Upgrading 2-Star Gem Abiding Curse from Rank 8 to 10 | Diablo Immortal

Join me in upgrading my 2-star legendary gem Abiding Curse from rank 8 to 10 in this Diablo Immortal playthrough. As I do so, I will temporarily replace my rank 6 4/5-star Chip of Stoned Flesh with my rank 8 2-star Abiding Curse - so I can slot it into my Main Hand Weapon, which had been awakened using Dawning Echo way back when I used to have a rank 10 Everlasting Torment.
When you have an awakened equipment, its awakening powers will be disabled if you slot in a leg gem that is not yet rank 10 (in my case, that's my rank 6 Chip of Stoned Flesh with 540 resonance bonus). The awakening is re-enabled if you slot back in a rank 10 gem (in this case is my Abiding Curse with 300 resonance bonus).
I actually thought the awakening power is quite a significant power boost, but when I tried it on BG - with 240 resonance deducted my total resonance - I felt a lot nerfed or weakened. I am currently at 3390 resonance when all my 5-star gems are equipped, and I go notches down at 3150 when I equip my rank 10 2-star gem. At 3150 resonance, I am easily beaten by a 3360 resonance wizard named "Bear," which wouldn't normally happen when I am at 3390 resonance. I did not record the said BG match.

P&C and BR, I heard from colleagues, are some really nice gems that they want to upgrade to rank 10 as well to replace some of their 5* (which are less pragmatic to upgrade to rank 10). Good luck, and more gem power to you.

how many copies do i need for a two star gem legender

You'll need 40 duplicates + 1 original copy and 625 gem power for a rank 10 2-star legendary gem. In total, it's 849 gem power's worth (if you should ever decide to salvage it one day as gem food).

Update. I just upgraded my Mother's Lament, a 2-star gem, to rank 10, and the correct figures are:
-41 duplicates + 1 original copy
-681 gem power

Yes, as gem power and as duplicates. From rank 8 to 10, need ko pa ng 21 duplicates and 345 gem power. :)

For F2P, you'll never go wrong with Power & Command (2 star) and Everlasting Torment (1 star). If you can - and if extreme luck allows - make sure may Blood-Soaked Jade ka (but it's a 5-star gem and it's the most expensive and it takes time to be able to craft it for pure F2P).
There's this great wizard named ZergElite in my server who started with these gems, if memory serves. (He now changed to more advanced gems, so my memory might differ a bit.)
1-star gems
-Everlasting Torment
-Trickshot Gem (if you use channeling skills a lot)
2-star gems
-Power & Command
-Fervent Fang
5-star gems if you'll be lucky enough
-Blood-soaked Jade
-Seeping Bile
The idea is to have 2 gems for each star-power category.
