Sadly this will be my last video from Ho Chi MInh City (Saigon). The trip felt so short as I had a wonderful time!
In this video I made my way to one of the most popular restaurants in the city for locals and tourist. I also tried a few more local favorite dishes and realized I probably wouldn't need to eat again for about a week after this day full of eating!

Never seen someone who didn't grow up eating Vietnamese food show so much enthusiasm for ALL Vietnamese food. Many Vietnamese dishes have incredible mix of flavors and textures all in one bite that takes some getting used to for foreigners, but it can become addictive.

A lot of people do vlogging about Saigon's foods but no one ever discover Bột Chiên, man. You are the first!

One of the arts in the Vietnamese cuisine is that they know which vegetables/herbs (and dipping sauce) taste good and go well with which types of meat or dish. You'll end up eating a lot of fresh vegetables and enjoy them which is more healthy than just eating meat on its own 😊
As a Vietnamese, you def know how to eat your food. You also have great knowledge on how to eat it as well! I'm impressed.

I’ve only been back home from Ho Chi Minh City for 3 weeks and I already miss it. You could never say Vietnamese food is boring. With all the flavors and seasonings it takes your tastebuds on a roller coaster ride.
You are exactly right about the history of Vietnam and the people. They take bits and pieces from their history and really make the most of what they have. I really enjoyed my time there with my girlfriend who is Vietnamese and her family. It was an amazing experience. I felt like I was on the Travel Channel every day.

Yes. A white American male who is not there to exploit people or be disrespectful in any way. Totally into the food and knows the ingredients. Look up his evolution. He ate the same thing for years having never left Arkansas and developing body image issues. He ended up in Chinatown when he was 24 and it changed his life. Within a month he moved to China because of the food but he says he failed at learning the language.

You must have really loved Vietnam. I can see a real happiness in your face while eating those dishes. You make me really want to rush there and enjoy the food. I guess 99% Vietnamese are fans of Banh Xeo, so no doubt how delicious it is. Bot chien is my favorite one as well. It is like something going along with you since your childhood.
I seriously don't think fish sauce is something westerners should stay away. It's actually one of the main characters of Vietnamese cuisine. I can eat Hollandaise, cheese, chili sauce, ketchup and every kind of sauce in the world. Also, making fish sauce is an art of Vietnamese culture if you ever have a chance to know.
Despite of that, how oily and unhealthy of using so much oil in fry is debatable.

it's 1st time I see someone put that much of hot peppers inside of the bánh Xèo. Usually, we put the hot peppers in the source. It's so hot, yet you're able to eat that much of peppers. Good for you. Great video.

Max, after watching all ur Vietnam food videos, I have to say that your Chilly game is so strongggg! I literally screamed seeing you put that much chilly in each dish :)))))). Normally average Vietnamese will have a corner of a spoon but you had like 2 or 3 full spoons haha. Regardless, glad u enjoyed all the foods in Saigon. And I appreciate that u can take the sauce that go with each dish the way we eat, not so many Westerner can. :D. Btw, Banh mi, bot chien, bun bo, banh xeo are my top favs too!
