Had my 7Mag for 15 years and it still shoots sub moa with factory ammo. My favorite caliber for sure, it will drop anything I will ever hunt. I will say one thing about Remington, they have gone to crap in their QC since being bought out, I wouldn't but any of their new rifles ( or their ammo) personally. I am a Savage guy myself, every one I own shoots sub moa with factory ammo out of the box.

I'm glad yours is shooting well. I bought a Remington 700 ADL in 7mm rem mag some years ago that would not shoot better than a 6" group at 100 yard. Thought maybe it was the scope and rings. After 3 different scope and ring combinations I finally sent the gun back to remington. They said it had a bad barrel and supposedly changed the barrel and sent the gun back to me. Still 6" groups at 100 yards. Got 5 different people to shoot that rifle one of which shoots f class competitions and does well. None of them could get the gun to shoot better than 6" at 100 yards. I finally gave up and traded the rifle for a used bow. The person I traded it to only wanted the action out of it. Alas with nothing of the gun left but the bolt and receiver it would still not shoot better than 3" at 100 yards. He replaced the barrel, stock, trigger, everything and the gun still shot like crap. Since then Remington has lost me as a customer. Again I'm glad yours is shooting well though. If anyone reading this knows what might have been wrong with that gun please reply and let me know. I'd love to know what could have been wrong with it.

If I could own only 3 guns .1 would be a 22 bolt action rimfire. 1 would be a 12 gauge shotgun and 1 would be a 7mm rem mag. For anything in north america its supreme. With good partitions bullets in 175 gr it will take even the largest bears .As always shot placement is critical even with the bigger calibers like the 338 win or 340 weatherby .

The 7 mag and 300 are more comparable than the 3006 or 270 the 7 300 and even 270 are in a whole other class than the 3006. The 7mm and 300 are for the big boys shooting anything from whitetail to elk and moose and 600+ yards. The 3006 is a brush gun. It has its place but ballistics and trajectory (long range) the 7mm and 300 walk all over it and so does the 270 except for knockdown power

I have a "Natural" boresight...pull the bolt and look through barrel and see if close to scope sighting. Then fire one off into backdrop to warm/foul it up. Them shoot at target. I then make sure I have a rock solid rifle rest, look through the scope and adjust my reticle to where bullet hit. Another 2 shots to make sure it is where I want, then let rifle cool down for at least 20 minutes. Take another cold barrel shot + 1 to make sure it impacts where I want and call it good. If it is my LR load then I wait for a cool down again and do a 3 shot string at 300, 500, 700 and then either 900 or a 1,000 for range data and Mil holds. For hunting I never "Shoot!"...."I hunt" and that means stalking to within at least 300 yds minimum. If I have good cover, wind, sun then I try to get as close as possible 50-100 or call them in (moose/elk/yotes). Worked well for over 60 years before all the fancy gadgets. Love the 7 mag.

If 4 clicks at 100 yd is 1 inch, 4 at 50 yd = .5 in, and 4 at 25 yd = .25 in. So if you are off bullseye at 25 then it's way off at 200 I know where you hunt that it will probable get the job done. I do about the same because I have 50 yd to sight in .5 to 1 in. is good for me where I hunt too. Have fun and keep the videos coming !!!

I bough a 7MM Winchester from Gunbroker. I thought I'd gotten a good deal, but when I took it to the range it shot HORRIBLE. First group 5 inches, second group 2 inches, third group 5 inches, fourth group 9 inches. I asked a friend who is a competition shooter about it. He told me that too many guys will buy a 7MAG, take it to the range, and instead of breaking it in properly will pump a box of shells through it. The heat and pressure of the 7MAG can CRACK THE THROAT of the rifle. I checked it with a bore scope and, sure enough. I tried fire lapping it, but to no avail. In process of getting it re barreled. :(

I just watched the 300 wsm video then this one. The recoil looked brutal on the 300. I'm a small guy so that worries me. I hunted for more then 25 year's with a Remington 7400 30-06. I got tired of destroying the meat so I dropped down to a .223. I'm looking for a larger gun for long range and moose.

I'm with ye bro. A 7 Rem Mag is not a heavy kicker. I have a How's 1500 Zeiss package in 7mm Rem Mag, it's not a bad kicker at all.

I had the Remington 710 version of this rifle in the the same caliber back a few years ago until it was stolen. Loved that rifle in that caliber and because of the cost. My only gripe is that it was only the magazine only held three rounds. I would love to see this rifle, in the same caliber, with a 10 shot magazine.

I too was told that the 7mm Rem mag has some serious recoil.......what recoil?!??! Even the 180 grain rounds I shot through it weren't bad. I was told that the 30.06's kick worse........The 710 was my first rifle purchase.....I miss her.....😪

The Remington 770 is junk. I picked up a 7mm Rem Mag 770 for $125 at Walmart in early 2020 when they were having a mega-sale on firearms. I had heard about the problems with this rifle and told myself I would never buy one. Well, I was feeling lucky when the price dropped so low... and I got what I paid for. After 4 rounds on my first trip to the range it stopped working correctly. It will not chamber a round and close the bolt. I've tried several different brands of ammo, and it will not close the bolt all the way. Ultimately I fixed it. I fixed it by spending money on a quality rifle for quite a bit more money.
