I believe Rambo's explosive arrow tips would be triggered by an impact on a detonator or percussion cap in the tip of the charge. His arrows would probably have been C4 or Semtex, which can be triggered by a blasting cap rigged up to detonate on impact, much like how an artillery shell is safe to handle without the fuze screwed into the tip of the shell.
Most people don't know that a shotgun or rifle primer can detonate high explosives, you could put one on the tip of the charge and detonate a binary charge.
You could use a deacceleration trigger. Basically a heavy firing pin in the back, on impact inertia slams it in the primer. Can't go off at launch no matter how hard, as the force goes in the back of the casing, away from the sensitive part.

It just can not be done. Both mi-28 and mi-24/35 are protected from 23/20 mm HEi single hits and in some vital points from 30 mm he and 20 mm ap. In afghan war mi 24 often tanked not only HMG and autocannon hits but stinger aa missiles direct hits and was able to return to base after. Even rpg rocket in some cases was insufficient to bring down russian gunships. And mujaheedi are best rpg users in the world and such hits happened not once or twice. Sometimes you had to drill out a small hole in the bottom where the arrow head screwed in to let the spark reach the powder.
rambo shoot down soviot AH with that
Angah Tse so good 🤣
It just can not be done. Probability of hitting mi-24 even with m-203 grenade is low. Chance to kill chopper with it is close to 0. m-203 launcher send its projectile much faster than bow, and grenade itself carry more HE. Said arrowhead grenades may have some potential against civilian transport and personnel, not too high
@@doombringer3498 Rambo did it.
@@doombringer3498 Mi-24 doesn't "tank" manpads, especialy infrared homing like Stinger. It is incredibly lucky to survive a single direct hit.
@@lkvideos7181 it's not even intended to. But it happened, thx to twin engines.
When I was a kid we used to fill hollow aluminum arrow shafts with fast burning shotgun powder and glue in a shotgun primer into the business end with a BB taped to it. Any hard surface you hit turned it into tiny pieces of shrapnel. Worked as well as this guys stuff did and no expensive engineering.
Sounds like you had fun.

I mean, seems like you could use a spent CO2 cartridge, black powder and a percussion cap to make this type of thing much more affordably.
I don't remember Rambo using MacGyver arrows.🙄
Great for when the fecal matter violently interfaces with the rotary wind generator.
You mean when the Defecant meets the rotating oscillator?
I love the Rambo movies especially the first one and the forth one
RIGHT. I'm in NH. I have no idea how to use Insagram.
Same here, In R.I. .. All of that social media stuff hurts my brain.. 🍻🍻🇺🇸🇺🇸
You have 30 days to figure it out, big guy :D
@@StrangerOman I've made an attempt, but I'm not sure I was successful.
Lol! We’ll figure it out. UA-cam removed the direct message feature yesterday for good 😑
@@Fullmag UA-cam must not like me, I've literally never had access to the direct message system in youtube.
Dukes of Hazzard just did it with dynamite. How simple is that.🤣
Uncle Schickelgrubber and if you go to John Schneider's UA-cam page and look in his videos, he actually recreated this😎👍💥
The actual broadheads used in the movie were the old style Razorback rotating broadheads with the protective cover still on them. There are a few scenes where you can tell pretty easily. A friend of mine used to use these broadheads exclusively when they were still available and the protective cover is pretty easy to distinguish.
LOL, I just said the exact same thing before I got to your comment. I definitely agree.
Petition to bring back we live in America. Only weaponry we shouldn't have as civilians are missiles, aircraft, tanks and warships all other military weaponry it's our right as American citizens to own and you can argue that in court and you will win no law that can be created overpowers basic human rights as this.
@@joebone3151 Well, sort of, yes ... But you will definitely lose the court and declare you a criminal and then you will lose access to the weapons that are now available.
@@joebone3151 No one has yet won a lawsuit for possession of an illegal machine gun (well, I'm talking about real machine guns and not crafts with moving butts) or possession of, for example, grenades without a license for all this, so you have very bad advice

I'd take that job :-)
When I was a kid we made these using .22 casings with metal bbs glued to the primer. They were pretty effective, especially if you filled the inside of the arrow with gunpowder

America, the weak should fear the strong.
VOD is the actual velocity of the detonation (how quickly the blast wave is propagating) not the required velocity to initiate it. You are referring to it's sensitivity. Spent the last 12 years dealing with explosives in one way or another, 7 of those years was as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Specialist in the US Army.
How would u make it?
I enjoy the idea that shooting an arrow too quickly would initiate the explosives.
This is great 👍 thanks for showing this !
10:15 OMG the arms of this guy are so steady if in slowmo they don't move incredible
If he using composite bow it gonna hurt his finger expecially his thumb. And also that technique more tiring for hand than on back..
"Hopefully, it turns out okay...!?" ='s "Hold my beer..." 🤣🤣🤣
As big as these arrowheads are, I'm surprised they fly true...
like anything falling, normally goes heavy end first.. so once they're off the bow I assumed they'd fly nose down..
then again I'm a 100 pound draw longbow archer. I'd be launched those at almost a 30 degree angle...
think what would happen if it shot direct to your face
Harley Me well, when the center of gravity is that far out on one side, it’s gonna be real stable. unless you have something on the arrow that causes a significant amount of aero forces beyond the normal drag of the arrow itself, it’ll follow a ballistic arc just fine.
As long as the front is heavier than the back and it has good feathers it will fly pretty true as long as it's not a ridiculous amount of weight
@@zorod-ace3844 You wouldn't have a face anymore! 😳
The real hero of this video is that table holding that watermelon and that gelatin block. Not a single scratch even after two full explosions.
The original Hollywood "exploding arrowhead" was a Razorback 5 broad head with it's plastic blade cover glued on and painted gold.
James Cooper He is not old enough to remember Razorback 5 broadheads
I killed quite a few deer with the razobak 4s
I thought you won the lottery and disappeared!!
Glad to find you your still active and was great seeing you at the coffee shop opening!
That moment at 07:00 where you almost tapped the tip of the arrow on the ground when you kneeled... O.o
@V O sorry to hear that:(
If I remember correctly, the helicopter in that final scene wasn't an actual Soviet Mi-8 but a US chopper dressed up like one. The Mi-8 wouldn't have exploded like that, and not just because it's armored like a light tank.
"Send you some Bitcoin or something cause shipping be crazy."
