Well the issue is that was a rare case of lucky success. Ususally, you get a dead or ravaged world, that you need to painfully rebuild if it can even be done. And if unlucky, you get a deamon world spewing chaos and nightmares of the Warp on every nearby world
Krieg in its Hive World form was very valuable. Hive worlds in general are very valuable, they are already soldiers factory by default (because massive population = massive pool of recruits) but also gigantic factories for various products including wargear and provide good anchorage for naval ships. They are also mercantile hubs.
@@KalashVodka175 Although in the case of Krieg the benefit is less clear. They had *massive* garrisons that were doing little other than be pawns in the balance of power between the autocrats. A huge fleet was stationed there which wasn't being deployed elsewhere. It had installed massive defensive installations to resist invasion despite the biggest "threat" being the Imperium itself. No doubt the tithe was considerable but there's around 32k hive worlds in the Imperium. Losing one in exchange for a planet that produces elite armies year after year might not be a bad trade...

I was gonna say isnt he basically considered the Father of all Kriegsman? Because many of the soldiers are cloned so Id assume him and his regiment were used as the genetic forefathers of the program.
@@chazbrown1139 Although I meant it poetically, In the first contanct with the imperium after the civil war the krieger idetifies himself has Coronel Jorten years after Jorten's death so there is a chance there are straigh up Jorten clones in the DKoK or that use part of his DNA so there is a chance that he is the literal father of the DKoK at a genetic level. Edith there is also a chance that since Kriegers don't have a name when he was asked his name he said the only name he Knew Jorten.

So they wouldn't all share the same physical characteristics, they wouldn't really be clones at all, they would be the biological children of those who donated the reproductive material (sperm and eggs)

I have a couple of things to say: 1, I did not know that literal Nukes existed in the 40k.
2, Of all the planets, why were the nukes stored on Krieg?
Its dark age of technology tech. when and why it was stored on Krieg nobody knows.
Ye nukes aren't to uncommon in the imperium in general, they're mainly used as one of the lighter methods of exterminatus
