I started decluttering home, my clothes, jewelry, dishes,etc. January 2022. BUT 22’ was NOT a very good year😔 my best friend of 43 years, passed away in May, my Mother in law passed in August😔. So not much decluttering got done. I made a lifestyle change with my health and weight starting January 2021, as of today I’ve lost 127 pounds. So Poshmark has helped to replenish my closet. If I bring in 3 new pieces I get rid of 3 pieces. Same with shoes handbags, etc.
If you add home items to your inventory, start with lightweight unbreakable small items such as linens, wood decor, etc. Home items take up a lot of space, require more packaging and are hard to bundle due to weight and size. Plus you need to learn a whole new set of brands and features. It's a lot of work!
It was a small gesture but when you talked about Angie graduating and having your kids home you motioned your hands to be close to your heart and it was so sweet to me 🥲 as a mom of two young boys (newborn and 4 year old), I’m sure you love having your adult kids home for the summer!
I started watching your videos after the "over consumption" video caught my eye I would like to thank you as that video was exactly what I needed at that time, and I related to basically everything you said. You have inspired me to declutter my ebay inventory as well as my life. I have a long way to go, but I have come a long way. Thanks for being an inspiration!

I could have written this video lol I am feeling exactly the same. You and I started reselling around the same time. I thought it would be a fun hobby in my retirement from office work for 35 yrs. I love fashion and shopping! I discovered Poshmark and thrifting and really enjoyed it in the beginning. I spend hrs at the thrift stores. I also used Thredup alot back when they were a great place to send my designer finds to.... But thrifting has taken over my pretty little retirement home in Florida with no basement or extra space. Time for me to put on the brakes and clean out. I will definitely have a thriftless February maybe longer! I need to have my house and garage back. I've loved reselling but I can't handle the mess any longer. Downsizing my Posh closet and rethinking my "hobby" in 2024! Happy New Year 😊

My goals are to stick with my resell budget and to get to a higher sales average with minimal out of pocket. I’ve been working on cleaning out my house and clearing out stock ❤
Inventory systems can get so complex and time consuming! I have not taken the plunge to change yet, but I really don't have issues with finding my inventory. I have 1200 active listings and just sort and label them by bin by category. I.e., pullover sweaters, cardigans long sleeve tops, short sleeve tops, jeans, non jean pants, leggings, athletic tops, intimates, bags, wallets, sneakers, heels, sandals, tall boots, ankle boots, coats and dresses are hung up, mens are in their own bin~I don't have much mens. etc. I'm keeping it as simple as possible for me!

Hi Lori! You mentioned American Girl dolls, I know that's not your mainstream but that's how I found you! My daughter wanted Kit for Christmas, so I started researching used, found you, and not long after a doll closet full of AG clothes on consignment. Having seen that video, I knew to grab it! I was able to sell those outfits and pay for her Christmas AG things❤🎉 (also my first try at selling myself online!) Watching her fall in love w her doll has been beautiful (we are now hunting for Ruthie 😂). Anyway, I'm a vote and a benefactor of AG content! You selling, how to sell, tips, history, comparisons, All of it!
Definitely going to minimize in 2024 ..it feels so freeing and great ..! To sale items but be more specific and discerning on items .. and also just live with things that I love in my home but things that I truly need ..!

Thank you for all your info. I started reselling on Poshmark about 2 years ago. I have managed to avoid many fails by watching UA-camrs like yourself who try to educate as well as sell. As soon as I learned about the sku in PM “details “ I started using it. I currently have over 1000 available listings and I could not survive without that system. I add bins as I need them and pull bins once a month to review and cull them. I also created a unique inventory system for shoes ( which number about 250 on average) that has worked wonderfully.I am a one woman operation so I have to be organized to survive. I have no social media presence, but understand the boost it might give to my closet. Still weighing the time factor and if I want to make changes to accommodate that. Also, worry about allowing the public into my world. Thank you again and Happy New Year 🎉

My best sell so far with my largest profit margin was a Tiffany Lamp I purchased for $5.99 at a Goodwill in Murfreesboro, TN, while visiting my folks. Sold it for $300🎉😊!!!(ebay)

It would be so cool to see you do a video at the goodwill bins in gorham, maine! I live in Portland and haven’t been lately as it’s kind of chaotic, but what goodwill bins aren’t?! It would be wicked fun to see what you and Kim could find there. There’s also a whole host of vintage stores, goodwills, and a killer salvation army all around the portland area! (I would love love to show you the portland maine second hand and thrifting scene that would be a dream come true!)

so i don't think i understand your tote system. say, If you have a new red sweater that comes in, you just put it in a bin and then record that the red sweater is in Bin J (for example?). You don't label each garment in each bin with an actual number? (Like: the Red Sweater is # 1345). Are your bins by type of garment (like all jeans in one, all tops in one, etc) or are they mixed?
Please don't purge your fridge and pantry and throw it away. Put it in a box and post as free on marketplace. Maybe someone would be happy to have it or eat it up! Food waste is a huge problem in western culture, contributing to the climate crisis.
