Its great its working for you, i tried healthy keto and omad for around 9 months. I dropped a tonne of weight , looked anorexic , lost half my hair and then developed a binge eating disorder which got me back to my pre diet weight, and a bit more. ..The crazy uncontrollable hunger that happens when you go too far below your heathy body weight. Honestly what I learned from my journey is eat healthy , as much keto friendly veggies as you want, definitely cut all the processed foods, but im eating the natural carbs, eg bananas potatoes etc in moderation as well. and i love bread so i decided to eat that everyday if i want cos it makes me happy. Life too short to be miserable on strict deprivation all the time.

My first thought when hearing this video was, what good is having a long healthy life if you're miserable.
Now I do want to be healthy and I've adjusted my diet to mostly eliminate processed crap food (even if I like it) as well as sweets/sugar and grains (since those give me minimal pleasure for the metabolic cost) and try to find healthy stuff I like.
The thought of having a can of sardines as a meal makes me ill.
(And I'm trying to eat them a few times a week as they are quite good for you, but I'll choke down a can then eat something tasty immediately!)

Besides that I use MCT oil and some supplements. And I do a water fast. One‐two days in every two weeks.Or just when I feel like it (I listen and I pay close attention on what is my body telling me)

I just wanted to quickly share my story in case it might help someone. I am a 27 year old man and I have been doing keto for 4 months. I did not intend to lose weight at all since it wasn’t my goal but I ended up losing 2 kg.
Recently I started feeling hungry and couldn't understand why. I kept eating more and more but nothing changed I was still hungry 30 min after my last meal; I thought about my stress, electrolytes, sleep, hydration, and salt intake, but I couldn't figure out why nothing could satisfy me.
After some time, I realized that I simply wasn't eating enough carbs. Since I never weighed my food or monitored my carb intake, I ended up eating way less than I should have. I also never craved sugar. This lack of carbs was causing me to stay up at night, experience mood swings, eat a lot of calories and still feel like I hadn't eaten. It was a strange feeling !!
So, be careful you can be eating too many carbs but you can also be eating too little like me. Once I started checking my carb intake, the hunger disappeared. I don’t know if that makes sense…
Thanks for all your free help Dr Boz.

@@Nite-owlif you have to use electrolytes to fast then what is the point in fasting. I will only fast up until the point where my body can naturally take care of itself. What is the point in fasting for a year if you are going to supplement in order to fast. Stop fasting and eat proper food if that's the case. I call this electrolyte stuff ego fasting, like people who take pre workout just to workout. Why not just eat properly and then workout. All this ego fasting, makes no sense. People just trying to fast for as many days but then do it without taking anything but plain old water.

@@internal_force_fitness781 You are free to call it whatever you like. For the same reason I'm free to call you a clown. If you can't see the point in fasting, even with electrolytes then that's on you. As you fast for longer and longer your blood sugars will keep dropping until such times as gluconeogenesis occurs to keep the body ticking along, burning fat in the process. Autophagy also occurs and people have used this feature alone to great benefit. Autophagy (Eating self) cleans up all the dead/dying cells within the body, often including Cancerous or pre cancerous cells. There are many cases of people putting their cancer into remission this way. Calling something with that ability "ego fasting" tells me all I need to know. Your body would still require a certain amount of nutrients/electrolytes in order to prevent your body from drawing the needed nutrients from your own body and potentially causing damage. Long and short of it is this, you do what makes YOU happy and leave others to do likewise.

I do a bunch of cooking for the week on laundry day... Usually chicken of some sort, ground beef, steaks, some bacon. I cook eggs, wild salmon, and lamb fresh. Sometimes I'll have roast with the drippings but no veggies. I have some cold brew unsweetened coffee with my mineral water, and also sometimes enjoy whole fat yogurt with some berries or a piece of fruit (to help break a plateau).

I used to tiptoe around carbs, being sure to stay “low”, until I chucked it all and started just eating carnivore with just a handful of berries, 16/8 IF with one meal on the front end and a small snack like a hamburger patty or pork chop on the back. That works the best for me because weight control is simple, and I never get hungry.
