Nope, there are many FW190s in the world flying however there is only one with an original BMW engine that flys. But this is the only one that flys in New Zealand.
The Flying Heritage Museum has an FW190A with a BMW 801. I know the engine runs….it’s one of the planes with pads to catch the dripping oil. I just saw it last week. I think they fly it occasionally. They also have an FW190D-13 with the Jumo. They specifically state that they don’t fly that one since it’s the only D-13 left in existence, but most of the collection is flyable….hence the name of the museum.
I would do that but even if I did it would still look the same if I upload it as a short because when landscape videos are uploaded as a short they are cropped to portrait because people watch shorts in portrait not landscape.
It FW-190 was very formidable in capable hands, but as a defensive, or tactical air superiority fighter - which this aircraft was designed for - my vote goes to either the Spitfire MkXIV or the Hawker Tempest - which outclassed the FW-190. 👍
Were these not a 'continuation' rather than replica? Serial numbers follow on from the end of war time produces airframes, and made to the same drawings?
@hans-1940 ...and the most punishing conditions on its pilots - no recognised length of "tours" before being "tour-expired" and "rested." German pilots just flew until they were shot down or suddenly found that they had miraculously survived the war!! 👍
I’m pretty sure there’s nothing different it is a new build so not an original from WW2 as far as I know. But I’m pretty sure it’s all the same as it would be back in 1940s.
Nope, this 190 is powered by a Shvetsov ASH-82. There are only 2 airworthy 190s with original engines however only one of them flys. The other 190D is apparently to Rare to fly.
@zacsawesomeworld2767 yes I know about the D9, flyable but too rare. As for myself I don't like compromise but appreciate the rarity of some engines prevent the flying aircraft being stock. Even so an A model shortness with the original engine type is far more valuable
The only BMW I want
You should see the real Mercedes BF-109 mate 😂
"The butcher bird"
Würger
hardest beat of the 2nd world war
...but beaten nevertheless by the Spitfire Mk.XIV and the Tempest. 👍
awesome looking aircraft
One awesome bird. That radial sounds like it has some horse power.
It’s a very fast plane for it’s time, especially given it’s aerodynamics where sub par compared to most other fighter aircraft from the war
Lol I can hear each individual cylinder fire
That’s funny 😂
It’s amazing, I love the sound of this plane
I heard a lot of older warbirds do that while they wait for the engine to warm up, its just in a really low idle
Only flying example? Beautiful beast

At the Classic Fighters Omaka 2023 air show. Each time this started up, people wearing hats usually had to chase after them. I was one of them...
Sounds like a bag of bolts, give a Merlin anyday!
NAILED IT!! 🤣👍
The noice of inertial start ❤
Turn the camera (phone) to landscape next time so we see the whole plane.

..😳... The engine idle is the idlest I have ever seen...
bmw built quality
Fantastic plane.
Bf 109 g6🎬
Beautiful aircraft!
Bellissimo
wow
Arguably the best all around fighter plane of the war

Looks more like a messerscmitt bf109
Einfach geil 😊😊😊😊😊
Where's the meat ? Now the butcher bird has awaken ....
Were these not a 'continuation' rather than replica? Serial numbers follow on from the end of war time produces airframes, and made to the same drawings?
I don’t actually know the answer to your question but I reckon they’re a replica because they’re powered by a Shevestov ASH-82 rather than a BMW 801.
@@zacsawesomeworld2767 does that mean a Hawker Sea Fury or Tempest ll running a P&W instead of a Bristol engine is now a replica?
Again I do not know the exact answer to your question but I think it would be considered a replica.
The green heart on the aircraft is the sign of the „Jagdgeschwader 54“ . They destroyed nearly 10.000 aircraft.
Correction: "Claimed as destroyed."
@@tim7052 Yes, there are probably more aerial victories. Germany had the harshest policy of any nation for recognizing aerial victories.

What’s with the seats? Something looks different to me around the canopy

OMG TRANSLATION MADE IT BETTER/WORSE!
Thanks! Exactly which 190 version is this?
190A
Magnifique mais triste histoire
Is that how it’s supposed to sound? Seems like it didn’t quite turn over to fully on
Haven’t they got bmw engine
The original 190s where powered by a BMW 801 but this one is powered by a Russian Shevestov ASH-82.

All original?
I’m more of a d-9 guy
What once fought Allied aircraft now fights old ahe
Original engine?
This is a Russian Shevestov ASH-82 engine, not an original BMW 801.
Is that a full size 190 F-8?
Yup it’s a full size Fw190 A-8.
@@zacsawesomeworld2767 very nice 👍 😊
Mmm original engine?
Nope, it’s powered by a Russian Shvetsov ASh-82.
is it a replica???
It’s not an original from WW2 but it is a real FW190 just with a different engine.
@@zacsawesomeworld2767so it's a replica
There's only 1 fw190 that's original and air worthy in the world
@@corydunaway technically not true, 190D13 in Washington but they don't fly it because it's so rare.
