Lionel Richie wrote this for him, and Kenny credits him right at the beginning of this performance. You should definitely listen to Kenny's song Coward of the County. It inspired a movie and tv series etc. And also, try listening to The Gambler, if you want to hear more of Kenny. He was amazing, may he RIP.
If we all work at it very hard, maybe people will come to our funerals and speak of us the way they spoke of this man. Just maybe. Kenny, America's great gentleman.
I'm a 74 yr old Canadian lady who just loves listening to you young gentleman reacting to different genres of music. Keep up the great work. Respect to you.
Blessings from Toronto Canada and yes I love them also but sometimes they need to be a little more quiet when the song is playing😂😂😂😂 happy 2024 I also am a senior I'm 68
Old white lady here- I have misty eyes right now. Watching these five beautiful young men challenging themselves to opening their minds to music which crosses generations, genres and cultures just makes me so damn happy. You’ve gained a fan today💕🥰😘 Oh, also- try listening to Kenny singing “Ruby” when he was a member of the pop group The First Edition. It’s a song which gives the perspective of a wounded Vietnam War Veteran. I think you’ll love it!
@@barrydlewis7768 The likely assumption is the songwriter’s reference to “Crazy Asian war” was meant to be Vietnam. This song was first released by Waylon Jennings in 1967, during the time US combat units joined in the Vietnam war, 1965-1973. The US was involved in the Korean War from 1950-1953.
As a 66 year old black man, this is for the old white woman and the 74 year old white man, I was listening to, Jim Croce, the Eagles, Bobby Darin,Chicago, the Who,the British invasion bands,Elvis, I love me some Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, motown, classical music, jazz, and I am a 66 year old black man from the ghetto, my sister and I are only two years apart, but I praise her for taking me to the community center in the "Hood" and for turning me on to all music,oh yeah 😎 I love the Steve Miller band, and the females voices of the sixties especially Janis Joplin, Cher, their voices still give me chills.✌💙
My dad was the biggest Kenny fan, but who wasn’t back then? He’d play his songs on his guitar and my two sisters and I would sing along with him when we were little. Kenny’s always been a favorite of mine because he reminds me of my dad, who passed when I was 13.
Never imagined Kenny Rogers would get all your attention that you didn’t even pause it lol 😂 Much respect ✊ to a great artist of our time. I grew up with my mom playing his albums while we cleaned up the house. Great reaction guys 😎👍🏾

You all deserve a pat on the back for exploring all genres of music. This is definitely one of my favourite UA-cam channels, but please introduce yourselves so we know who is who. You guys are being enjoyed worldwide, I’m in Australia and think you’re all great 🙌🏻
Really enjoy your reactions to the older sounds of my generation. I believe the 60s to 90s were some of the best sounds ever. I hope you continue to explore the vast library of musical artistry that I grew up on and love so much. It’s amazing to watch handsome young intelligent men appreciate talent as much as you do. Thank you most kindly. ❤
I danced to this song with my wife 33 years ago at our wedding. Still gives me chills when I hear it. Thank you Kenny Rogers and Lionel Richie for this masterpiece.❤
Kenny Rogers, RIP, passed when Covid started, but had a great life. The voice of a master story-teller. Best buds with Lionel Richie who wrote this song and also recorded it himself nearly 20 years later. And as others have said, The Gambler is really his definitive song.
Lionel Ritchie and Kenny had a great friendship and Lionel was crushed when Kenny died a few years ago. Kenny was a huge heart throb back in the day and I could listen to him sing all day long without getting tired of him. He was a very humble & kind man.
My mother dedicated a Kenny Rogers song "through the Years" to my father before she died at 36 years old. My father used to play Kenny Rogers a lot because it reminded him of her. He finally joined her and passed away 32 years later and two days after the anniversary of her passing away. So Kenny Rogers always reminds me of my parents.
I'm one year shy of 70 years and this song still bring chills and moves me to tears when I hear it. My husband and I fell in love to this song and its genre. We've been married 37 years. I love watching your reaction to so many different styles of music.

You should watch when Kenny brings Lionel Richie on stage and tell the story about how the song was made and they sing it together. It's beautiful to watch their friendship on stage.
Kenny Rogers fit pretty well in the country genre, but if you go back far enough, you'll find his rock roots. Check out Kenny Rogers & The First Edition for the song "Just Dropped In." It's a classic.
Lionel and Kenny were great friends! I love Lady! Lionel Ritchie is one of the greatest songwriters of all time❤️…and Kenny one of the greatest voices! Rest In Peace Kenny Rogers✝️
I saw Kenny Rogers in Atlantic City, on the Boardwalk, when his band was “Kenny Rogers and the First Edition”. Nobody seemed to know who they were, (I DID!) and I was blessed to be standing right in front and was thrilled! This was around 1968 or 69. Loved him since I first heard his voice!
Kenny was helping Lionel during a rough patch. They wrote this song together in my sisters house. My nieces went to school with his youngest daughter Sophia! Lionel was so upset when Kenny died recently! Lionel is getting a special American icon award is the AMA’s this year. So excited for him!
No matter your musical style, genre and alike. Play this at the end of your 3rd date and you'll be walking down the aisle in no time..........class, pure class.
Kenny was originally part of the First Edition rock band before going solo. They had some great songs in the 60’s and 70’s like Somethings Burning, Just Dropped In, and Ruby, Don’t Take Your Love To Town. They even had their own tv show I remember watching every week when I was a teen. They were funny and played great music.❤️
Kenny Rogers was one of the best. As a singer, a person, an entertainer... I could go on forever. Rest in peace, dear and sweet Kenny. Thank you for gracing the world with your greatness. Love you forever ❤️

Didn't expect to see you guys react to Kenny Rogers, and if I did I wouldn't have guessed it would be "Lady." Great singer, corny at times but good at what he did and could moisten every pair of panties in the house when he was really on. This was a weird time in music when country, r&b, and soft rock all merged into a blob of inoffensive romantic mush. A lot of it was cheesy but some beautiful songs came out of it.
Please, PLEASE react to Bobbie Gentry (woman) and her song Ode' To Billy Joe. You will be in awe of her voice!! Old video, she's sitting on stage with her guitar and singing. Another request: Tracy Chapman's songs Fast Car and Give Me One Reason. Good stuff!
