People be hating on this because it's an EV and for no other reason, stop being childish and be grateful we aren't still stuck in early 2000s design philosophy
• They're more expensive to insure, and are ruled as Totaled over slight fender-benders due to being incredibly expensive to repair (replacing the batteries cost tens of thousands). • If the battery catches fire, it's impossible to put out. Lithium-ion doesn't require oxygen to burn and the batteries are in waterproof containers. • EV's are self-contradictory in the sense that they're supposedly "Green Energy" yet the manufacturing does irreparable damage to the environment. I guess those genuine concerns are "childish".
What is this "stop being childish" comment all about? Don't be so arrogant and talk down to people like that. That car sucks big time and you know it... 😏😅
Honestly these cars are made for luxury, not driving fun. Being an EV is actually better than gas for them in every way (well maybe a small gas generator would be best for less range anxiety).

@@Zipfei_Kloatscher Oh sorry, I forgot that "this sucks and you know it" is a valid and totally not childish argument for everything these days. I'll make a bet that if you drove one of these you wouldn't have any more complaints than other vehicles like it, ICE or EV. It's objectively fine.
Very interesting design the car has a lot of rounded edges and that transitions to the inside of the vehicle as well, lots of rounded edges in the interior, do like the color it looks very interesting 👍👍👍
It’s a small thing but I’m with you on the key. It’s clever in that it has the logo, but function is more important and they now have the emergency physical key separate. Some people won’t even use it if the phone as key has been implemented well. But a fey fob should be all about ergonomics and a feeling of quality.
The Ioniq 5 needs to be refreshed like this. This at least has some physical climate controls, and doesn’t have those god awful Haptic Touch buttons on the steering wheel.
Have you checked out the 2025 Ioniq 5? All nice real buttons on the steering wheel just like this 9. The climate control remains a touch screen, but they added physical buttons for the heated seats and camera. I think they added a couple of other physical buttons too. I’m a fan of a climate knob so that’s one way this Ioniq 9 beats the 5 with controls.
I’m a fan of the boxy EV 9 so I’m surprised at how much I like this. I love the green and Volvo rear end. The boat like curve of the roof also appeals to me. Not sure how I feel about those wheel wells. I think the interior is mostly fantastic. I’m very impressed by the Koreans.
You can join the IQ 50 club and call it a Volvo rear, or you can distinguish yourself among the herd and see it for what it is. The Rear brake lights extend all the way across the top of the boot, making it a near seamless upside down U. There's just a slight break on the top edges of this light fixture. THAT IS NOT a Volvo rear dude lol. You and a million other simple minded onlookers think so. Like I said you choose which side you belong to.
@More_Row I understand. But the car culture is still alive. Better enjoy it as long as it lasts. Bcs liberals gonna make every car ev and we'll be basically driving some computers. Oh wait we won't even be driving anymore those are self driving
@@More_Rowi always laugh at all those weirdos who cry "why doesnt this car have adaptive cruise control!?" Like wtf? People have gotten THAT lazy to where not having ACC is a deal breaker for them. Unbelievable

Really? Well I'm glad I'm not going this year haha. I went last year and it wasn't all that either as most European brands didn't show up. One of my favorite cars was the 2026 Prelude.
Wish it looked more like a ioniq 5. Im sure the roundness is for aero and that’s so important for ev range, but it looks more like the Kona’s big brother
Wow I love the Green SEL one but absolutely hate the Silver Calligraphy one. The Calligraphy looks dated and like a funeral vehicle. The SEL looks sharp with those wheels and that color. Wheels can make all the difference and it really does on this vehicle if I can say I hate the Calligraphy but love the SEL all because the wheels and Green color change the whole look of the vehicle. Also love the Green interior coloring wow!!!
The jealousy of Volkswagen and Toyota dealers is evident in the comments. Good job Hyundai!!

It has Walter white car vibes form breaking bad 😂.
Very different, beautiful and impressive!!! Nothing like it.
Pretty nice! Looking forward to full-scale production
6’2 passenger fits back to back to back all the way to the third row easily. Just gotta adjust the seats
Futurisic old school Volvo wagon from the back, love it

I no longer love cars, i don’t like the trend of turning them all into heavy tech gadgets on wheels

Hi Charlie, from the Daily Motor Channel. Glad To See you Back,on TheTopher Channel. But, slight correctiojn. It's NOT 025,. It's 2026.
That looks sick
Wow BMW made iDrive8/8.5 really easy to copy
Charlie, There was not a lot happening at the LA Auto Show this year.

I thought the flat battery floor of EVs will give them significant interior space advantage over ICE?
Cheap yet expensive looking wow
Reminds me of a late 2000s dodge durango
Looks like a minivan without the functionality
bro the design is shit it is like gmc or Cadillac plus it is like box type
I wish it was a pentagonal dodecahedron!!! 😡😡😡
@@C0okieman2009did you just describe.... Optimus Prime?
Yeah it looks garbage i would personally take some minivan over this
First
It looks so weird
What a downgrade from the Kia. Looks like a hurse
The problem is the interior. It still has that cheap looking silver plastic. I had the same plastic on my elantra 15 years ago.
Still think the silver is better than gloss black plastic atleast
Looks like shit. How does this already look outdated?
Funny, was watching morning news and heard hyundai, genesis and kia are recalling thousands of EVs. ICE ftw.
Looks like a Cadillac SRX and Volvo 850 wagon had a baby. Yeah no. Just a copycat design. What happened to Topher's voice? 😂.
Much rather have substitute topher. Sorry but I can't stand that Charlie guy.
It’s Charlie
To me this vehicle blends the worst of 90's retro with 2020's tech. I just don't like it.
Looks like a Volvo but way more extremely ugly
