      Actually, what this means is that MSkip assumed that Mr Simmons had the common sense to either figure it out, or ask MSkip for advise before posting this nonsense. Over 1000 units running without ONE incidence what is portrayed here makes this appear to be a blatant bias.

    I work as a scuba dive and recently while in a zero vis river I felt something that felt like a prop, and a long shaft. I got pumped because I knew what I just touched. It was a 27 hp go devil on a sunken boat. Dove down with some tools took it off the boat and tossed it in mine….after 4 hernias. I just took the dude completely apart and rebuilt it and got it running. I just am waiting for a u joint to come in and on my boat she goes!

    I added the clutch to my twister kit from mudskipper and am happy with it so far. Where I hunt it’s pretty tight so I think the twister/clutch combo really helps with getting in and about.

    Awesome video that's the first I've ever saw the clutch on a long tail. As for the aluminum props, they do their job. They wear out and take the brunt of the abuse. If I don't hit a log or a stump with it to break it I wear them out in the gravel and the sand they are cheap and only take two minutes to replace.

    that clutch is a cloned max torque so you should be able to play with different springs to adjust when it engages, one "hack" you can do is cut the stock spring, cut a coil bend the next down so you can hook it back into a ring an see how much slack it has you want it kinda snug, cutting more coils will slightly adjust engagment, so it engages at higher rpm but you can also get "perfomance" springs too just don't go to heavy of springs with a stock motor ......... ole red beard garage has video on it ............ anyway great to see you back on 👍

    i've watched just about all of your videos and can't recall if you've taken the governor out of any of your mud motors. I've got a 13hp predator on a welded 1436 and would like to get a little more speed than 15-16mph. I've tried 3 different pro sizes with hardly any change. Any tips?

    • @SendItJonBoats
      @SendItJonBoats  Рік тому

      I have a video taking the governor out of a 670, but I have not filmed on for a 420 or any of the smaller motors. Planning on it, just havent done it yet. 16-20 is a common top speed range for a 1436, I know because I just did speed testing on this boat. My suggestion would be to get a better carb (Mikuni 34mm seems to be popular), air filter, better flowing exhaust, lash the valves, zip tie on the governor spring, and get a lot of time on the water moving the longtail around until you get it running the way you want. keep going down in prop size until you achieve your desired speed, but 16-20 is the range you are going to be shooting for in a welded hull because of the extra weight.

  • @klutch545
    @klutch545 Рік тому +1

    Great video! Just used my first mud motor today! I think I’ll buy a clutch kit, because I was definitely surprised at the speed at idle (12ft v-hull). Ideally, a very low speed or no movement at all would benefit me and where I launch/take-out. Also, my Predator 224 (the newer 6.5hp) cuts out when going from 3/4 or full throttle to idle. Could be I just need to break-in the motor, but I’ll probably mess with the idle screw and governor arm. Any suggestions are much appreciated!

    • @SendItJonBoats
      @SendItJonBoats  Рік тому +1

      I have not messed with the 224 yet, I would assume like any other Chinese knock off motor the carbs usually suck! I used to mess with them a little bit but now I just rip them off and get an aftermarket carb. I am going to try some of the cheap amazon carbs soon and see if any are worth a crap.

    • @dereksmith2929
      @dereksmith2929 11 місяців тому +1

      I know I’m late to the party and you probably have it figured out, but thought I’d offer some input. I experienced the same thing with my 670. Different animal, so it might not be applicable to your setup. I have to run an electric fuel pump if I want to run WOT. The stock pulse pump just can’t keep up, especially now that the motor is no longer stock and I’m running a Mikuni 34mm carb. On the smaller predator’s, I’m assuming the fuel is gravity fed, so it might be worth looking into some sort of external pump. On your application, an electric pump might be too much, so a pulse pump may work.

Is more pitch and bigger prop mean it pushes the boat forward more on each revolution?
