I have always loved the Bear Kodiak bows green finish. The Kodiaks made up until the mid 1970s are my favorite classic bows. Will be getting another one as soon as I can find one in pristine condition. Great looking and great shooting bows.

@@sigmanarchery54 I might just do that one day when I some money... My medical bills are getting out of hand. I really want to get that Doghouse FP Archery Target with a lifetime warranty... They say it's indestructible & the last target you will ever need to buy! You may have to have new target face put on it, but the target itself lasts a lifetime! They say it will stop an 80lb compound with no problem and you can pull the arrows out with a two finger grip! I want one, but they are about $150-160 ... That's what I really want right now, but I think it's going to be a very long time till I have an extra $150 to spend on my archery hobby. Hey, I can't complain God has richly blessed me, I should have died back in November, but He spared me, and He has given me great friends like you, Handy, Scott, and a few others who I love and thank Him for almost daily!!! Be well my brother in Christ, and post some new videos for us to enjoy, I love watching you shoot your different bows ... And thank you for your kind words and you and your wife are always in our prayers take care my friend and God bless.
Yeah, sweet bows. your step father did you very well. I am in process of trying to find a 40 lb Kodiak or a Grizzly. Too many injuries have forced me to drop down in bow weight but a really sharp broadhead put in the right spot will do the job just fine. I gave my step son-n-law a recurve a couple of years ago. I had customized the shelf a little to get it closer to the hand. I had picked it up at a pawn shop and it needed to be cleaned up pretty bad but was a nice bow. He refinished it very nicely and is super proud of it. From the looks of it, your stepfather's gift was well received and well appreciated too.
jerry cox. Yes sir it sure does mean a lot and I’m sure it would have made him very proud, but I truly do regret not getting into it when I was younger and shooting with him. my first bow was the 58" old bear it was warped so bad but it shot great. My next one was a like new Wing Red Wing made in 1965! The Bears ain't fancy but they work👍🇺🇸
Shootin' with Uncle Dan. The old bow are nice. But so far I think I like all bows there just fun to shoot. I also like to find out the traits of each one thank you sir God bless my friend.
Thanks for sharing that beautiful bow with us, it made me recall my first serious bow. A family friend drew my red fiberglass bow back too far and broke it. So he surprised me with a new 48" fiberglass bear recurve set at 45 pounds. I was only about 11 or 12 and could string it but could not hold it at full draw. He taught me to use three fingers and a tab. I started out just snap shooting with it because that was all I could manage at the time. I wonder how many peoples first bow was a Bear?
Sorry to hear that but that was really nice of him to replace it. For sure that was a lot to pull back for a youngster. Yes I would say many people starter bows were a bear for a been Pearson, I can’t even imagine how many bows have been sold over the years. I bought a new one in the early 70's that was a 55 pound and not it really was a bear to shoot. I made the mistake of selling it and buying a compound in the 90's. Recently, at a flea market, I came across a used one in pretty good condition that the asking price was $45. I bought it for $35 and after cleaning it up, putting a new string on it and shooting it I decided that from now on it's not going anywhere. And it's a 40# pull and for a 70 year old man, it's perfect.
Yes sir I bet you wish you still had that especially for the price they were going for now. Man that’s a great great price you got a fantastic deal, and yes don’t let it go. Thanks for stopping by appreciate it hope you subscribe to the channel take care and God bless.
