Dry Fly Fishing Cheeseman Canyon, South Platte River in Colorado

- I decided to take a break from skiing to enjoy a beautiful spring day of fly fishing on the South Platte River's Upper Cheeseman Canyon. This stretch of the South Platte is truly one of the greatest trout streams in the west and one of my favorite places in Colorado.
Due to a leisurely start, a longer hike in, and some plans later on in the day I only fished for about 1.5 hours but was able to land 3 beautiful fish (all on dry flies) and catch a serious case of 2023 fishing fever.
Thanks so much for watching and a like and sub goes a long way to motivate me to bring the camera gear on other trips and adventures.

Awesome video
Thanks for watching
Looks like an awesome day on the water and a hell of a way to start your season! Recently was out there and loved every second of it, beautiful place to fish (minus the crowds lol)
The crowds can be crazy and I've never seen that many people in the upper section but with the beautiful spring weather can't blame them Thanks for watching and nothing like a good start to a great summer of fishing
Beautiful fish! Nicely done!
Thank you!
very nice fish...rainbows there are gorgeous..how long was the hike in minutes?
Thanks for watching and the hike to the river is 4 miles round trip and ~1000ft of climbing. It takes me about an hour each way and you can for sure spend more time hiking if going farther downstream.
I hope this helps
You'd rather have 80cfs than high? It fishes best high
No i rather have more water . 80cfs and low flows have always been more of a struggle for me.
Still lots to learn about the stream tho
The best part about cheeseman is the farther you walk the better the fishing. The upper part has gotten pretty crowded as more people understand that a little work pays off ha
