Ultimate Spider-Man series (2012)

Such a waste. Been waiting so long just to get limited and boring figure. And this gaps on 5:38 are so bad for the character that throws punches
I feel he should be bigger and wider? 🤔

Good review but The deficiencies that you showed on this Power man, has really turned me off to this figure.
Not sure about that one Dan, because of the arm pits, that’s sloppy, I prefer my toy biz version

Meh maybe mafex will get around to a luke cage or mezco hopefully
Oh man a mezco to go with iron fist would be amazing. This outfit Luke cage they would kill

I think I’m more ok with the torso than those visible armpits lol
::Attention:: just a heads up both my IronMan and Luke came with right leg
Yeah I’ll be passing on this figure. I really wanted this Luke cage but the lack of ab articulation is a no for me

Hmmm. That whole torso situation, and the armpits is disappointing, probably gonna still get him but cmon hasbro, no bootcut too wow

Lack of ab crunch, no angry yelling head and him not being as tall as Thor and Retro Herc who are 6'6 & 6'5 respectively is total BS.

This Luke cage is the similar size to captain America - that means he is too small. Easy pass
This wave is looking like a downer so far imo…another clearance figure unfortunately
Comparing him with other black characters. lol wtf
For no reason in particular, here’s War Machine and Black Panther! Don’t forget Blade! 😂😂😂
