What's funny is that all these encounters chalk up to miscommunication, misunderstanding, sidekicks being rude, or player characters being jerks for no reason...except for Kratos he'd probably would do that if Sweet Tooth suddenly appeared in the God of War universe.

SideShowBatt I think Heihachi would have been a better match-up for Kratos. Really, Heihachi was just looking for a challenge, as does a LOT of characters in fighting games (Ryu, Akuma, etc.). Except, the dialogue would be short and awkward since Kratos wouldn't be able to understand him.

The Big Daddy scene is interesting from a writing standpoint, because it has to portray a pure, likable character like Sackboy as a villain, something practically unheard of in the actual games.

Cole was in the presence of someone more suspicious and ominous looking, so you can't blame him for being a little cautious.

It can also be noted that Good Cole is in a world that is torn apart by a war between good and evil. Evil Cole's world just has evil, as he likely killed all the good guys.
Well, there's an obvious difference. One is a small, fat, pink princess, with even smaller knights, and then there's someone armed with weapons, pointing a sword at you. I dunno, a *BIT* different.

Oddly enough, I love how straightforward Good Cole vs Raiden is. Cole asking "You one of us?" somehow puts a huge smile on my face. Neither men understand what's going on in the other's world, but they can both VERY quickly figure things out.
Both probably has good reason to fight as well due to the circumstances of their worlds

in Bioshock 1 you have to become a big daddy yourself by using a bodysuit and grabbing special hormones. sackboy doesn't meet any of those requirements and yet the little sister suddenly gets attached to it instead of the big daddy. but i guess it doesn't matter if you haven't played bioshock

There are so many weird choices. But imagine this re done today? The PS4 had a ton of exclusives that could build a really great roster and maybe Activision would be willing to let Spyro and Crash actually be in the game.
They should definetly do a second game for this in the future when sony doesnt have plans to make more consoles or when they do a console very, very advanced, and have a great amount of time to develop the game with new characters, backgrounds and cutscenes like these, i just really hope im still alive if it'll ever happen

On today's edition of "Never Had I Ever", never had I ever seen a Big Daddy have jealousy issues before.
I'm pretty sure they were supposed to have the jealous tendencies, due to being "bonded" with a little sister. If I remember back in Bioshock 2, the Big Daddy (Subject Delta) punched Grace Holloway just for saying hello to Sophie. It was mentioned in those "Voxophones" or whatever they were called

Even though playstation all stars flopped as a videogame in terms of gameplay, The characters imo are super cool and i would love to see a lot more of new playstation characters with new stories,cutscnes and Rival Battles.

Would they fight realistically though? I always thought they'd probably work together or at least help one another at points rather than fight each other.
@@kamuiwarp1784 Yeah, I don't think they'd just automatically fight either, but this is a fighting game so it's a little excusable. The only way I could see them realistically fighting is if Cole was evil and Raiden needed to stop his evil deeds.
@@gevvy6 Evil Cole vs Raiden makes sense. But yeah in realistic case I can't see Cole fighting Raiden but honestly thought of them working together sounds pretty awesome.

The fact that the Big Daddy and reboot Dante are in this game really makes me wonder why Crash or Spyro couldn't be here.
Activision, who owns the rights to both series these days, said no when Sony asked to have both Crash and Spyro appear in the game.
Big Daddy was put in at the request of 2K and Irrational Games themselves and Capcom offered to let Dante in but only under the request it was the DmC Dante.
Activision said no and asked for a ridiculous sum of money (as usual) to put Crash and Spyro in the game which the developer couldn't afford to do.
it was either a- they didn't get the permission or b- they didn't want to use them...or heck maybe a bit of both.

Crash and Spyro are owned by Activision now (they have been since mid 2000's.
They tried to get them for the game but Activision wanted a insane amount of money for their use and Sony told them to flog off.
This game was more of a shoddy Smash clone filled with advertisement for new games at the time rather than a full-fledged nostalgia trip.

Actually, all these fights are meta. The rivalries are based on real world company rivalries or sharing traits like being created by the same guy and what not. Pretty neat haha

Some of them are less meta than the others.
Nathan and Sly are somewhat more supplemented that their stories intertwine in the beginning rather than the middle.
Ratchet and Jak are pretty normal between Insomniac and Naughty Dog. Heck, I heard that Ratchet Deadlocked and Jak X are somewhat compatible, where a save file of one game unlocks their protagonist for the other game. And how they appear in each other's games.
Toru leans a bit more into the meta side, but it seems that SFxTekken is canon to him and not to this game's Heihachi as the former recognizes the latter, but not vice versa.

Man, having two of my favorite video game characters (Sly and Nathan Drake) talking to one another is weird, but cool. Imagine this game was canon, and in U4 Nathan says "Well at least I'm not fighting a bipedal Raccoon".

Hey I don't make them, I think conflict is more entertaining in a fighting game but it would be nice for more high fives and team ups then for beginning fights with characters
