- G'Day Prospectors and Gold Hunters, I hope this finds you well in these Wild Times (2022) !!! In this video I am showing you how to use Tengraph to locate Targets in your hunt for gold. You have to register for Tengraph with the Mines Department here in Western Australia to be able to use it, so please do a Google search of Tengraph and you should be able to navigate to the 'Registration' page. OK! So I give you a lot of information in this video, please have a hot or cold drink ready to assist you in absorbing what I have to show you. Ok OK! This is a basic search of Tengraph to locate places (Targets) to work in your search of that elusive gold nugget patch. G’day again and it is great to watch your latest video on using maps and printing out possibilities for sites to mine gold from the WEST AUSTRALIAN landscapes.
I also want to thank you for your generous gift of “pay dirt” you sent me in the mail which I received in the past weeks. I found a couple of small rough pickers in amongst the quartz/rock/dirt samples you sent. I had a lot of fun sitting in my backyard with my “gold pan” lol an old flat bottomed tin dish which I used with a large mixing bowl underneath to catch any water and sediments as I panned away to find my fortune lol.
Anyway, I really appreciate your time and generosity and thoughts you put into giving me an experience of panning for gold.

Great video I really enjoy the way you explain the steps! I would love a video on what geology, host rocks ( what the colours mean on the geo maps, faults and structures to help narrow down a location.

Great info mate . There used to be a government site called Mines Atlas Australia , it was unreal , but they shut it down a few years ago . I think because it was too easy to use , we can't have that happening now can we . 🤣. Once you found your targeted location , you just clicked Google maps , and kablamo , i loved it ..Pissed me off when they shut it down . Cheers Ned . 👍✌

Hi B-Dazzle ... Mate those chunks were detected with a 6000 ... That's what they are finding these days. Need a very 'fine' scale to weigh them ... You might get a stubbie out of one hehehehe Cheers ...

Hi Russell ... wow I'm surprised the Qid. government is so far behind! But ... It wasn't so long ago that you had to go into the Mines Dept, stand at the front counter and peruse all the maps to see what was open to peg/work. And the Exploration Licenses were drawn in different coloured pens, it got real confusing in some areas, the leases could be any shape, size ... was a nightmare! Cheers M8 ...

Thanks 👍 Chalky, yes Mate, that scale ruler is very crucial for plotting GPS co-ords in the bush. I know people that have been in the game for decades ... And they still give me maps at 1:40,000 ... And other odd scales, OK well you can use them, have to work out your own scale ... but give me a ruler! Cheers M8 ...

That was one of the best walk through presentations I've seen Mate 👍My partner builds the maps for Queensland geology I have literally thousands of topo geo basically any map that has been printed in Queensland to do with Queensland geology and mining the information I get from them is incredible!

That's really interesting. I live in QLD and have looked for something online but I could barely find anything of value. Nothing even close to TENGRAPH.
Are the maps publicly available anywhere online? or is it only available through the department of mines and energy? Or is it another department? It's been years since I've been to their offices I do remember they had maps there, but I was only interested in explosives at the time.

So much good information on the internet if you can find it. Just wonder how the old timers were able to find areas to prospect without trespassing on others. Reaserch is the key to so much now days not only for gold but for other minerals and gems.
G'Day Steve ... thanks for your comment. The Ole Boys were only allowed very small claims, I forget how much but like a house sized block ??? I'll have to check. But I suppose they would find out fairly quickly if they were trespassing ... Nothing like an angry miner emerging out of his hole heheee ... Cheers M8 ...
I noticed on the ten graph there were a couple other mines above Swede too and left a little that lined up with swede helping prove there’s a strike there hopefully Cameron will get out there and let us know if he finds anything great information in this video I’m not in Australia but the concept is the same for anywhere I reckon just different map styles I also scour google maps for old workings and I found a nice area in the superstition mountain range I’m going to walk in and check out after some drone recon (buddy has a 15k drone that’s going to help scout it first) there’s an old rock foundation and tons of work has been done at the area so gold is very likely it’s remote enough not many people have visited so I’m excited to explore it when I find the time 🤩 thanks for sharing see you on the next one 👍🏼👊🏼

Hi GR, many thanks for your comment and query ... Yes, a report is due every anniversary - It's called a Form 5 - Expenditure Report. Each lease requires a certain amount of money spent on it, luckily us prospectors can write-off our time spent prospecting. Plus fuel, consumables ... Rents and Rates ... It adds up pretty quickly. And ... no report - your leases goes into Forfeiture ... Cheers M8 ...

I suppose you'll have to wait until the live lease underneath is dealt with, hopefully surrendered ... then it's full-steam-ahead. You may know that an SPL doesn't work unless the lease has been granted for 1 year ... That's because the company has to put in paperwork at one year anniversary, and if you peg a Special, and they object, it goes before the Warden and he looks at the Expenditure Report to see if they have been working where you want to work ... Anyway ... Hang in there Mate, keep it dark ... Cheers ...

@@prospecting101 DNR will only LEASE you claim for 1 year, The smallest amount of land you can stake for a year is 40 acres, you can renew your claim but you have to do $200 worth of "work" to qualify, IE, a man panning for 8 hours is $50 toward your renewal, You can only renew the same claim for a max of 5 years unless you own the land, then you can claim it for as long as you own the land.
