Yes! And Leontyne is pure magic, absolute legend. Dion... Precious and gifted, face of an angel. And Cissy is known as the best backup singer ever, Elvis loved her. But Nippy was perfection, the epitomy of music.
Dolly wrote this song and she made it a number 1 hit back in the 70's and she said straight out... Whitney did it amazingly. The only song I thing Whitney did better was the National Anthem at the Super Bowl... no one has ever done it better than Whitney... I get chills listening to this and her doing our National Anthem.. I cry.
Whitney's Super Bowl performance of the national anthem gives me chills every single time. She and Céline Dion are the most beautiful female voices in American pop music, IMO.
I'm always glad to see young people enjoying music from another generation. I'm sad though because it's no music like this anymore. The 90s and 80s...and beyond
It still makes me so sad that she left this world so tragically. I was obsessed with her from the moment I heard “The Greatest Love of All”. There will never be another Whitney Houston! 💜
The first time I ever heard Whitney Houston it was 3 am and I was trying to sleep in my room, when I was hearing some music to sleep, the video finished and greatest love of all started playing. Bro it was so magical, my heart was never the same after that night. Specially considering the fact I was struggling with everything at that time.
An abuser stole her life... nearly every drug addict was abused as a child.. it's a way to cope. Some people just eat... some abuse drugs and/or alcohol.
Her family and their greed. They were supposed to protect her and instead they all fed on her. Her mom blamed Bobby for her cocaine problems when her own brother introduced her... she was abused by a female relative, etc. She was a heavy smoker and that is what hindered her singing later. So much stress, so many demons, and so few people that really cared about her and not what they could get from her. So annoyed by all the "movies" about her.... let her rest and peace and stop trying to continue to profit off her!
I lived in her building in Ft Lee, NJ from 1987-1989 ... I was only 10 but we'd see her all the time. I remember she radiated with beauty, energy and grace. She was a star in every sense of the world, and I'll always remember hit genuinely kind and beautiful she was. Her downfall was really difficult for me to watch, and very unexpected.
@@sheissunshineexactly. He didn’t introduce her to nothing she didn’t already know. They enabled each other, sure, but she would’ve had addiction problems with or without Bobby. The smoking did affect her voice, you can hear it on her comeback album. As good as that album is (I have it), you can absolutely hear the change.
Her rendition of the National Anthem at the 91 super bowl is considered by some to be the best ever. If you haven't seen it you should. Another song from this movie is I Have Nothing which is amazing as well, of course.
Nope. There will never be another Whitney. Her voice is just about as close to perfection as you could possibly get. Nowadays, most singers sound great on a mastered record, but you wouldn't want to hear them singing live. Whitney’s voice .. 😔 is something generations from now will say how lucky we all were to have seen her bless us all with her voice. God bless Whitney ❤always!

What astonishes me is that she keeps ratcheting up the power and intensity of her voice, but from a bit more than a whisper to belting it out at full power, her voice is as pich perfect and astonishingly beautiful throughout the song. Simply amazing. A once in a lifetime song.

Whitney was always will be remembered as a class act. Her voice was absolutely amazing. There are a lot of wonderful singers for you to listen to. Try Australia's Delta Goodrem sing her song Heavy, Delta is a singer song writer, she is ridiculously beautiful and talented. She has had cancer when she was younger and then had another health crisis more recently when the nerve to her tongue was damaged and she had to learn to speak again. Yall should do her national anthem video. I'm a professional singer who hits high notes with the best of em....& ain nobody could touch Whitney when she was in her bag. Her voice had EVERYTHING a singer wants. Power, strength, range, perfect tone, perfect pitch, runs, differentiality (meaning, singing live, she was able to sing the same line repeatedly but nvr doing it the same way twice), grace, natural reflection capabilities, ability to switch head to chest voice at a split second, constant vibrato, breath control....letting her hold notes a crazy long time....she was THE GOLDEN VOICE.

Live is always better. It's the rawest, realest form of music regardless of genre and if it were up to me bands and artists wouldn't record and just play live. Obviously that's not possible it just sucks what gets lost within the recoding booth.
Whitney Houston was a legend in her own right beautiful singer beautiful lady don't even go there.😢 Rest in peace.
Whitney’s voice .. 😔 is something generations from now will say how lucky we all were to have seen her bless us all with her voice. God bless Whitney ❤always!
This was written and recorded by Dolly Parton in the early 70’s. Dolly has said how great Whitney’s version was. RIP 😢
This was one of the first mainstream movies with famous actors playing interracial love interests. I'm glad it was Costner. It broke barriers that people take for granted today.
I always consider whitney houston the queen of Soul and RB. Bravo for my queen ❤❤❤✨✨✨
❤❤ Beautiful Whitney, beautiful voice , so powerful, so sad she's not with us anymore 😥. Have you heard of Etta James , she's an old singer and her song " At Last" is amazing, definitely had a voice ahead of her time. If you haven't heard this song please listen.
Her voice is so gorgeous, this song makes me cry every time. What astonishes me is that she keeps ratcheting up the power and intensity of her voice, but from a bit more than a whisper to belting it out at full power, her voice is as pich perfect and astonishingly beautiful throughout the song. Simply amazing. A once in a lifetime song.
You guys if you haven’t already listen to Whitney singing the star spangled banner please do. Ive never have heard anyone in my lifetime sing it like her RIP Whitney
One of the most amazing voices ever. Her aunt is Dionne Warwick, another beautiful voice.
Dionne is actually Whitney's cousin. I thought she was her aunt at first also. Dionne said they were cousins and Whitney also.
@@queenjetblack2647their moms were sisters
And the opera singer Leontine Price is also a cousin. So singing is in her blood. On another note, can you do female Friday, where you spotlight female singers?
There will never ever be another voice like Whitney's. So much tragedy in one family. 💔
Whitney’s voice is amazing, I can’t get over how her singing gives me the chills.
Her voice is as smooth and clear as glass. Having an interracial love story was such a step forward when this movie came out.
She always gives me goosebumps. ❤
You can look at these women and see such beauty and listen to them sing and hear an angel sing, but sometimes it all comes at a price to these talented women. RIP Whitney you bought so much pleasure to us with your singing and deserve to be singing with the Angels.
That's the Preacher Wife movie Denzel and Whitney was both in ...
Kevin Coster speech about Whitney is very touching ... RIP to a legend Whitney Houston 🙏
Watching so many guys run from camera because they knew she would make them cry is FUNNY.
Awesome artist.
She was the Most Beautiful Female Vocalist EVER! ❤️✝️🙏 I loved her and cried for months after she passed away. Rest In Peace Beautiful Whitney Elizabeth Houston ✝️
Where do you guys live.....under a rock??????.?
Beautiful voice. Such talent.
Another amazing, entertaining, emotional reaction. Wow, I have tears.
I'm near Lake Tahoe right now where those lake and snow scenes were filmed at Fallen Leaf Lake very close to Lake Tahoe.
Whitney, your voice 😭❤
You guys learned, I think, watching Elvis videos, that Whitney's mother, Cissy, was part of the Sweet Inspirations, back up singers for him.
I feel like I've been to a party watching y'all! 😂
This once beautiful soulful woman did not need a studio to sound good. She sounded just as amazing live. One of the best female vocalist EVER!!! Dionne Worwick was her cousin, another famous singer back in the 50's to the 90's that had a set of beautiful pipes as well.
Man the tears run free listening to her angelic voice.
