@@shb0018 I've never played this game but the best changes to the remake are as follows Maps should have a capacity of at least 4 players (5 if the native Americans are to be added as a new faction) The ability to capture opposing technologies by way of capturing opposing builder units or units that trains builder units that allows the player to take control of all 4-5 armies at the same time
I know this is super old, Derp, but you saved me tons of money and efforts. I bought the game on Steam and it was kind of clunky, and then I found this video by accident. This version with mods is much better than the original.
all versions can work fine, the one on Steam will work if you use the GL wrapper that makes it work on modern OS's + ideally if you move the installed folder to a different directory. Always glad to be of help.

This so called game of the taking of the Alamo is not accurate. --- the outer front wall wasn't in ( Bits & Piece's.) --- there is a documentary showing that there was an outer wall at the front & sides there wasn't stockades on the outer front wall ,it was the long barracks ,which a Part still stands. the only stockade was at the right hand side of the mission building as shown here. ---- * there is a replica of the whole area at the time of the Battle. ----
the wall is in bits and pieces because parts of it were blown up by artillery. otherwise, this model of Alamo in the game is almost an identical 1:1 copy of the real one, based on contemporary maps. there are some minor differences due to engine and budgetary limitations, but it is more or less as faithful as can be in a video game.

i bought the game for this battle but it really was a let down. the rest of the game is great but the battle of the alamo didn't play so well. the cannons set the place on fire, walls disappeared, etcetera.
Beautiful game. Video games with historics thematics were the reason that I become historian.

In AC:DN, there are some singleplayer missions with the very limited vestiges of AI, however, this isn't one. The enemy here doesn't have any AI
