Glad you mentioned Sister Rosetta Tharpe. She played electric guitar back in the 1930/40’s and has a handful of great videos on utube…

Great video, my cold is better and I came back. Your videos are great, they are like a one to one chat and have such a good vibe.
I like the way you give the bones for folk to put the flesh on and create their own version.
Made me pick up the guitar and play this tune. It was written by John Newton a clergyman in Olney, Buckinghamshire about 8 miles from my house. It went to USA and came back, nearly to its birthplace, via you! Funny old world.
    Thanks for such nice videos.

What an “amazingly graceful” arrangement of this classic song. It definitely has blues at its heart no matter how it gets played. When I pull my guitar out later, it’ll be fun to try your version and perhaps even put my own spin on it. I always wanted to add some complexity to these basic chords and never knew how to do it- your way looks doable and sounds lovely! Thanks for the inspiration.
And yes, I agree that the blues has ties to hymns and even folk songs from decades ago (not the Bob Dylan type, lol). Pretty much all the genres we enjoy today have ties to other genres - it’s fun to analyze and pick out the origins!

It's a thing. I really study the people that made the music now. The people put their heart into it. Perhaps that's why I don't study too much contemporary Christian. I was hoping for this lesson too. I got a new guitar yesterday. It was a silent auction. The guitar is a Mitchell acoustic that is signed by Alan Jackson. It has a neck that has just started to shift and the top has a big crack in it. I bought it to learn on with you and th learn to fix that 6 thousand dollar Taylor k26ce neck and body. I'm not sure if I'll pull the bridges 🤔. Thanks again for this lesson. I do a mix between SRV and Lee Hooker. Pride and joy improvised.

I saw one that you spoke about your sticky pic … sticky moose ? Well I have a grip issue due to a medical problem and would love to know where you purchased it please.. I’m in Australia but happy to purchase from USA if possible.
    Looking forward to your reply.
Not sure I can connect with you for you live UA-cam yet due to the time difference but I’ll try 😊

The picks are from USA the website is guitarmoose.com/shop I always buy the carbon picks 0.5 gauge. If you buy the other types note the 0.5 will feel a lot lighter. (Too light). So glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you very much!❤️

      Thank you 🙏
Unfortunately they cost about $89.00 Australian dollars 😩
The carbon only come in packs of 10 which is rather a lot.
Do you know of anywhere else I could maybe get a few but less the 10 happy to share with someone 🙏

@@jacquelinebailey4751 they are pricy - but wow that’s a lot higher than here. I have seen singles sell on eBay. Not sure of any other options.
