Hey doctor, thanks for sharing this is really helpful. I have a question please. now I am in my final year of med school and I got a position to do research at Allergy/Immunology ( asthma, sensitivity and that stuff) But I don't have a particular interest in that field, I don't see myself doing this fellowship in the future. My question is, would doing this one year of research( to support my IM Match) limit my future fellowship opportunities only to Allergy and Immuno? Can I still match into Card/ Gastro. Or that It is impossible to match in such specialties without research related to them.
@@Nabilo8501 You can 100% match in any other specially and your research specialty has no bearing on which specialty you pursue for fellowship. As long as down the line you have a research profile that supports your fellowship specialty interest you should have no problems
