Indeed, everything about Sholmes' character is faithful to the original works, from the last minute deductions that save the day, to the dry, cold and sarcastic tone in his dialogue
In 2nd case of First Game on Ship. He gave Ryuusuke a Russian Newspaper, but after the newspaper was in Court Record. He immidiently said in his line: "You may need an interpreter to read that." That one line give me impression that he did know Ryuusuke is in fact not Russian. Poor Susato. Just imagine her seeing the two persons she idolises the most in the world put on this incredible, flawless performance. It'd be the best moment of her life.
This has become one of my favorite moments in the whole AA series. Not just bc the music is great and the scene is super satisfying, but also because it marks a great moment for Sholmes' character. This final deduction proves that while Sholmes can be prone to flights of fantasy, in the darkest hour he will pull through. Not only does he not make a single mistake during this deduction, but he's actually genuinely clever in provoking Strogenov to leak information on accident. Like when Strogenov says "Why would I try to protect Eastern stranger?" "Ah, so we're talking about the same man, I see. Good.". This whole scene tells us so much about Sholmes. He may joke around a lot and he definitely has horrible memory, but his success in this deduction leads me to believe that a lot of the mistakes he's made in previous deductions were either because he was intentionally teaching Naruhodo how to make deductions (or he was just having too much fun in his own world). When it really matters tho, Sholmes doesn't mess around, and with his trusty partner at his side, he might as well be unstoppable.
You know, I believe that what this scene means is that Sholmes was actually messing around with you, ALL THE TIME. The thing he says at the start ("No more games now") and the fact that it's simply a deduction segment with no correction proves that. Sholmes is still a mess, but his deductions were actually real. I liked that a lot, although I thought it was really funny that he was a clown of sorts in this game.
@@asbebers001 Sholmes is definitely both a dumbass and a genius, he’s not one or the other. Even in this deduction he thinks it’s been three years since last danced with Mikotoba instead of 10. He almost got the gang killed by distracting them from the time bomb, and he’s been known to forget that he solved cases only to immediately gather everyone and solve it again on the next day. He’s a fucking madman, but when it really counts, he has his strokes of genius come through, as we can see in the scene above.

After he remembered Master Gotts full name perfectly during that crackhead deduction in Holmes; Suite I am sure he just have selective memory, or he continues to pretend to forget stuff for the sake of it, rather than having bad memory!! I laughed really hard when he recited the full name of the Bohemian prince, it shows he does have really good memory. He's quite the man... if there's someone like Sholmes in real life, I'd be scared, frankly, if he's not a good man. Hahahaha!
What a legendary moment. The music is perfect, the tap dancing, Sherlock doesn't feel the need to boast and doesn't make any wild guesses or jump to strange conclusions. As he usually puts it, he's with his true dance partner.
Seishiro must've been sweating bullets and knows he's fcked. He was a fellow visiting student when Sholmes and Mikotoba became partners so he definitely knows how they solved mysteries back then

Man, I love this segment. As a Sherlock Holmes fan, it was so, so awesome to see Holmes and Watson work together - albeit not the ones you'd expect, but it's awesome.
This one scene elevates every other dance of deduction in the game. At first, in GAA1, you're led to believe that Sholmes isn't all that he's cracked up to be. As Ryunosuke, you're led to correct Sholmes' incorrect deductions, in an act two. All this time, you're led to believe Sholmes is just bad at what he does, but in reality, the issue is that he just doesn't have his trusty partner, ready to deduce with him. And this scene exemplifies the sheer chemistry between the two. So strong is their bond that they don't even need an act two. They bounce off of each other so fluidly that there isn't a single mistake in their deduction. You weren't doing Sholmes' job because he was bad at it. You were helping fill in the missing puzzle piece.
Probably one of the most memorable moments in the entire franchise. This segment gave me chills and almost tears to my eyes. The music, the dances, the no-nonsense deductions, all perfectly creamed together to create a masterpiece
This was SO GOOD! Where to begin? The upbeat version of the Sholmes theme (which I informally refer to as "Shomes's True Theme") is just pure joy. I like how Sholmes lets Mikotoba take the lead on deductions. I LOVED the moment at 6:00 where Mikotoba goes "I don't know how to approach this one" and Sholmes coaches him through it. It's just really familiar, comfortable, and collaborative. Totally did not see the literal dancing coming. . . so that's why it's called the "dance of deduction"! My favorite moment in DGS
The transition in 1:39 is amazing, seeing Sholmes serious was a treat. Oh but it doesn’t end up there, he just go and challenge Mikotoba how much his skill has improved, almost implying that Sholmes was always miles step ahead, even during their time when they worked together.
The moment I saw 0:50, I was like "OMG Sholmes is getting serious with this deduction." I mean, him and his partner doing a deduction together?! Are you serious?! Best deduction out of all of the ones I've seen in this game.
The moment Sholmes shows you he's been pretending to be stupid all along. The one to make you notice all those times when he was serious when it counted... but did so much more.
I think there’s a good chance that the theme that plays during the final Logic and Reasoning Spectacular might be one of the rare Ace Attorney themes to rival the Pursuit theme in terms of feeling climactic lol
SPOILER FOR THE CASE AFTER THE DEDUCTION; I feel like they did that on purpose to establish that anyone smaller than Jigoku could fit inside, so you could piece the case together
I've said it before and I'll say it again: This version of (S)Holmes is a much more accurate adaptation of how he was in the source material than a lot of the modern adaptations that depict him as this cold, calculated badass. He's always been eccentric, to the point of coming off as weird to others, but with an underlying, undeniable sense of genius. In that sense, Sholmes is far from a bad interpretation of the character.
When you saw the timeline comparison of THIS video.... it looks like Mikotoba deduce it in about 10 minutes, but with Sholmes only 10 SECONDS to figure it out... good Gracious as Mikotoba said it
Naruhodo's and Holmes' Logic and Reason Spectacular: Honorary JoBros from Stylish posing. Mikotoba's and Holmes' Logic and Reason Spectacular: To go further beyond Honorary JoBros
Fun fact: In the first deduction in the series, Sholmes claimed Pavlov was inside a suitcase, though it would be revealed Pavlov was disguised as the strange man and she brought her cat in the suitcase. Here though, Jigoku is actually hiding in his suitcase [and would be later found he smuggled Gregson's body in it], so that's a really clever callback.
When the 7 digit code appeared, I though "Wow, Sholmes has 7 letters!" And then "oh wait, it's a number code" And then the Strogenov arm appeared and I was "Wow, I was totally ahead of myself without really knowing!"

Imagine you think your about to get away with a crime and the detectives assistant starts tap dancing while incriminating you
The fact that Sholmes spent a wide margin of this deduction with his eyes closed is just plain cool
He does! That's cool af, and great job spotting that.
The moment he steps inside a crime scene he is already visualizing what happened
@@H4CKP4CKHAHAHA dude I just opened this video because I was reminiscing on this deduction, what are the chances
What a shame Susato wasn't there to see this deduction.
Poor Susato. Just imagine her seeing the two persons she idolises the most in the world put on this incredible, flawless performance. It'd be the best moment of her life.
Wasnt she listening?
@@hipersonicc9736 I imagine just hearing a vague tapping sound isn’t the same as seeing Mikotoba’s mad dance skills in person
Yes he was just training ryunosuke
@@asbebers001 Sholmes is definitely both a dumbass and a genius, he’s not one or the other. Even in this deduction he thinks it’s been three years since last danced with Mikotoba instead of 10. He almost got the gang killed by distracting them from the time bomb, and he’s been known to forget that he solved cases only to immediately gather everyone and solve it again on the next day. He’s a fucking madman, but when it really counts, he has his strokes of genius come through, as we can see in the scene above.
@@asbebers001 that was always something that played on my mind since the case on the ss burya
like, if this guy is a great detective, why does a fledgling lawyer have to correct him at every single step?
but the reveal that he is the everest of fuck-wittery leads you to reflect on his character and it makes perfect sense
Hahahaha!
"Serious Sholmes" might just be one of the most badass moments of this game
We ALL have to admit that Yujin has the best "KURAI!" In the history of Ace Attorney
Kurae*
What a legendary moment.
The music is perfect, the tap dancing, Sherlock doesn't feel the need to boast and doesn't make any wild guesses or jump to strange conclusions. As he usually puts it, he's with his true dance partner.
Seishiro must've been sweating bullets and knows he's fcked. He was a fellow visiting student when Sholmes and Mikotoba became partners so he definitely knows how they solved mysteries back then
"Ah, so we're talking about the same man, I see." is easily one of the most badass lines in GAAC
Had a smile on my face during this entire sequence. The whole game is just so undeniably charming, one of my favorite Ace Attorneys now
There was a Japanese poll of ranking the AA games and Resolve was second to Trials & Tribulations.
They really changed the combination lock to accommodate for Sholmes' name...
Best thing is I didn't have a clue on where the combination would be, until holmes said "dont move a muscle". Thats when it clicked. This entire segment was so well done, its criminally fucking good.
@@Timeward76 I thought the writing was to play off of the fact that Sholmes was an obvious presence and as a way for Jigoku to tell the Sailor who to look out for, until I realized that Jigoku was hiding in the Suitcase, because when you examine in before the sailor shows up, you see it's a 7 digit combination. Adter they revealed he was hiding in their. Everything fell into place.
The moment I realized Yujin was Watson I practically SCREAMED in joy!
Me too!!!!!
yes, this dance of deduction almost made me cry. the music, the two partners finally reunited, the fact that sholmes was just the biggest troll throughout the two games and was just proving naruhodo's skills... ugh i love this game so much
As a huge Sherlock Holmes fan, when I played this part two days ago, I was just having a blast, this is the sherlock holmes I know! he finally drops his facade and seeing him and "Wattson" together and doing this just fills me with joy
Man, I love this segment. As a Sherlock Holmes fan, it was so, so awesome to see Holmes and Watson work together - albeit not the ones you'd expect, but it's awesome.

Sholmes training Naruhodo: Kalm
Sholmes saying "No games now" and is serious: Panik

I got so hyped when Sholmes' said 'No games now.' and then the music started to play!! This is by far my favorite song in this series!
When Holmes finally shows his true fangs !!

Jk I know it's Sholmes due to copyright
@@Zoe-hb2oj its funny that i like sholmes more than holmes
Me and my friends shouted when mikotoba tap danced and we didnt stop shouting for the next 10 minutes :) Probably my favorite moment of the games!
2:06 At this point a couple people are going "Oh, shit. That's the Watson's voice in the opening narration!"
In English the narrator and yujin has the same voice actor. But, some people couldn't get it.
He really hit em' with "Just one more thing"
Would the Columbo series have been improved if the Lieutenant tap danced as he revealed his findings?
Trick question, it absolutely would've lmao
Just uhh making these for my own satisfaction..

This man's feet have been blessed by god
How the hell do I feel second hand nostalgia for the past of a fictional character
Just realized why I like the song so much during this, it's like the Hopes and Dreams/SAVE the World of GAA.
Jigoku: Damn, I didn’t know Yujin was a tap-dancer.
Probably one of the most memorable moments in the entire franchise. This segment gave me chills and almost tears to my eyes. The music, the dances, the no-nonsense deductions, all perfectly creamed together to create a masterpiece
Sleep: Why do I hear boss music?
Woke: Why do I hear tap dance?
ugh the way herlock refers to yuujin as DEAR IT JUST MAKES ME SO HAPPY I LOVE THESE TWO I WANT THEM TO BE HAPPY FOREVER
Might be the best ace attorney moment ever
2:09 is the moment this turned into a grand deduction spectacular
Nico's balls would be filled with so much hope when he finally arrives at this scene.
I love how sholmes closes his eyes for most of this basically saying i don't need to observe the scene anymore I've solved everything
For how brief this part is, it's such an awsome ramp up to the rest of the trial.
The music is great.
It’s amazing that after the first game I had no idea who he was, but then YOOOOO
First time I saw the tip-tap I lost it
The moment Sholmes shows you he's been pretending to be stupid all along. The one to make you notice all those times when he was serious when it counted... but did so much more.
1:42 with how genius Sholmes actually is, I'm convinced when he said it he was testing Mikotoba's "observational skills"
He definitely is, since Sholmes actually says that it's been ten years before they even begin their deduction.
Criminals of London shudder with fear at the sound of tapping feet.
mikotoba's tap dancing never fails to make me giggle :3 ehehehe :333333
Herlock Sholmes and Yujin Mikotoba are the Sherlock Holmes and John Watson of Ace Attorney! I love them!
I think there’s a good chance that the theme that plays during the final Logic and Reasoning Spectacular might be one of the rare Ace Attorney themes to rival the Pursuit theme in terms of feeling climactic lol
Sherlock swishes while Mikotoba taps. It's beautiful.
Sholmes: “the vessel parts for sea in minutes, no games now”
Mikotoba: *tap dancing intensifies*
The moment when Herlock Sholmes shows his true self
The tap dancing was hot tbh 🧍♂️
peak ace attorney right here
Holy crap, they even made it a seven digit code to make it Sholmes.
God I got so emotional with this final deduction.
Crazy how Sholmes is actually competent and is just testing Ryunosuke.
These 60 fps animations are so smooth
i love the deductions
The real question is how did a large man like Jigoku manage to fit inside that trunk lol
SPOILER FOR THE CASE AFTER THE DEDUCTION;
I feel like they did that on purpose to establish that anyone smaller than Jigoku could fit inside, so you could piece the case together
I just finished playing this game and I was so blown away by this part that I had to stop playing for a bit.

The fucking "tattoo" being the code was too much. Genius
On TGAA3 I hope there will be a real Dance of Deduction between Herlock and Ryunosuke too🥺
We need a Great Ace Attorney Investigations starring Sholmes.
Mikotoba is the true Dr Watson in this universe.
Susato: why does Mr. Sholmes call you babygirl
Yujin: let's change the subject
ngl i was kinda fangirling when this happened and idk if ive ever done that before
We need more of this!!! Who's with me?
Maannnn look this Herlock Sholmes, is the mann
This is where Sholmes show the trueful color of his logic and reasoning 🤣 couldnt be without Wilson no I mean Mikotoba Tapdance
damn they really added a reverse 11037 moment
When the 7 digit code appeared, I though "Wow, Sholmes has 7 letters!"
And then "oh wait, it's a number code"
And then the Strogenov arm appeared and I was "Wow, I was totally ahead of myself without really knowing!"
Sholmes: Time is of the essence!

The simple fact that Herlock Sholmes was SANDBAGGING the whole time because he didn't want to make the game too easy for us XD
This moment still gives me goosebumps god this game is peak
all these months since the beginning of the game, i thought the king of germany was an enemy
im so glad im proven wrong in the best way possible
I swear to God i need a game when it was 10 years prior to this with Mikotoba and Sholmes + other cast like Klint, Gregson, and maybe even genshin and seishiro where the last case IS the professor case - that would be wondeful
Jigoku: why im hearing final boss soundtrack ?
I was not expecting Mikotoba to be the Watson to Sholmes
When your Doc Partner is also a Legendary Tap Dancer.
You know him, you love him. Its none other than *Yujin Mikotoba*
He *really* doesn't want to embarrass himself before his old friend, it seems.
