@@bradsbioactivebuilds absolutely clean work. I am also building a terrarium for Acanthurus shortly and I was inspired by your terrarium and will adopt some of it. With the box outside is a great idea and I will adopt that. Very well built everything. Masterful!!!!!
@@neckarratte1375 awesome, glad ypu are adopting some things. One of the reasons I make videos is so others can get some ideas and create there own. Thank you for your support!
His tutorials are incredible too
I’m cutting the pvc and keep getting the fumes smell!! Is this an indication I’m melting the plastic and not cutting ?? The start of the cut is clean but I just want to make sure I’m doing it right before moving forward.
Damn, insane level of detail. And to think I came here for a box.
Thanx Michael 💯. It started out as a box, and then I just kept building 🤣

Thanx and I think years of tattooing helped me with that 😆. And also knowing I didn't want to start over.

This is hands down the BEST enclosure build video I've ever found!
Hey, thanx so much, I'm glad you like it!
🤘💯🦎🐢🐍🐸🌱
Man I want to build one but I suck at measuring and cutting things. If you sold these as pre cut kits that would be a dream!! Amazing.
I'm looking into doing something like this mid to late 2024. We will see. But CNC machines are expensive lol. In the mean time if you try it cut slow. Follow the line. Measurements are fairly straight forward. All in inch or half inch cuts.
🤘💯🦎🐸🐍🐢🌱
You have thought of everything and i continue to be mind blown but it all.
Haven’t seen anything of this caliber yet out there.
And great ending with the boxers! Made me smile!
Thank you! Every build I try to think of something new. Before long I'll be all out of ideas lol. Gear up for my next build. Doi g water tests now. I think I have a leak in a bran new 36x18x36 exorerra. So I'll have to address that next or start on another project for a Panther Chameleon. Also planning a 10w5dx6h foot Asian water monitor (Varanus Cumingi) enclosure. That one might take a little bit lol.
Thanx for watching and your support.
I'm going to do the complete build. Total budget was just under $825.00. Not including substrate or plants.

Brad.......Outstanding F#$@% Job. Purchased a nelson milk snake last year for our son, got the zoo med 40 gallon starter aquarium. Mad because Bob the snake didn't make it. Lesson learned what not to purchase for snakes. Stores should sell a snake enclosure, just for snakes (Only Snakes)!!! Since HEAT RISES/HUMIDITY RISES and escapes through the top of the tank don't freaking buy it. The tank needs to be fully enclosed on the top, left and right sides and bottom. I'm a carpenter and this video makes me want to build this enclosure without purchasing another snake and then tell the wife (Well, I built the top of the line enclosure, might as well purchase another snake for the kids). She can never say no to the kids....hehehehe.
Do not purchase any reptile unless you build this DIY enclosure. You can always build in steps and add on as needed.
Once again H##LL of a job. So jealous.
Couldn't agree more about some of the info from big pet store chains. The seel wjat they can move not move what needs to be sold. That sucks about your milk snake Bob. Hope you build one and enjoy knowing you made it to Suite the animals needs. Plus it's a good reason to get another lol.

@@bradsbioactivebuilds yes definitely appreciate the knowledge gained! I'm going for an ackie enclosure so I'll be using a few of your videos to guide me along. I can't find anything pre-made that has the depth I'm looking for to get that good deep substrate they like and they're crazy expensive so building one it is! I'd also like a bearded dragon setup but those don't need to be as tall ofc.
@@davidfarris1332 I ran into the same issue with finding an ackie enclosure so I built one. Moving forward I'm going to build most of my enclosures. For me, I appreciate the setup much more when I build it lol. Plus a lot of $ saved. Have fun and enjoy the process!

This is savage bro bro! Curious where do you get the pvc, and what type?
Thanx bro!
It's 1/2 found at home depo, Lowes, or manards. I double up the front frame where I attach the glass track so the track fits and addsstrength to prevent bowing. The pvc is light enough so the front frame does the trick while eliminating a vertical center brace right in the middle of the glass.

Can you make a video explaining the process of how you make the slots for the glass so it’s held in and able to slide open and closed?
I can with a future build.
But the "slots" is just a glass track I got on Amazon (link at the end of this post).
After I have the front frame installed (doubled up pvc board to make it 1" thick). I measure the opening where the glass is going to go before I install the glass track.
Then, install the glass track with silicone, holding it in place with painters tape. I take the leftover glass track (I had 1" cut-off) and brought it to a glass shop. Gave them the measurements of the opening and the cutoff glass track. They did all the math (around 1/4" less than opening.) And cut the glass. I used 1/4" tempered glass.

Your videos are top notch and you have helped me move towards building my own, only question is on this one you have the side as 4' x 23 1/2"...since using half inch pvc shouldn't that be 23" to allow for the half inch on each side or am I missing something??
Thank you, I put a lot of work into the videos to try and explain everything to the best of my ability. I'm glad it has helped you move towards building your own.
To answer your the sides are 23 1/2". Everything site on top of the bottom panel that measures 6'L x 24"d.
So when I put my back panel on it will reduce the side panels by 1/2" (4'h x 23 1/2" deep) to compensate for the 1/2" thickness of the pvc sheet. The 1st few minutes of my Chameleon enclose build shows building an enclosure to that might be helpful too.
Let me know if you have any other questions and have fun with your build.

@@bradsbioactivebuilds literally cannot wait! Having real problems with air circulation in several habitats and I'm so tired of precariously perching larger computer fans on top of lids.
By far the best build video. Would u recommend a center support in the front if I were stacking 6x2x2's?
Thank you.
Depends on what you material you are building with (woodbor pvc). If it is pvc, I would recommend center support if shacking. I would build a shelf/stand for top enclosure depending on weight and substrate of the top enclosure.
A 3/4 hard wood enclosure you should be able to get by without center support, but that one could go either way.
Hope that helps

I was wondering if you could do a guide on reptizoo tanks specifically with the easy cord management and your thoughts on if its very helpful for those of us that are not ready to drill holes in the glass😂
Interesting. I usually use exoterra. But reach out to Reptizoo and have them send me a tank lol. All jokes aside, I have a few builds lined up. But maybe I'll do a raffle build with a Reptizoo that has the easy cord management for a future build video.

@joshb7857 much appreciated Josh! Thanx for your support! And they are all good. I just started with exoterra when i got into dart frogs and kept them all my other builds in uniform, so they match. That's the main reason other than the vents were smaller to help fruitfly proof. 🤘💯🦎🐸🐍🐢🌱

What glass do you use
I used 1/4" tempered glass. I had the glass shop buff/smooth the edges so it would reduce resistance when sliding.
I'm so bad at planning and have never built anything close to this amazing- what are your recommendations on planning a build like this?? You seem to have thought of everything! I would gladly buy a build plan for a similar encosure from you, you should sell them!!
Thank you, much appreciated. The hardest part is sometimes getting started. But shoot me a message on Instagram, and I'll send you the plans I drew up if I can find them. But it's essentially building a box.
The bottom and top is 6x2
Back panel is 6w4h that sits on top of the bottom panel and under the top panel.
I used 1/2 thickness material
So the side panels were 23.5 inches in depth and 4 foot high.
For the frontbi just recessed in the boards .5 inches to give it some character.

I have heard cutting PVC can be a pain. Did you do anything special for that?
It's no harder then cutting wood. Cuts like a warm knife through butter. Jigsaw or circular saw work fine. Just wear a mask bc or fumes at high heat and pvc micro particals.
🤘💯🦎🐍🐢🐸

I used 4x8 sheets from homedepo. They run about 99 a sheet. I have the links in the description in the other videos (for my blue tree monitor) but it's a shipped price
Any other questions lmkband have fun building!

only complaints about this build is the lack of pvc glue on the plumbing and on the panels, pvc glue is made for plumbing and retaining water in pvc pipes, you could have skipped siliconing the inside seams if you had glued them with pvc glue, or put the silicone in anyway and been double safe. also just because the drywall screws come in a 1000 pack doesnt' mean you need to use them all.
Agreed to a point. Ias contemplating using pcv glue, but want to be sure if I would be able to work quickly enough before glue fused together. So I went with lexel adhesive (paintable) where water would sit. Then, I applied drylok or xps board over that. But I've been thinking about working real fast and use pvc glue on an upcoming build.
For the plumbing, yes pvc glue would work great, but I was thinking of the future and when I move, the silicone will be easier to remove so I can put the enclosure flat.

Hey man, love your work. Watched couple of other videos of yours and they’re all just wow. I’m trying to build one for my diamond python and I’m in Australia. Just wondering what exactly is that pvc? Is it plastic, foam, wood ? I don’t know what to look for in Australia. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
Thanx bro, much appreciated.
Pvc board is pvc just in a 8x4 half ins sheet. Just like plywood just made from pvc.
Copperhead customs might be able to point you in the right direction in Australia. Check him out on IG. Tell him I sent you, he's a cool dude out by you.

How did you get the glass into the tracks after the tracks were installed? Also, the glass tracks are held in place with just silicone? Strong?
The top track has a longer insert/lip. The bottom track has a smaller lip. I measure the gap between the front opening before I install the glass track. Then, cut the track to fit the length. (I keep the cut extra track to bring to the glass shop and give them my opening measurements without the track installed. Any local glass shop will do). Yes, silicone works great. I found the best one is at Home Depo by the plexiglass & acrylic section. It comes in a white and red tub. It's 100% silicone. And if it wasn't this wouldn't really matter to much once cured bc it's pretty much out of the enclosure.) Then just lay the track into place and use painters tape to hold it in place for 24 hours.
Then, just lift the glass into the top track and have it drop (gently) into the bottom track. The lip on the top keeps it into place.
What was the budget? And saving money with us is compared to what the thousands of dollar enclosures I’m trying to see what is more affordable building or buying one like it is going to land outside of my budget. How would you recommend I save money with this build
There are ways to go all out with this build or cut costs. Example using g 1/4 inch tempered glass, not tempered glass or plexiglass. Tempered is you best option for scratching and strength.
Pvc board is more expensive then ply wood. Depending on what lights you use, Amazon or arcadia
But a quick break down off the top of my head
3 sheers of PVC 100 each
Tempered glass lass $200
3 Light domes (20 each)
Wood for stand (40-50 bucks)
Screws $9
Lexel Adhesive $12
Glass track $40
Bulkhead for drainage $7
If you start doing hardscape stuff it's then the cost is ul to you on what you want to add.
Hope this helps.
I also have a lot of the links in the hards scape build video (link in description)

Can I get a materials list please. And do u think pvc will make a good paludarium. Only 1s I ever saw are glass
Material list Us in the 2nd video (I'll post at the end of this comment.
I think pvc could work as a paludarium but it would depend on the thickness of the pvc and how much water. To much water (not framed out) would bow and eventually break. A laguna tub would work well though.
Hope this helps.
