You know, I kinda want this to be a PVE shooter game. A Helldiver of sorts. but instead of different planets, you fight on different fronts (terrain and map diversity). I'd love to have a "persistent terrain" mechanic, where players destroying bridges, doors, walls, buildings kinda remain in those states over an offense, and then when you need to defend the strategic points. Where control over long lines permeates the "resources", advanced weapons and gear you can actually bring with you, spawn on map or made accessible to the AIs. Mortar, artillery would have their positions attacked, defended and even moved by the player base in stages. with every week having potentially a lot of progress won or lost. Players defending positions and building on those would reinforce and slowly rebuild infrastructure that would have been destroyed. Available maps and missions would be "crafted and catered" by the team of devs, and the players would influence the flow of the planetary siege ^^
would be interesting to see a full re-enact of the entire timeline within the game too. so that it would take close to 6 months to complete it. instead of it being like a 80hour game time, make it 1x slower than real time. so that it would take a dedicated period of time of like half a year to complete even the smallest part of the games objectives. Consider it. 17+year siege war game....takes 8 years to complete the game. (full, from start to finish, all major objectives, minor objectives, visiting every part of the battlefield, taking part in ever major and minor offensive, etc. 8...years....of gameplay, nearly a decade to beat the Siege of Vraks. think how freaking awesome that would be.)
