Great video. When A cools off outside I'm gonna grab my meter and check my truck. I just replaced my serpentine belt, and instead of just replacing the pulley on the tensioner, I replaced the whole unit it was only $17 on eBay. Never have to worry about that again.

This is the only video that mentions disconnecting the battery first.

I had this same problem, I thought I had a short in the wiring somewhere and I couldn’t figure it out why I wasn’t getting a charge , I thought it was the ecm since the regulator is inside the ecm but ended up being the alternator, if it undercharges just pop the hood give the alternator a good wack on the front

How do you remove the tension with the bell? If the thing is not even moving I got it in there, but it’s not moving.

Agreed, this is a great video - but one question - when replacing the belt, it's much tighter than the old worn one. I've got the tensioner as wide open as it will go but I can't feed the serpentine belt over the tensioner pully. Any tips/tricks for that? Worried about using a screwdriver to force it (don't want to damage the new belt). I warmed it up in the sun.

My first thought was, is it the same length? Hold them together and see you'd be surprised how often it happens. Hopefully, you got it figured out!

I did get it figured but I felt dumb. I was trying to feed the belt over the tensioner. The better way is to feed the belt over the rounded fan pulley. I used a ratchet strap and a crowbar to pull and gentle edge it over the rounded lip. Worked great!
