This drummer DOES NOT SUCK. He does rush the tempo sometimes but that because he's an ANIMAL on the kit. It's rare and welcome change that I see a drummer get so engrossed with a song that he is on the brink of exploding! He also can hit very hard and fast for an entire show which isn't easy. This guy is kick-ass in my book.
Best performance ever, I adore everything in this performance. The beasty drumming. Marks badass voice. The guitar riffs from Josh and Troy that go perfectly in sync and the awsomely fitting bass!
Joey always gave a punk hardcore vibe to qotsa. He is really unique. maybe sometimes he sped too much the songs...but it gave them this incontrollable and furious result. he is a master in his job. And every qotsa drummer has a particular bless. No one of them is better than the others.
I ve never seen a drummer, who is so looking forward to a song like Joey! It just wants to comes out of him! He is playin the ride like a crash and he`s so quick and full of energy even after hours on stage! This song is just made for him! Thanks to Dave Grohl! You guys are my favourite drummers!
This is more like heavy engineering than heavy metal. The end result should be some kind of Chelsea tractor with 4x4 and overdrive. A melted chromium cover. Some blades from the hubcaps. Lots of halogen downlighters and puddle guards. Complete excess.
castillo never keep the time, always play it faster, that's awesome, that's how live music must sound, a big wall of energy and power!!! castillo is amazing!
I always told myself, for a Singer to be good, they must be all over the place... with more movement to more energy they're putting out. But Lanegan proved me wrong on every level, this guy barley moved a muscle and put out more energy than I thought possible
It doesn't matter who is playing the drums! Underneath it Josh is the mastermind of it all. He just gets the GREAT musicians who can convey it the way it was meant to be. QOTSA has a big family tree with Josh at the top, the change up is what keeps it fresh. It's not about who is better, just enjoy the music.
Wow, what an awesome performance! This song never really stood out to me on the cd, but this clip made me find new appreciation for it. Now, I keep listening to it over and over again! THANX FOR SHARING!
Let's start with that smirk that Mark gives the camera at .30 seconds in, as if to say, " I know something you don't." then that classic snarl he gives at 4:45, a total punk and he knows it. (And we love him for it) That sort of Morrison-esque, brood and stance, clutching the microphone. Holding on for the ride. Then, at 5:29 drops his arm from the mic,...clearly he is MISTRO..... damn perfection. No one growls like you anymore !!! And now I must collect my spewed brain matter up off the floor....A toast to Mark Flanegan .
What a great lineup. I must say I'm not super upset that nick is gone, but they did kick fucking ass with this lineup. I must say that Troy and Josh playing and writing together does not get nearly enough credit. There's a more recent live version of this where they do back to back solos and it's fucking INCREDIBLE... Troy was just what QOTSA needed after this tour and album. Same with Joey -- what a powerhouse -- you can tell nick loves playing with him
Auto Pilot is Nick and Mexicola is Josh. But nice argument Mark and Nick have awesome voices and perfect match for Queens! Really miss those times and sick lyrics haha
That guy is Mark Lanegan and that is just his style - not everybody has to jump around when they sing. We can't all be the same. I kinda like it that he just stands there and sings his heart out. It suits him imo.
I just love how Mark just goes off stage without saying a word

Yea I was so use to ghrol perfect tempo but I like the way this gorilla smashes them drums
Only 1,000x faster than the studio version.
+Cap'nMajors You ever played live? It's really tough to go slow! All the adrenaline make you crazy.
Yeah I have. I'm just saying they played it really fast
Goshh it just makes it even better
The studio version should be this fast ngl

Marks voice sounds like raw QOTSA-guitartune that's why they're such a perfect match...
Love how Lanegan just walks of stage at the end; "My work here is done."
Seems like Josh started way slower and then the whole band sped up to match Joey's pace after the drum intro. They rolled with it well.
this is still, without a doubt, the best version of this fucking song they've ever played
Light Speed
Eargasm!! JOEY THE BEAST CASTILLO!!
Joey looks like a Maori Warrior getting ready for battle!!!
Mark Lanegan sings awesome

Dude he's PLAYING THE RIDE LIKE A CRASH 🔥🔥🔥🔥

One of the greatest albums ever! Hands down! The whole radio theme was a froggin stroke of genius
Mark Lanegan just oozes 'badass'.

Their guitar tones are amazing here!
Lanegan's voice is even more huskier than usuall.Love it.
This is more like heavy engineering than heavy metal. The end result should be some kind of Chelsea tractor with 4x4 and overdrive. A melted chromium cover. Some blades from the hubcaps. Lots of halogen downlighters and puddle guards. Complete excess.

fuuuck...epic performance .....just look at this beast on the drums...woooooooooow
i just saw them in concert last night, as this was the best live song.
I do believe this video contains the best rock band of the last ten years.
Doesn't get much better than this
Mark's voice is SO BRUTAL.
this is without a doubt the best version of this song ive heard so far. Mark's everything is just so good here.
one of the best performance I've ever seen
This is what all kid bands should aspire to. The world would be a better place.
Hey, I'm almost 50 years old ... this is what rock (' roll) should be ... chaos!!! Makes your parents run!!! Great stuff!!!
how can you not smile and say hot damn at the beginning of the song with that distortion and when everything kicks in!
Mark Lanegan, he also sings Haning' Tree, God is in the Radio, backing vocals for A Song for the Deaf, In the Fade, etc
I always told myself, for a Singer to be good, they must be all over the place... with more movement to more energy they're putting out. But Lanegan proved me wrong on every level, this guy barley moved a muscle and put out more energy than I thought possible

Sick!! Sick!!! Sick!! ... Can listen this all day long
AWESOME I'd love to see them live
Wow, what an awesome performance!
This song never really stood out to me on the cd, but this clip made me find new appreciation for it. Now, I keep listening to it over and over again! THANX FOR SHARING!
This is my favorite versions of this song!Supeeeer!Guitar+Voice=Amazing
This video was one of the first Queens performances I ever saw. How could you not fall in love?
this version is on crack and i liiiiiiike it!
So bad ass when the song stops and they all hit right on time
he is always rushing and giving more power and speed, that's his own style. that's what I love in his feeling
Let's start with that smirk that Mark gives the camera at .30 seconds in, as if to say, " I know something you don't." then that classic snarl he gives at 4:45, a total punk and he knows it. Mark always sounds like he ate a bowl of cigarettes for breakfast, without milk
This song is a complete eargasm...
Wow no fucks are given by Mark Lanegan. He's just too badass.
I don't care what anybody says, this is the pure definition of mother fucking "Rock&Roll!"
this is heart and soul...masterpiece!
still best rendtion of this track ever
What a great lineup. I must say I'm not super upset that nick is gone, but they did kick fucking ass with this lineup. fkn Love that Version
The guitars are so distorted, and I love it
i love the way josh plays
he's always kinda shaking thats cool
Auto Pilot is Nick and Mexicola is Josh.
But nice argument Mark and Nick have awesome voices and perfect match for Queens! Really miss those times and sick lyrics haha
Joey has come a long way since then. I saw them at BFD 2007 in SF and he rocked. That performance got me into the Queens.
man josh homme makes amazing riffs and solos
That's how you play the drums like a goddamn adult!
bdo refers to Big Day Out, a festival that is held in New Zealand & Australia annually.
Homme's guitar is an Ovation Ultra GP
they were only produced in 1984, only about 500 were made, Homme owns 3. They sell for around $3000 these days
Queen of the Stone Age 🔥🔥🔥
That guy is Mark Lanegan and that is just his style - not everybody has to jump around when they sing. We can't all be the same. I kinda like it that he just stands there and sings his heart out. It suits him imo.
BEAUTIFUL.
This band keeping Earnie Ball in business. A band to break strings to.
the slide is badass in this song greatest performance of this song
This is what you get when 2 whacko's lead one of the best lineup of musicians ever.
Joey doing work
Still watching this masterpiece in 2023
Both josh and joey are going nuts on this version. There isn't a better feeling like when your feeding off a frantic drummer, you feel like a GOD!
i like the slide during the choruses it sounds more spookey adds a great sound to a great song
sick drummer !!
Joey made this legendary.
I saw him with qotsa in cincinnati a few years ago. He's great live, and real cool too, i talked to him for a while after the show.
Dammit, i want this on my funeral!
And, yes, i wanna be like this drummer on the future!
The slide guitar really adds alot to the song.
nah, that's the way he roll. He's just too cool.
mark , legend
the drum intro is just awesome
IT NEEDS TO BE FUCKING LOUDER, if era vulgaris has a song anywhere near as good as this it'll be insane. JEOY is a class act, love him
So great!
That song is a milestone of metal rock
you're not the only one who feels this way
I reckon a few goodies might have went down before this gig... Mad energy...
thathas to go down as 1 of QOTSA's best performances ever!!! oh my god.......
i love the way mark says "FUCK IT!"
best lineup ever.
The song sounds beastly here!
Thats a good thing.
jimmy xmas these guys just kickass. Hard working men.
that intro drums is so awesome !!!!!!!
dudes got the coolest fucking voice. i'd give up my guitars and amps for a set of vocal chords like that.
so far so good oh my god
Joey Castillo....one hell of a drummer...
Damn, their drummer looks INTENSE. Awesome :D
The intro and exit to this song are fucking sick. And the solos. And the lyrics.
...And the bits in between.
THE DRUMMER IS A BEAST
