    Really has the settings, Keep you busy all day wondering if you have it set right. Pays to watch tube video's, not just the setting but what IS GOING TO BREAK and will need to be replaced. Go ahead and buy the upgrades and replacement parts, Keep them handy. Great detector for the "Smart crowd" Impressive.

    Thanks for those tips Steve. I’m still finding my way around my Nox 800, which I’m learning to love. I have so far been on 3 digs with it and found a few decent items each time. Incidentally, I live in the UK, but have fond memories of detecting for gold (with a Minelab)in Western Australia, that was back in the 1990’s - those were happy days, especially as I found a few nuggets!

      Thanks for your comment Anthony. Sounds like you're doing well - I'd love to visit the UK one day and do some detecting. It would be so rewarding finding old hammered coins, Roman artifacts and other interesting items - so much history! Good luck with your future hunts!

    • @coilsandcoinsdetecting
      @coilsandcoinsdetecting  Рік тому

      Both machines are great, however I'd probably consider the Equinox 800 over the 600 as you have more control over the settings once you become more experienced with the machine. I'm also very tempted to get the Legend, and for the price and performance it's a very good option.

    When do you charge your machine ? if if not using it much or if you turn it on and it has 2 bar? also how long do u find it takes to charge up?

    • @coilsandcoinsdetecting
      @coilsandcoinsdetecting  10 місяців тому

      I usually recharge after about 5-6 hours of detecting. It takes a couple of hours. For Lithium type batteries it is recommended to leave the device at about half charged if it’s going to be stored for a long time without use. Leaving the device for long periods of time with a fully charged battery can cause battery damage.

    I've found that coins (same type) lying flat can give different numbers than those on their edge so you will be missing stuff

    • @coilsandcoinsdetecting
      @coilsandcoinsdetecting  Рік тому +1

      True! Coins lying on edge, or with other metal objects adjacent, can give very strange (different) signals, that's for sure. Coin spills (stacked coins) also give some strange signals!

    Hello, I have a Vanquish 540 and was considering getting an equinox 800 or 600. Could someone please tell me why there is 2 detecting modes for parks, beach, etc? Any replies greatly appreciated.

    • @coilsandcoinsdetecting
      @coilsandcoinsdetecting  Рік тому

      Hi Bill. Each mode is configured differently so as to subtly alter the frequency weighting, sensitivity, and response. In park and field modes, I found the second setting much more sensitive to smaller objects than the first mode. This meant that in areas with many targets in a relatively small area, such as a popular park, the first setting is cleaner and makes the larger items like coins stand out more. With the beach modes though, Beach 1 is set up for the dry sand, and Beach 2 is set up for the wet sand and in the water. Personally, I always hunt the beach in Beach 2 mode, as it picks up deep targets no matter whether you’re in the dry or wet sand, and you can move around the beach without needing to change your settings all the time. Hope this helps. Good luck!

    How many milliamps is your battery Bank that you recharge your equinox with

    • @coilsandcoinsdetecting
      @coilsandcoinsdetecting  2 роки тому

      Mine is a 10,000 Mah power bank, but you can get 20,000 power banks and they’ll be fine too. The detector only charges until full, and then trickle charges after that, but I’d suggest disconnecting as soon as the battery is fully charged.

    What settings go the deepest?

    • @coilsandcoinsdetecting
      @coilsandcoinsdetecting  6 місяців тому

      High sensitivity (without the machine chattering), low to medium recovery speed (3-5), slow swing speed, 11” or larger coil, dig repeatable targets, experiment with iron bias settings, but start with 0. Good luck!

    Your backlight is on during video, to save power you should turn it off. JK I did learn something, the factory reset of park mode only was great. I wish I knew this before, Would have saved me time and lost finds.
