I click with my mouth instead of clapping. That makes a higher pitched sound which is easier to detect. Also, comes in handy when your hands aren't free.

There's annoying audio clipping at higher revs, you need to get it farther away from the exhaust, inside a backpack would be better, especially if it has an internal pocket in the upper portion of the main stowage compartment.

I think the best ways is to test it out at multiple places as not all bike are the same. Some bike may have thinner seat cowl or plastic. So better just try and error until you get your desired result.

My Duke 390 neither has place for a Red Bull can, nor for a Zoom H1 :(

What’s the input level on the H1n?

Hey, so I got a question.
I already have a ZOOM H2N and been using it to record the onboard sound.
The thing is, it's good for first couple of times. But for everyday use, mixing the audio MANUALLY is such a chore. Plus, the battery issues of H2N doesn't really help, as it's not rechargable.
Do you know if any WIRED solutions which can work without battery. And can directly Sync the audio?
    I have a GoPro 5.

If you sync the audio often it becomes an easy and quick task but I understand your reluctance. There is a mic adapter available for the Hero 5 so you can plug a mic straight into the camera and it will automatically record from the mic and sync it perfectly!

Hey man. Kuddos for replying :D Respect.
I can sync the audio in under 1 minute, so yep, it's very easy. But for someone like me, who commutes to work, using GoPro works wonders (added security as well). So that's why i am thinking of shifting away from Wireless Audio solution.
Have you got any suggestions for me about a wired Microphone? I have tried to search for some, but all i could get, was some cheap chinese knockoffs. I would really love to have some high quality HD mic, which can 'REPLACE' this Zoom H2N.
