The music is by Ennio Morricone, Italian musician, one of the greatest authors of soundtracks for movies, he got a Lifetime Achievement Oscar in 2007 and another, Best Original Score, in 2016. Ennio died last year. RIP!
Denmark is a country of the arts. I was Blessed while serving in the U.S. Army to visit Copenhagen. While there I went to a performance by the Royal Danish Ballet. I saw “Romeo and Juliet”, sitting next to an elderly couple who flew in from New York just for the performance. Amazing, simply amazing.
This is the main theme and finale to my favorite Western, starring Clint Eastwood, Lee VanCleef, and Eli Wallach. The finale of the film is one of the coolest gunfight scenes I've ever seen, a true classic.
The music is by Ennio Morricono for the movie “The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly. Clint Eastwood who is the good, Lee Van Clef is the bad and Eli Wallach is the ugly. It is one of the definitive spaghetti westerns song and movie
Ennio Morricone composed some of the most memorable pieces of music. So underrated. He also scored A Fistful of Dollars and for a Few Dollars More. They were made in the 60's and were called spaghetti westerns because most of the movies were produced and directed by Italians.
One of THE most respected film composers, of all time. Widely known worldwide,, worked with the best directors, one of the most influential composers of all time. 6 oscar nominations, one oscar win plus an honorary oscar, Grammys and golden globe nominations and wins. Countless compilation album releases, and books written about him. Was still performing to sold out stadium audiences world wide into his 90s, still composing too.......how the hell , do you justify saying that he's underrated? Because you have some friends that dont know him?? What do you mean!!?.
From the movie of the same name, the last in a trilogy starring Clint Eastwood. These three movies made Clint internationally known. The first two movies are called A Fistful Of Dollars and For A Few Dollars More. Some consider The Good, The Bad & The Ugly to be the best western ever made. The director's cut is near an epic 3 hours long!
XD I'm always shocked when young people have never heard an absolute classic piece of music, but I'm glad you enjoyed it so much, Mate. Thank you and as always take care of yourself, Mate
The second half of this is a piece called “The Ecstasy of Gold”, The character of Tuco is running through a grave yard looking for a name on a headstone. Metallica also uses this piece of music in their concerts. You really have to watch this movie now!
No one told you at first what this music is from. It's a very famous work by Ennio Morricone from a famous Italian Western film with Clint Eastwood. There were a number of Westerns made in the 70's and they were nicknamed "Spaghetti Westerns" This is a very famous work.
Absolutely beautiful isn’t it, especially when you get to see how the song is made. This song is iconic, the movie is iconic and Clint Eastwood is an icon. You’ve got to see the movie while this song is playing. ❤
Imagine that, a piece written about the American Wild West - by an Italian composer... and performed by The Danish National Symphony Orchestra! A beautiful performance - and so was Your reaction to it, my friend!💕 (As the drums are playing, I can literally picture horses [gallop...] in my mind's eye...🏇🏇).
The "Man with No Name" trilogy is a masterpiece in Spaghetti Western films. NEVER thought this was around, amd it's a beautiful authentic version of it. And I've NEVER seen a female conductor, let alone one who is so stunningly beautiful let alone talented!
2:39 Can you imagine being so good of a composer, that you can listen to this music and say to yourself "This is almost perfect, but it just needs 'clappy sticks' ". I am in awe of the talent required to create something like this.
The part of the guy who plays the flute is meant to mimic the scream of coyotes in the desert. The second part of this performance is called "Ecstasy Of Gold". It plays at the end of the movie when Tuco has found the cemetery where the gold is buried and he's frantically running around trying to find the right grave. It's one of the most beautiful piece of music ever composed for a movie.
You must watch this movie😊😊😊Sergio Leone and Ennio Morricone were the best duo in the movie history ever. Ennio Morricone was the greatest movie composer ever in my opinion.
This concert was so amazing. I watched it on Danish TV when it was on. You wouldn't regret it if you were to watch the entire concert, much of which is on UA-cam thankfully. :)
The Masterpiece of Ennio Morricone!! For us that first heard this music in the movie - we will always feel the grit and dirt of that wonderful movie! The Movie AND The Music goes so well together!
You watch the movie enough times and you can replay it in your mind when you hear this Ennio piece. Blondie, Angel Eyes and Tuco made this movie great.
The 2nd piece (4:12) is called "Ecstasy of Gold" and is heard in the movie when Tuco (Eli Wallach) is running through the cemetery frantically searching for a grave where the treasure is buried. I especially love the exquisite interlude at 6:02. If you haven't seen this great classic Italian western it is highly recommended.
I have stumbled over this piece many times on YT, and it never, never gets boring. Great music starts with a great composition, but this never fails to leave me with goosebumps.
Long pat near the end is the background for the 3 way gunfight. That part is known as The Ecstacy of Gold. See videos of the composer conducting his own version of these themes wih a opera singer he has performd with in concerts all over the world. mny of these are currenlly on Utube. ttly on Utube
Ennio Morricone, the goat in my opinion. His songs played live are amazing, even when there's another maestro conducting. Shout out to Danish orchestra too. It's all about good stuff!!
It was a standoff between 3 guys I was 10 years old when my mom took my Brother and I to see the movie. Now I am 66 years old and still love this movie and music.
My brother-in-law purchased this album way back in the late 60s when this movie came out, I was out their house a lot and wore out that track on the album! Loved it. Never heard it performed live, that was great!
FLAWLESS! Epic song for an epic movie. The music is so textural. I swear I can feel the south west terrain, cactus, tumble weeds, rocks and sand, crooked dry trees, a gun fires, the crack of a whip, a distant stucco church bell rings, the gunslinger rides into town and time stands still. A whole story was told with musical instruments, the singing was an instrument. I bet this performance would freak out Mozart. Makes me wish I could time travel and show some people in the past what we've been up to. When I heard this I got on Google trying to find a concert like it. These musicians are super pros. Even white plastic hammer guy had to be perfect. If he was off by a thousandth of a second we would have noticed. And that piano part sounded like a river. I'm watching this again to hear the song. See if the piano sounded like a river or a looming sandstorm.
You said the best thing about it was how it paints a scene of like, two gunfighters in a standoff in the wild west. I think it's fair to say that in fact it paints an entire movie, which culminates in a standoff between not two, but three gunfighters. Those three of course being the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
Greetings from Denmark. We are proud of many things in our country, and the Danish National Symphony Orchestra is definately one of them. I am so pleased you liked their performance. And what a great theme! The movie is legendary. Love your channel - so funny to watch your reactions :-)
This was composed by the very amazing Ennio Morricone who was famous for helping stylize the popular film genre commonly known as “Spaghetti Westerns”. Coined from the director and composer’s Italian heritage and the famous Western flicks they created/composed. Absolutely top tier indeed. Right up there along John Williams and Hans Zimmer!

Fantastic reaction. I'm glad you appreciate good music. I'm already planning to see them... My ex is German (now my best friend), and I live in the UK. I will fly to Europe if necessary. I will also hire a Tux for the occasion and beautiful dress for Claudia. Some things have to be done properly
It was the theme tune to a Clint Eastwood western myovie...The Good The Bad & Ugly! Your right JV that's the exact scene! He made the poncho so fashionable !

Reminds me of buying the ennio morricone album many years ago. Played it so many times the grooves were worn out. Glad I came across this again, keep up the good work.
@1:25 (or around that time) You asked what that instrument is, well it's an Ocarina. You've likely seen it before that is, if you ever played the Nintendo game, The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time. I was going to buy my kids one many years ago. I though they'd get a kick out of it. Then I saw how much a proper Ocarina (Not a Toy) cost, and well I didn't buy one because they are expensive.
What a great reaction to this amazing orchestra with a masterpiece of music created by Ennio Morricone. Thank you Jayvee and please continue with your great election of the world of music 👍

The reason that just this orchestra playing it is everywhere is because when Ennio Morricone toured all over the world playing his best compositions they were according to him that did it most justice and performed it like he did it 60 years ago.
