i dont understand how saying that radagon suck is a bad take Radagon comes off to me as the personification of how stale FromSoftware's combat has become. For the entire fight, you are doing NOTHING but dodging his attacks for what feels like 10 years, before you're able to punish him ONCE after all of that. His AOEs also have absurd range, which makes jumping more unreliable to use as an evasive manuever. When the fight begins, Radagon makes frequent use of melee combos throughout his first phase. Most of them can be punished with charged R2's, but make doubly sure that he's finished his combo before doing this. He can also use melee attacks that end in a ground AOE, which all can be punished to varying degrees. You can actually sneak a few quick hits on Radagon during the windups, provided you successfully I-frame the AOE in time Upon triggering his 60% health threshold, Radagon will do a foot AOE stomp before leaping into the air and landing again with an AOE slam. From half health onwards, all of Radagon's melee finishers will end up a giant AOE. This is also when Radagon gains the dreaded ability to teleport after every attack he does. Radagon's teleportation alone embodies all of the frustration I experience when fighting him, because it is the epitome of being hard for the sake of it. For as annoying as Hoarah Loux's AOE roars may have been, at least they didn't deal damage upon contact. With Radagon though, not only do you take damage if you're in the teleport's vicinity, but you also get stunned from it. This would be fine... if it wasn't for the fact that Radagon can come out of a teleport mid-animation and you just have to hope to Gwyn that it isn't one of his quick attacks. To make matters worse, Radagon has two different teleports: a fast teleport, and a delayed teleport. But the difference between these two teleports is so minuscle, that it may as well be down to luck if you avoid both of them consistently and The amount of visual effects that were flying on-screen throughout second phase was utterly overkill, and probably ended up having the exact opposite effect of what it was supposed to. I genuinely had a hard time seeing where Radagon was after all of that, and this is coming from someone with good eyesight. Radagon is a boss that is extremely style-over-substance and is a boss that I find to be severely overrated by the community. I feel the only reason why people even gush about his fight in the first place is because his theme is a remix of Elden Ring's main theme.
both teleports aren't that bad to deal with, you just walk away and react to whatever he does lol plus he has plenty of mid-combo punish windows like most good elden ring bosses (any grounded attack with long windup is a punish window)
Some of these takes are the mildest things I've seen in the community.
