Absolutely the best teaching video that I have watched, believe me,I've checked them ALL. It opened a door to freedom on the fret board. Can't say thanks enough.
I’m a working jazz guitar player (not a teacher). This video popped up in my feed while I was doing dishes and if my hands weren’t all soapy I probably would’ve clicked right past it but I wound up getting pulled in and I gotta say: this is a very nice lesson. I think it’s worth mentioning that when you reduced the pentatonic scale to a four-note box shape and then you faked us out by playing a one-note solo (driven by rhythm), most people who are not musicians probably wouldn’t even have realized you only played one note. And that’s a revelation in itself, no matter what your level. I have an eight-year-old daughter and it’s been really tough trying to teach her to playmusic. I’m now working with her using this concept. It’s really made her excited about playing the guitar. I throw down the groove on my guitar and she plays a one or two note solo that’s all about phrasing and she really feels like she’s getting it. I look forward to seeing where this takes us. Thanks, man.
A perfect example of this very little box is the solo to Mambo Sun by T Rex. Marc Bolan plays a fantastic solo with this little box at the 10th fret (E Major Pent). This was one of the first solos I learned when I started guitar over 50 years ago, great starter solo for beginners. And it's KILLER.
Fantastic lesson! And a great sounding solo with just 4 notes. As in being a good conversationalist, oftentimes less is more in playing guitar. The tone is really key too, and that Les Paul Junior sounds wonderful.
Yo Eddie- Thank-you man that was a great lesson! I went and applied those principals and I immediately sounded better, and didn’t want to stop playing( had to get back to work). Thanks again and I love your teaching style.👍
Thanks Eddie! It is FINALLY starting to come together with using the scales and making something musical. My new smart amp with loads of backing tracks really helps break through! You are doing an awesome job instructing! Thanks so much!
Subscribed. I've always been overwhelmed with how to improvise a solo. Like where do I go, gotta remember these shapes and boxes etc. The pressure. Playing that solo with just the one note was a light bulb moment for me. Do different things with it. Slide into it, bend it etc. It can sound impressive. I'll take this lesson as a building block and slowly branch out from this. Thanks!
I’ve watched a lot of guitar teachers, my man you are 1 of the best, very easy to understand and learn. If I buy any additional resources it will be Guitar Mastery. Thanks
Great explanation man though I can't play my guitar the way i want to, i wish i can, you are really dropping very useful information on the instrument,
As a beginner, this was such an enormous help! I've been going up and down the same scale for weeks, not knowing what to do with it. Now, I just need to find a website or app that has backing tracks that I can speed up and slow down to match my playing.
Here's a playlist of backing tracks you can click the ⚙Icon on the video and change playback speed. We even have notes shown on the fretboard to try! ua-cam.com/video/ivqa4A07l4o/v-deo.html
Great stuff, Eddie! I've been taking lessons with Dani Vargas and he always lights up when your name comes up. He holds you in the highest esteem both as a friend and a guitarist. And it's obvious why. = )
Eddie, your timing (or maybe mine) is impeccable. I'm traveling on the 'Conveyor,' and this lesson allowed me to have the 'Got it' moment to put it together. Thanks a bunch!
I’ve watched a lot of guitar teachers, my man you are 1 of the best, very easy to understand and learn. If I buy any additional resources it will be Guitar Mastery. Thanks And I will hang on to the end
Thanks for the info!!! I have played guitar for a time, but only chords. Solos always intimidated me. The way you break it down makes it simplistic. I will give it a try!🙃
Thanks! I’m primarily a rhythm player and have struggled with this issue for years. I primarily play older rock and older country and country rock. I always seem to learn things when I can associate them with patterns. I’ve been making pretty good progress by finding licks that repeat up the neck and associating them with the chord or key they are in. Your lesson has helped me put more of the pieces together in an understandable way. Thanks!!
I feel like being blessed finding this video. This is excatly what I need for years. It should be the first lesson for every person who wants to learn lead guitar. Thanks for the inspiration. Cheers from Indonesia.
Do you have your own channel Eddie? I genuinely want to see more content from you personally. I bought a course last year from this channel, and was disappointed when I didn't find you in the contents

Awesome to hear the value you got from this lesson!
@@GuitarMasteryMethod yeah. You watched the Paul Warren Music video lesson on self doubt didn't you...
"We're guitar players, we have enough issues." Truer words have never been spoken.
I've been playing since 1977, this is the single best advise I've heard in 6 decades !

Dude, so helpful! Been playing for a billion years... this helps. Limits!

I figured this out a couple years ago, and it was the single biggest way ive improved since

35 years, I had given up on improvising solos. This clicked with me. Thank you!
