- The question is, can I beat a Pokemon Hardcore Nuzlocke challenge in FireRed version using only trash Pokemon? Well, it's a short question, but with a long answer, get some popcorn and a beverage and hope you enjoy!

Rules of the challenge:
Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch the Type Pokémon on each Route (Species Clause)
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode
"Trash Pokémon" isn't really a term you can apply to Kadabra, low BST or not.
Probably could add a rule to exclude mons that have 2 base stats over 90 or a 100
I mean I feel like he needs some decent mons to make this work in every challenge there are mons that are better then others
Exactly. Kadabra may not have the best Defense, but it's still a pretty good Pokémon.
@@robschwegler101 We realistically already know that Kadabra can beat the whole game by itself, so when you add more Pokémon, no matter how low they are, you know it will be easy. I think excluding Pokémon like Kadabra, following examples like when Scyther is banned in Little Cup in competitive, would be sensible.

It does
Porygon with Recover Thunderbolt Ice Beam and Psychic absolutely destroys the game. Agility is also really helpful for patching up it's speed. Only real annoyance in the run is the rivals Alakazam
Butterfree is cracked in FRLG. A combo of compound eyes, sleep powder and dream eater make is untouchable. I'd often toss whirlwind on it as well, and put the entire opposing team to sleep, using dream eater whenever they get a hit on me with an early sleep wake up.

Probably need to make an exception for kadabra. He's clearly not a trash mon even if his stat total is just barely low enough to be considered one.
Everyone says this, but Kadabra is fine for a challenge like this. He has 30 defense, one bad rng and Kadabra is gone
@@starfishkol1155 And yet with the same stat totals in gen 2 kadabra was considered S tier for casual playthroughs. Just goes to show that with a strong movepool on a sweeper you don't need anything else.
Besides the point to making the exception is acknowledging the fact that kadabra is being used as a crutch in every trash mon challenge. He has 400 BST so he's literally right on the line anyway.
@@cmck362 "as a crutch" this is a trash mom challenge you'll find your one heavy hitter and they'll be your crutch. Its how you win? He's just getting better at the game every time he plays so Kadabra doesn't die.

I'm so tired of people calling Abra line being trash. It has in amazing special. Over power for a trash lock.......
It excels in one area but still has the base stat requirement to be considered trash.
Yeah, it may have terrible Defense, but it's still a really good Pokémon.
So all I've ever wanted to do is have a mon that knows all the elemental punches and solo the game. Unfortunately my favorite gen is 3 and they are all special attacks. Can you do a gen 4+ solo with Hitmonchan where his elemental punches will actually do something? please?
Kadabra needs to be banned. Abra can solo easily and kadabra is much stronger. It's speed and special are among the highest ever beating most legendaries. It's in nno way a trash pokemon
And Calm Mind Recover is utterly busted as well. No surprise it beat 18 out of 26 Pokémon in the League.

actually, they aren't. ivysaur is 405 and raticate is 413. i see why you thought that though; their efficacy is on par with a lot of sub-400 mons

I've done this challenge on Emerald and it took me 12 straight hours IRL on x16 speed on my PC this is absolutely insane. I had 48 hours on x16 speed.

That's standard Nuzlocke rules, mate. However, most people play with Dupes Clause, meaning that they can skip Pokémon they have caught before.

can I recommend doing this without evs or with evs molded out. It's just too much of an advantage over the ai.
I'd rather an ev trained kadabra than a non ev trained allakazam and with the ai all having no evs.

I mean, it's the gameplan. Did I make it to the end with that gameplan or did I have to modify it and fill in holes where I didn't anticipate? That's my perspective on it.
Challenge suggestion: game of choice, hard-core nuzlocke with two random types (rolling dice, random number generator, etc). If you wipe, re-roll your allowed types!

I love the constant complaints about kadabara. Like do they realize it's a hardcore nuzlocke. No overleveling and some bad rng can kill kadabara
Don't need to overlevel when you outspeed like 95% of the mandatory fights.
Bad rng for the moves the ennemy might use yeah I guess so, but to be fair it's easy to just check which trainers have dark/ghost/bug coverages and avoid speedy electrodes.
Well nevermind kadabra also outspeeds all elite 4 threats to his fragile buttcheeks.

You should had add the rules of using Pokemon under 400 BST and are in NU Smogon Tier.
Growlithe wasn't really necessary for the Grass gym anyway with Pidgeotto, Beedrill and Kadabra in the party

I'm not sure if you'll see this, but why not do some Yu-Gi-Oh challenges? Like only single copies of monsters, only OTK, whatever! And the game wouldn't matter, though I'm sure playing with cards or on Master Duel would be most preferred. Just an idea

I've got a challenge nuzlocke use any pokemon but you can only use the pokemons type ei bulbasaur only grass and poison moves and charmander fire moves only I'd like to see that maybe a different gen tho like gen 4 platinum
So, for example Murkrow can only use Dark and Flying moves, Dragonite can only use Dragon and Flying moves, and Skarmory can only use Steel and Flying moves?

So gen 1 would be fight Gary get poke balls find first encounter on each route and then use same type moves or switch train till they have one
