Hi! That would obviously depend on what specialty you're applying for. If you're applying for Intel medicine, then the number programs you apply to would depend on what you want in the program and how strict your preferences are. In short, I recommend any IMG applying to IM to apply to at least 200 programs. This allows you to maximize your interview chances, and gives you more control when you are ranking your programs. Obviously the more the better but that comes at a steep cost. And if you certainly don't see yourself in certain programs, don't feel obliged to include them in your list.
