Absolutely the best teaching video that I have watched, believe me,I've checked them ALL. It opened a door to freedom on the fret board. Can't say thanks enough.
Awesome to hear the value you got from this lesson!
@@GuitarMasteryMethod yeah. You watched the Paul Warren Music video lesson on self doubt didn't you...
I've been playing since 1977, this is the single best advise I've heard in 6 decades !
"We're guitar players, we have enough issues." Truer words have never been spoken.
I’m a working jazz guitar player (not a teacher). This video popped up in my feed while I was doing dishes and if my hands weren’t all soapy I probably would’ve clicked right past it but I wound up getting pulled in and I gotta say: this is a very nice lesson. I think it’s worth mentioning that when you reduced the pentatonic scale to a four-note box shape and then you faked us out by playing a one-note solo (driven by rhythm), most people who are not musicians probably wouldn’t even have realized you only played one note. And that’s a revelation in itself, no matter what your level. I have an eight-year-old daughter and it’s been really tough trying to teach her to playmusic. I’m now working with her using this concept. It’s really made her excited about playing the guitar. I throw down the groove on my guitar and she plays a one or two note solo that’s all about phrasing and she really feels like she’s getting it. I look forward to seeing where this takes us. Thanks, man.
of all your videos this might be the best one because of the simplicity we need
nice to see a guitar tut that isn't about sweep picking...
thank you 🙂
A perfect example of this very little box is the solo to Mambo Sun by T Rex. Marc Bolan plays a fantastic solo with this little box at the 10th fret (E Major Pent). This was one of the first solos I learned when I started guitar over 50 years ago, great starter solo for beginners. And it's KILLER.
Yo Eddie- Thank-you man that was a great lesson! I went and applied those principals and I immediately sounded better, and didn’t want to stop playing( had to get back to work). Thanks again and I love your teaching style.👍
I’ve watched a lot of guitar teachers, my man you are 1 of the best, very easy to understand and learn. If I buy any additional resources it will be Guitar Mastery.
Thanks
Thanks Donald!
I appreciate your lessons and the way you teach. Thank you
Thanks for the kind words!
Great Lesson! I watch you everyday, just to learn something new. You're a great teacher.
I figured this out a couple years ago, and it was the single biggest way ive improved since
Brilliant! The beauty is the simplicity of this concept. Thank you!!!
Agreed!
Les vrais explications pour apprendre à bien comprendre, super merci.
Fantastic lesson! And a great sounding solo with just 4 notes. As in being a good conversationalist, oftentimes less is more in playing guitar. The tone is really key too, and that Les Paul Junior sounds wonderful.
Thank you! I really appreciate the clear instruction...definitely what I needed today.
Anytime 😎
35 years, I had given up on improvising solos. This clicked with me. Thank you!
As a beginner, this was such an enormous help! I've been going up and down the same scale for weeks, not knowing what to do with it. Now, I just need to find a website or app that has backing tracks that I can speed up and slow down to match my playing.
Here's a playlist of backing tracks you can click the ⚙Icon on the video and change playback speed. We even have notes shown on the fretboard to try! ua-cam.com/video/ivqa4A07l4o/v-deo.html
@@GuitarMasteryMethod THANK YOU!!!
Most guitarists spend half their lives tuning the guitar and the other half playing out of tune
😂 I Hope I am not one of them ;)
not with 5 us turners
So what's the problem ?
Im hoping im not one too...ha funny!!
Doesn't matter, as long as your enjoying yourself and continuing to learn.
Thank you, much appreciated.
Dude, so helpful! Been playing for a billion years... this helps. Limits!
One of the best teaching lessons so far…I got a boatload of useful info!
Great to hear!
I am so grateful that I discovered this channel. I've struggled with this issue for years. Thank you so much.
I love to hear it! More lessons on the way!
@@GuitarMasteryMethod Awesome, thank you so much.
Thanks! I’m primarily a rhythm player and have struggled with this issue for years.
I primarily play older rock and older country and country rock. I always seem to learn things when I can associate them with patterns. I’ve been making pretty good progress by finding licks that repeat up the neck and associating them with the chord or key they are in.
Your lesson has helped me put more of the pieces together in an understandable way. Thanks!!
Love to hear it!
That’s a nice looking LP Junior!
This is such a good video. Wow! Great job. Thank you.
Eddie, your timing (or maybe mine) is impeccable. I'm traveling on the 'Conveyor,' and this lesson allowed me to have the 'Got it' moment to put it together. Thanks a bunch!
Heck yeah!
An Absolute awesome lesson..thank you for sharing your tips ❤❤❤
Great to hear you got value from the lesson!
I’ve watched a lot of guitar teachers, my man you are 1 of the best, very easy to understand and learn. If I buy any additional resources it will be Guitar Mastery.
Thanks
And I will hang on to the end
Appreciate the kind words Donald 🙂
Cor! How true it is what you say. Valuable lesson and I like to have a go as soon as Iget back home.
Let me know how it goes!
Even knowing the caged system, this is very useful. Im taking this focus idea to heart. Good teaching. Thanks, Eddie.
Anytime, Anthony!
Just what I needed. thanks!!
As a newb myself this was a great video. His videos help me out tremendously. Keep doing what your doing thank you 🤙
Awesome, more lessons on the way Jason
Thank you .
Thanks for the info!!! I have played guitar for a time, but only chords. Solos always intimidated me. The way you break it down makes it simplistic. I will give it a try!🙃
Let me know how it goes Heidi!
Subscribed. I've always been overwhelmed with how to improvise a solo. Like where do I go, gotta remember these shapes and boxes etc. The pressure. Playing that solo with just the one note was a light bulb moment for me. Do different things with it. Slide into it, bend it etc. It can sound impressive. I'll take this lesson as a building block and slowly branch out from this. Thanks!
Impressive video! It's so easy to get stuck into running through scale patterns and not actually play anything. Thanks for this one!
Eddie!! your are The Great Master!! The One!! Absolute Genius!!
❤
this video got me so stoked to play guitar with the homie lol
Great Lesson!
Great explanation man though I can't play my guitar the way i want to, i wish i can, you are really dropping very useful information on the instrument,
Keep at it Dwayne!
Makes sense.
I will definitely do this next practice time
Cheers mate!
Best lesson I wish I had learned years ago!
Stuff I should have heard 30 years ago. Thank you !
Thank you for a helpful, encouraging lesson.
No problem!
Great stuff, Eddie!
I've been taking lessons with Dani Vargas and he always lights up when your name comes up. He holds you in the highest esteem both as a friend and a guitarist. And it's obvious why. = )
I love your The Band cap those guys are Legend. Thanks for the info.
Thank you so much, great lesson indeed
Appreciate it Maxwell!
Thanks for your help!!!
GOD Bless!!!
Brilliance ❤ thanks man the best advice for me so far from the you tube lead guitar stuff
This is great because I can only afford one string
Thanks for the laugh!😂😂
Well in that case, I made this video specifically for you! ua-cam.com/video/ZmIktFgbZ-k/v-deo.html
Great lesson Eddie, thank you sir 👍
No problem! 😎
Very nice! Thank you! Its a great lesson as is.
Just a thought, take it or leave it:
Here is a root, fundamental philosophy of teaching: demonstrate what you're going to teach. Teach it. Then demonstrate/show/teach what you just taught.
So, first, demonstrate it, second teach it, third show/tell what you just taught. Pedagogy 101. It just works. Cheers!
Thanks so much for the input! I’m very familiar with that formula, but my natural tendency is to be conversational all the way through it lol
I realize that may appear as “fluff” to some, but more folks seem to like my style than not, so I stick with it.
So simple yet effective..great lesson!!
That's always the goal!
Your root note sounded much better than anything I play 😂😂
Excellent!!
one of the best vidoes on guitar ive heard thamks
Brilliant. Thanks.
Glad you liked it!
More Eddie Awesomeness! Thanks again!
"We're guitar players - we've got enough issues as it is" 🤣😂🤣
Its true! 🤷♂
Very nice lesson! These are some of the very basics of soloing, everyone player should know 😊
Really good lesson!
😎
Love your Cross Eddie!
Thank you man ❤
Great idea and example :) Thx a lot.
I feel like being blessed finding this video. This is excatly what I need for years. It should be the first lesson for every person who wants to learn lead guitar. Thanks for the inspiration. Cheers from Indonesia.
Appreciate you taking the time to leave this comment!
awesome !
Do you have your own channel Eddie? I genuinely want to see more content from you personally. I bought a course last year from this channel, and was disappointed when I didn't find you in the contents
Thanks for This ... 🙏 Il Start Focusing on Few notes .. than noodling notes leads To nowhere Frustration 😢
That’s just brilliant. I think you might have unstuck me.✔️
Thanks Man, just what i needed 😊
Awesome to hear Robert
This is beautiful
A GNARLY jam brother...
Awesome video sir!
Thanks from a beginner
Thank you for your lessons, I appreciate them. Cheers from Toronto.
Cheers Ray!
awesome
As often: Less is more! 👍🏼
This was so good 👍
That reminds me, I gotta get me a single P90 guitar. So cool!
Great info thanks!
Neat lesson
When soloing, always go back to the root notes. That way, I have time to regroup, and won't get lost.
Good stuff!
Thank you for this lesson. Great job. Btw, I just got a LPJ. Similar to yours.
Awesome
Ur video is great..n i would really love to hve a guitar😊
Thanks from an intermediate lol Good stuff 👍
Cool very helpful
I like the Orthodox cross!!!
Thank you! ☦️
So what advice would you give someone who played professionally, opened for bands like INXS and Cheap Trick, but hasn't picked up my strat in 20 years?
The first thing I would say, is pick that Strat right back up and don’t put it down again!
I've been there. Don't wait around . I think I quit one time too many.
Love your necklace ☦️
Thank you... after a few years of piano, I picked up the guitar to learn another instrument by side... your vid got me thinking , and showed me that my practice needed this direction.... but....I dont like to use a pick... is a pick necessary to play the electric guitar?
Nice video. What are the best scales to learn and how do you know which one to use?
Eastern Orthodox dude, that's it!
Thanks. Great advice. What key backing track do you need to practice this?
A minor will work!
It’s all the edge ever does
👍
When I play it feels like im swinging a baseball bat at fly but when it finally sounds right to me it's usually only with half the notes i thought i needed and my timing was just off.
