Hi mate Hello friend, Remington is still manufacturing that bullet because I have asked in several gun stores in Spain and all the stores have them sold out. thank you
7mm Remington Magnum is my all time favorite long range cartridge. I’ve done a few 400 plus or minus a few yard deer kills with 150 Nosler ballistic tips running a shade over 3100 fps but more often than not, shots are normal at 150 or less. It’s a deer whackin cartridge. I got a two deer for one shot once with this same load. Not intentionally but only because the smaller deer was directly behind the one I was targeting. There were 12 deer that I could see at the time. My targeted deer was a nice doe that weighed 164 lbs and the incidental deer was another doe that weighed 112 lbs. The shot was made at 146 yards. I took my personal best 10 pointer with 23” spread and 9-1/4 inch tall brow tines weighing in at 193 lbs with the same load. My rifle is a Savage. It’s preferred factory loads are Federal Premium that used to be available with the Nosler Ballistic Tip Boat Tail bullets claimed to give 3110 fps. It would shoot .6 of an inch groups off of bags. I’ve never had a sled to shoot off of. I always sighted mine 1” high at 100.
Pretty hard to complain with this accuracy! I hunt on stand with a Tikka 7mm Mag. When I making deer drives I go with my Tikka 308 or my CZ527 7.62X39mm. I've done this for many, many years. The high velocity of the 7mm Mag requires a proper bullet that won't explode at very close range but still opens well at long range. My go to bullet is what I like in all rifle calibers (except where not available like the 7.62X39mm), the Nosler Partition. In 7mm Mag it truly flattens deer
That's a beauty. Great round. Great caliber. Can't go wrong with that. Mine liked 150 grainers too. Took a few whitetail, an elk, a black bear, and my brother took a moose with it. That's cool your goal of a deer with every caliber. I've done it with quite a few but nowhere near all of them! Lol. Go get em brother! 👍👍
My Favorite caliber is the 264 Winchester Magnum But I also have a 7mm Mag and I’ve killed A lot of deer with it and I can honestly say that I’ve never had a Deer run any further than 10 yards with Both Calibers. In 75% of the shots they hit the ground where they stood when I snapped the trigger. You’re gonna love the 7mm Magnum it’s a definite Deer not going anywhere Caliber.
Oooooh!! There are only 2 other rifles I like more than the Sako S20. That is a dream rig you were shooting today. Brilliant shooting. You can call it DOPE, you build the data based upon previous engagements, which does not necessarily need to have been at the calculated distances. Just like you calculated and then verified is text book.
Wow Adam. That is some fine shoot'n. I really love the 7 Rem Mag. As I think I've told you I'm a huge fan of the 270 Winchester. For over 50+ years I've done load developing for not only the 270 Win but also the 7MM Rem Mag, the 30-06, the 300 Win Mag and many many more cartridges. Lately I've been focusing on my 270 Winchester Weatherby Vanguard with the 24 inch barrel. Last year on 9/22/22 I loaded up some Hornady 145eldx bullets and I got 3177 feet per second out of it. With a .315 sub MOA grouping. Well this past Monday on the 16th of October I took it out with the same bullets and load but loaded it 1 grain more than last years load. I got 3207 feet per second out of it. I backed it up with 3 more rounds ranging from 3204 to 3200 fps. That's right. 3207fps out of a 270 Winchester with 145grn eldx bullets. The grouping was still sub moa. That is going to be a very good Hunting load.
The new Remington tipped are really impressive. I was a Winchester ammo 100 % till the ammo shortage had to buy Remington and that's what I'll be using from now on
Very impressive results with the Sako and Core-Lokt Tipped, "The Deadliest Tipped Mushroom in the Woods!" My initial results with 140 grain CLT in 280 Rem were not good. It was early after Vista took over Rem Ammunition. Groups at 100 yards were all over 2" with a couple hang fires in a box of 20. After watching your success, think CLT deserves another try. Thank you for the video.
I use a lead sled too! Having hunted 60+ years snd reloading and collecting rifles the old body gets where you need a little help when sighting in yo make sure it’s right on! I am a big fan of Sako rifles having owned hundreds of rifles over the years I have found the Sako’s are one of the very best for shooting sub MOA with factory ammo even though I reload too.
Adam , Wow! Great shooting . I was at the range this afternoon sighting in a 270 and a 3006 both of my rifles had bi pods . I nearly printed the same 3 shot group. Yes they would have taken a Deer but I can do better. Something you said that convinced me to buy a lead sled . Taking yourself out of the equation.
S20+Banish+ZeroTech+ Core-Lokt Tipped: Seems like quite the suh-weet combo you've got there! Great video! Thanks for sharing. I hope you're having good fortune finding critters this season.
That was some darn good shooting Adam! I just recently acquired myself a Remington 7mm mag. It is of the older ones in the 700 model. Somewhere around 64 I think. Haven’t shot it yet. Waiting to put my Blackhound 3x18x50 on it. Hope it shoots just a little like yours!
Outstanding performance. Yes take this one deer catching. ..and don't forget the BFR pistola in 450BM either..we would like to see you catch one with that WhoteeWho. Be blessed everyone.
Based mostly on this review and others, I picked up my sako s20 about three months ago. (I like the precision stalk better than the thumb hole stalk.) Developing loads now. Best group so far, was .224 @100 yards. 175 grain berger, h1000 powder, .015 off the lands.... Incredible accuracy - especially for a Magnum caliber!
Hello Friend how are you ? Thank you for your excellent videos, I listened to you and bought the Sako S20 in 7mmRm. It is an excellent rifle. But my question is, are Remington bullets really the best? Since I live in Spain and in gun stores they tell me that Sako bullets do better. Thank you, I await your response.🎉🎉
Great video WTW!! I love the 7mm Rem Mag and definitely want to see a hunt with this one. That was some awesome shooting too. I really loved seeing the 1000 yard footage as it reminded me of when I took my 7mm Rem Mag out to 1000 last month at the Dead Zero range.
Hello, hello, I followed your advice from your videos and I have bought, apart from the same rifle in the same caliber, I have also finally managed to buy some boxes with the same ammunition, my idea is to be able to hunt at a maximum of 350 meters. Could you tell me which app you use to calculate ballistics? I will use ( MIL) since I am from Spain. Thank you for your incredible videos for being so spontaneous and easy to explain.
@@WHOTEEWHO thank so much for your answer. I again amazing videos friend. I hope you can make a video hunting deer with the sako s20 and bullets Remington tipped.💪💪
I gave up my beloved .30-06 this year for a .243 as the arthritis in my shoulder can’t handle recoil like it used to. How’s the recoil of the 7mm Mag compared to the ‘06 and the .243? The 7mm seems so versatile, it has my interest.
If you can hunt with a suppressor where you live it’s a damn good way to get rid of some recoil, and as other have said if you can’t handle the 06 anymore then 7 mag is certainly a no-go. If you have been hunting with the same old 06 for good while replacing the butt pad can be a real game changer. I know my old 270 was getting a bit brutal to shoot, and swapping out that old hard pad to a new Limb Saver made it into a whole different rifle to shoot. Quick and easy mod that could make that old rifle comfortable to shoot again.
Love my Ruger M77 in 7mm Rem Mag. I’ve had this rifle for 30 yrs. Taken many Whitetail with it. I have many others but this is my favorite hunting rifle. By the way, what shoulder harness do you have in this video? I’ve been looking for one.
It appears like a good rifle/ammo combo! What surprised me is it also appeared that when you moved to scope adjustment left... the POI didn't seem to move left.
Those new tipped rems look like sierra tipped gamekings. If so they are a great bullet. Everything i shoot them in will shoot tight groups. Plus they have decent bc
Thats why I keep on saying: Get a Tikka T3 X. It’s the cheaper version of the Sako. Same barrel, from the same factory, just a cheaper stock and action. But it shoots like competition rifle. CHEAP AND ACCURATE
I bought a few boxes of this for my .280, but I was not getting great groups out of it. I shot a few .15" and .19" groups with the same gun using Barnes TTSX loads. The new Tipped rounds shot just at 1", which is still good, just not quite what the gun is capable of though. Maybe the second box will be better.
Never had a 7mm rem mag but i do hve a CZ 550 in 7x57 and its a grea rifle have been thinking to get a 7mm prc but i might just have to get one of these S20 in 7mm rem mag great shooting gun.
I’d go with the prc, it’s a little bit better in every way. Looking at the velocity it doesn’t look like it wins, but when you take into consideration that the prc is done with a 20 inch barrel instead of a 26 like the rem mag then the prc is the clear winner. In most cases the difference won’t make any difference, but why not get every advantage a person can get when your buying a new gun anyway. Not going to get rid of my 7 rem mag because I already have it, but if I was looking for a new rifle I’d definitely be getting one of the newer cartridges that have been optimized by learning from the last 75 years of precision shooting. I don’t have any 30 cal magnums yet, so when I decide to pull that proverbial trigger it will likely be the 300 prc.
Nice shooting WTW. You could hunt mice with that bullet slinger! I’m happy if I’m within 2 inches of the bullseye, but then again it’s rare to have a shot over 50 yards in NH unless your hunting a field or power line. Thanks for the video.
WTW.....can you get a Remington 700 long Range in 7mm Rem mag to put up against this Sako. I'm curious with longer barell and bull barrel. More close to a budget rifle vs the premium. And it would be sweet to do a long range shoot out.
Absolutely love the Sako S20, also the 7mm mag. Great choice man. Better start buying ammo....shortage coming soon...Vista Outdoor, parent company of 41 renowned brands that design, manufacture and market sporting and outdoor products to consumers around the globe, announced a definitive agreement to sell its Sporting Products business to Czechoslovak Group (CSG) on Oct. 1. The value of the all-cash transaction is $1.91 billion and includes ownership transfer of some of the industry’s biggest names in ammunition, including Federal, CCI, Remington Ammo, Speer and Hevi-Shot.
There is speculation that most if not all of the ammo, and or components will be utilized for the global conflicts. Also the priorities are EU countries for supplies, which that company has stated. @@WHOTEEWHO
@Frostytravels I suppose possible - but they don't need hunting ammo for all that. From what I understand all the employees and big wigs are staying the same. I will see what I can find out w my contacts
The Biden administration has reportedly ordered an ammunition manufacturer to stop selling Americans some 5.56mm rounds, which is the most common for the AR-15 semi-automatic rifle. In an effort to severely limit the sale of ammo used in AR-15s, the U.S. military has ordered Winchester - which manages the U.S. Army’s Lake City ammunition plant - to stop selling its excess M855/SS109 (5.56mm) ammo to the public, The Truth About Guns reported citing a source close to the matter. The Lake City plant, located in Independence, Missouri, produces nearly 30 percent of the commercial market’s sales of 5.56 ammo. Larry Keane, the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s general counsel and senior vice president, first revealed the administration’s plans in a tweet on Wednesday. @@WHOTEEWHO
What length barrel is that? I have the Bergara wilderness terrain in 7mm RM with a 24” barrel that I shoot the core-lokt tipped in. It’s a .3-.4 inch group at 100 as well. Best grouping round I have found yet for it. Good luck with it this year.
What caliber/rifle would you recommend for getting into long range hunting and shooting? I have been looking into the 7mm and the 300win, 300prc and so on. Thanks for the help
LOL been shooting 7mm Rem Mag for decades. Core-Lokt has always worked:), though I've always been a Nosler guy myself. In either event, 7mm Rem Mag has always been a bit much for whitetail unless you're REALLY reaching way out there. For big mule deer and elk it's about as good as it gets. Careful of your shot placement or you might waste a bunch of good eating....That Sako is a shooting sob. By the way, my 7 is the old all steel Browning BLR lever gun. A tad heavier, but a 'same hole' shooter as well, AND, with my longer barrel, 3200 fps at the muzzle with the 150gr. rounds is what I see. Last thing, nice scope!
Hey Adam. Great shooting with that really fine boom stick. I noticed you close your off eye when shooting. Have you tried leaving your eye open? I learned to do it with some practice and it really helps you be more relaxed and focus on your reticle. Just a thought. Keep slingin em friend.
I want to know what destruction the tipped bullets do to meat. The new lead tipped core loc doesn't shoot nowhere close to the original bullets. Remington has definitely changed something.
Thats what ive took all my deer with usually drop in there tracks had one run 10 yards once he was a big body ate 175gr lead nose no heart or lungs in him
I have that same rifle, s20. It shot well but I know it could shoot better, bugged the poop out of me because right where the fluting starts it has a dimple that you can feel when you run a snug patch through it. Yet it will eventually get "worked" out. Fruitless effort to have sent it for repair...I seemly don't know my a$$ from a hole in the ground. Supposedly their Beretta "best gunsmith" didn't find a problem. Don't get me wrong it will shoot close to yours but "IF" I miss an Elk, you know what the fault will be. LOL 150grs seem to be the best. The ELDXs are pretty good. I am waiting for my custom riser so I can mount a Burris Eliminator. Until then I have a 5x25 HD on it. Also I hope we don't run into supply issues with Remington Ammo and the new owners.. Great video as always.
I've been wanting a 7mm mag for a while, I have a 7mm-08 that I love!
Corlock works in my 7 mag and 30-06 but it sprays all over the place in my 7mm08 yet hornady whitetail it’s a tack driver👍thanks for the upload
I'm taking a road trip to Manchester this December to go the famous Tullavers Pawn Shop! Hope I run into you!

I need to but they are expensive
But still less than the Sako s20 both sweet guns. American steel vs Finland steel 😂
I don't see how that translates to a shortage 🤔
@@WHOTEEWHO
I have heard its a component issue not so much type of ammo.

Great job, you should go ahead and reserve some freezer space at the processor.😋
What length barrel is that? I have the Bergara wilderness terrain in 7mm RM with a 24” barrel that I shoot the core-lokt tipped in. It’s a .3-.4 inch group at 100 as well. Best grouping round I have found yet for it. Good luck with it this year.
Can’t go wrong with a traditional cup and core for accuracy
Love the numbers. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Sweet shootin gun with workin man ammo.
Great set up buddy
Great shooting
remington ammo has been sold to csg. also cci, federal and a couple (few) more brands. not us any more!
Good shooting!
What caliber/rifle would you recommend for getting into long range hunting and shooting? I have been looking into the 7mm and the 300win, 300prc and so on. Thanks for the help
All of thr prcs are good. My personal new favorite is 7mm prc. Really can't go wrong w 7mm mag or 300wm either
@WHOTEEWHO ok thx I am going to get the ruger go wild 7mm prc. Your videos sold me on that and going top it with a blackhound most likely.
Now that’s a group…👍
Ha man... now I have to buy a sako s20...
🤣🤣🤣
Hey Adam. Great shooting with that really fine boom stick. I noticed you close your off eye when shooting. Have you tried leaving your eye open? I learned to do it with some practice and it really helps you be more relaxed and focus on your reticle. Just a thought. Keep slingin em friend.
I shoot everything one eye. Just works better for me
Cool beans. I ain't mad at ya! You shut that eye and keep on slingin! It seems to work well for you. If it ain't broke....@@WHOTEEWHO
Man oh man, she's a shooter 😊
What is the overall cartridge length on them thank you
That's a lot of freedom seed sender for a white tail.
Why shoot anything else? Fantastic shooting. Great rifle.
❤❤❤
Oh yeah please carry that rascal this year!!
Great Video
Looking good!
LOL
150grs seem to be the best. The ELDXs are pretty good. I am waiting for my custom riser so I can mount a Burris Eliminator. Until then I have a 5x25 HD on it.
Also I hope we don't run into supply issues with Remington Ammo and the new owners..
Great video as always.
That’s unreal
Plenty good for deer or elk hunting this season . Itll hit where youre aiming everytime up to at least 300 yds
🦌🦌🦌
I really like this video .👏👏👏👏💯
Thanks for watching
