Krieg was probably at the bottom pile list of the plethoras of the unimportance. They most likely thought that Krieg was not that valuable to put too much effort into, and just let whoever there is available over there sort it out themselves. It’s like that tiny pipe leakage and you just thought “Yeah that look fine still, I’ll patch it up tomorrow” and tommorow turned into next week, and into next month, and before you know it, you goes “Oh SHlT, didn’t realize it was leaking that much!” and you quickly decided to plug the leaking hole up with some dirt, hope and duct tape. That’s what happens when you have more than 4 Quadrillion humans, Millions of planets and tens of Millions of colonies, under the Imperium. That’s a lot of corpse starches.

Irony is a very common 40k thread. The most secure vault in the universe is sealed with the final lock being the knock "Shave and a Haircut, Three Bits." Even today, the name of the jingle is rarely known, in the 30th or so millennium when the vault first becomes important, it may as well be arcane knowledge.

You know, I’m just pondering about it, when your home is the one and only thing that is stopping the entire forces of demons from flowing out and buttfking every single one of your relatives and then to the rest of mankind, while splitting the galaxy in half, yeah, I would probably want every single citizen counted for. No man nor woman are non essential personnel, not a single soul can be idle even for a second, every children would start shooting their first Lasgun at the age of 7, get their first basic military training at 12, and be stationed at 16. Imagine how our planet Earth in our timeline would be like, if all 7 Billion of us are soldiers with our entire planet dedicated into being just a giant fortress, instead of International Space Station it would be a giant cannon that beam sun-like laser into the void, instead of the Artic Station it would be humongous turret that shoot hiroshima-sized nukes into the stratosphere. That would be astonishingly scary, just imagine the sense of unity and patriotism, all for the same cause of fighting against the forces of chaos and warp daemons. Yet, despite all of that, Cadia still fell, but the Guards didn’t 🫡
I truly believe that Krieg might be one of the most strategic planets in the Imperium, citing certain 40k content creater "Krieg does not produce soldiers, it procudes armies"

Granting the ability to leave for 3 days is wildly more reasonable than anything I’ve ever heard in 40k
this channel deserves more attention and praise than what it's getting now. I've binge watched this and siege of vraks and being completely out of any Warhammer40k lore, it got me hooked.

I have a couple of things to say: 1, I did not know that literal Nukes existed in the 40k.
2, Of all the planets, why were the nukes stored on Krieg?
Its dark age of technology tech. when and why it was stored on Krieg nobody knows.
Ye nukes aren't to uncommon in the imperium in general, they're mainly used as one of the lighter methods of exterminatus

No wonder the empire most of the times just sit its ass waiting to see what happens when reinforcements are requested. It worked like wonders with Krieg. Instead of another random hive world they essentially got an elite soldier factory in echange of nothing
Well the issue is that was a rare case of lucky success.
Ususally, you get a dead or ravaged world, that you need to painfully rebuild if it can even be done.
And if unlucky, you get a deamon world spewing chaos and nightmares of the Warp on every nearby world
Krieg in its Hive World form was very valuable. Hive worlds in general are very valuable, they are already soldiers factory by default (because massive population = massive pool of recruits) but also gigantic factories for various products including wargear and provide good anchorage for naval ships. They are also mercantile hubs.
Inquisitor: “Alright, after a few hours of interrogation and some unexplained deaths, we find that you’re loyal and you’re suspicions are justified.”
Jurren: “Thank you. Will you help us out?”
Inquisitor: “Indiscriminately. We’ll bolster your army and send you back to Krieg. This should hold off the Chairman and Autocrats from making stupid decisions while we deal with them secretly.”

@@dukeleto7787 it's based on Krieg: A Death Corps Novell book, maybe there are some other earlier references of origin story, but book includes all this story too
Holy shit this feels too real, i never thought this type of video-essay-animation would ever go to 40k
I loved the book "Krieg", which contains this whole story and a current-time story about how the Krieg fight battles.
These videos really make the 40k universe digestible to those who are uninitiated thank you 😭
And so are born the death korps of kriegs birthed from the inmeasurable faith and loyalty of Coronel Jorten and the callous industrialitation of Archmagos Griel and babtise in fire and radiation.
Coronel Jurten might have lost a daughter, but he became the father of countless million of soldiers that will fight and die for humanity, the imperium, krieg, and of course the emperor.
I was gonna say isnt he basically considered the Father of all Kriegsman? Because many of the soldiers are cloned so Id assume him and his regiment were used as the genetic forefathers of the program.
@@chazbrown1139 Although I meant it poetically, In the first contanct with the imperium after the civil war the krieger idetifies himself has Coronel Jorten years after Jorten's death so there is a chance there are straigh up Jorten clones in the DKoK or that use part of his DNA so there is a chance that he is the literal father of the DKoK at a genetic level.
Edith there is also a chance that since Kriegers don't have a name when he was asked his name he said the only name he Knew Jorten.

@@chazbrown1139 From my understanding the Vitae Womb is not really a cloning machine (as in identical copies of a single individual), and more of a mass incubator where "test tube babies" are produced in truly industrious capacity.
So they wouldn't all share the same physical characteristics, they wouldn't really be clones at all, they would be the biological children of those who donated the reproductive material (sperm and eggs)

The narration on which the nuke has been release is astonishing and terrifying. I can almost see the traitor's faces when they first saw the mushroom cloud. Epic 😊
Imagine being the common infantry men that was a loyalist and then seeing the sun appear over the nearest hive city.
Currently listeing to the audiobook "Krieg" and it showed the pov of a traitor-soldier once those nukes landed. Yep, horrifying. He was the first one to report the missile launches.

That's the thing about wacky cartoon violence. Funny turns scary real quick when the silly green monster straps on an Acme rocket and flies at you screaming with equal rage and joy while swinging a cleaver the size of your torso and wildly shooting a gun that is simply not physically possible but is killing whole squads anyway.

Naming fact:
"Krieg" means "war" in German.
However the verb form "kriege" no longer relates to war. It instead means "acquire" or "catch".
So the world of Krieg, was consumed by acquisition of wealth.
Instead it caught a case of war.
I got so excited for a new video, but alas, I will watch the whole thing and make this comment for the God emperor of the algorithm.
The fact that “there are no soldiers on Krieg, only soldiers.” Implies that even children are on the frontlines😦

Krieg is a German word and means war. In combination with the WW1 esthetic of Krieg soldiers’ uniforms, helmets and gas masks, the similarities are striking.

@@BrBetim No. Its German uniforms (and knife), French-esque Helmet, British Gasmask and Ruso-American webbing carriages (the thing with the ammo pouches, where they carry the wound dressings and stuff like that.)
