    These enclosures are great, especially at their price point. I have 6 of these all for ball pythons. However, as im building them i silicone all the interior gaps and i also use insulation tape on the screen to hold heat and humidity. For $125 you're not going to find a better terrarium even if you have to make a couple of easy modifications.

    I own one myself. I bought a 4x2x2 for my ball python and it does work well although it has somewhat has difficulty holding in humidity. I have a humidity box just in case the humidity isn't at an appropriate percentage, but I try my best to keep it reasonable for him. For the price, I love this thing. Although you need to make some changes, it is much more affordable than other enclosures! Great Video!

      Thank you and yes I agree! I personally feel like the best purpose for their 120 gallon enclosure is for Beardies, Jewled lacertas, possibly things like Sudan plated lizards because they like dryer ambient humidity but like higher humidity hides. It holds heat in very well despite the big vents on the sides and for the price you can’t really beat it! I’d also like if there were holes for cords and various other things but the tanks have other options like stands and dividers to stack them which gives it some points 😅

      Do you feel like it doesn't hold humidity well because of the material, vents on the sides, screen top, etc? I'm trying to gauge if it would be worth getting for my ball python and if there are reasonable modifications I could make to resolve that issue.

    • @Weston_it
      @Weston_it 2 місяці тому

      @@99SigP For me it holds it fine. I live in a dry area and the humidity still maintains a solid percentage. However, I still recommend having a humidity hide just in case. They will use it! 😄

    I have one of these for my ball python and I definitely wouldn't recommend it for higher humidity species! but for bearded dragons I can see how it would work well.

    • @jaexotics
      @jaexotics  4 місяці тому +1

      Exactly, they hold heat relatively well. I think things like beardies may be their main market. They sell something similar to an 18x18x24 and I almost want to get it to try it out!

      @jaexotics do you have to add extra heat tho. My beardie in a 40 gallon right now and I use a mercury vapor buld 100 watt. I just ordered the 48 in one today.

    I'm about to try modifying for a RHP and light kit, but I don't have humidity issues even now. I actually block off half the screen with a pce of the packing styrofoam that came with the enclosures. I don't bother spraying the substrate because it's not going to stay wet or damp. I use water bottles and have at it lol if anything I use a dehumidifier at times because it'll stay too humid in the summer if I don't. None of mine want anything to do with humid hides I've tried, all I know is they shed well and seem to enjoy their constant temps. I truly recommend these, and the prices have come down. ❤

    I have 3 of these. 2 of the 48 x 24 x 24 for my ball pythons and a 36 x 18 x 18 for my sand boa . The thing I like least about them is that I have to use a sprayer to wet the substrate down but I have to go slowly and turn the coco chips while I spray or the water will drain out of the bottom. I'm hoping silicone round the bottom edges will fix that. Other than that, I really like them. They're easy to keep clean.

    Do they have an entry point for cables? Thinking about getting two of these and stacking them. That space, would it hold the wait of a bioactive one of these up top? I am guessing this would require lots of silicone sealant for that?

    • @jaexotics
      @jaexotics  3 місяці тому +2

      @@dragung2291 you’d have to modify the tank in some way for cable management. I don’t see why it could not be used for a bioactive setup but you’d have to silicone the cracks for sure and you wouldn’t be able to keep an eye on the drainage layers water level
