i weld steel with a regular welder but alumaloy rods work good on aluminum for brazing it back together ive used them with a regular torch and they did a good job

Yeah totally makes sense you got like you said the torque is to the sides is trying to snap things left and right and that's exactly what happened snap the top part and the bottom eventually can't wait for the build videos I have a John Deere V-Twin vertical shaft that I'm looking into doing the same thing with

What about turning the motor 90* on the unit. Cylinders face forward and aft.
i thought about that it would probably would work and fix the problems but to me i thought it would look really stupid so i didnt do it
