- Hi everyone, today I'm showing you how to setup a Dubia roach colony. Dubia roaches are among the easiest roach species to breed for reptile live feed, due to their inability to climb smooth surfaces and slow movement.
I'll talk you through the whole Dubia roach colony setup process and discuss their care needs.
Hope you find todays video helpful.

I just got 6 to feed my tarantula's but I actually like them to keep as pets. The store has never sold them before. Thank you for this thorough video!
Did you end up keeping the wood shavings for them? Setting up my first colony this week and wondering if I should add some wood mulch that I have.
That was cool, Kit! 😃 What reptile do y'all have to breed food for? We had a Ball python and an iguana years ago.
Thanks Valorie, it started with bearded dragons years ago, then I got into breeding insects, Ball pythons are cool, we use to have corn snakes.
@@GrowWithKit Breaded Dragons are cute!🙂
I'm sure my missus would love me to do that 😂
😂
How do u sort the roaches, especially the babies, with the shavings?
Hi i wanted to know if they smell bad like crickets. I have a leopard gecko and all I give him is meal worms. I started off with crickets and that lasted one day bc the smell they gave off was outrageous.
They don’t smell too bad. Definitely better than crickets in my opinion. They also don’t jump and don’t bite
Is it normal to get maggots in it?
It can happen but you should remove any food before it starts rotting.
Yikes!! 😨😨😨
Sorry for the unusual videos. All the best 😊🌱🐜
