A North Shore Rockhounding Adventure!

- Come with me as we rockhound for agates, brecciated and ootilitic jaspers, unakite, slag, and so much more! I worked my way along the north shores of Minnesota looking for some beautiful rocks and minerals. I ended up learning about a special type of “rock” and found a few samples along the way! It was a really fun adventure and it always amazing me the diversity of rocks and minerals that you find as you travel further north. It is definitely an adventure that I can’t wait to do again soon!

Great finds. Some really cool and different ones! Some super big ones too. I love all the mica schist. The jasper was such vibrant reds. And i think most of those will look good when tumbled! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! It was a fun adventure with lots of unique finds! 😊
Very new to rockhounding, hoping to learn some things from you! Cool finds as well.
Glad you’re here! Hopefully you can find my channel useful! 😊
Very nice finds, always look forward to what you find. Your videos about searching landscaping rock was genius, I actually found some nice rocks here at work during lunches lol
Oh that’s awesome!! Landscaping rock can really turn out some beauties!!
It's always nice to go go rockhounding with you. Some interesting little finds today that might turn out to be gems once tumbled. Thanks for sharing your adventure to the lake.
Of course! I’m glad you liked the video! Rockhounding is so relaxing and fun 😊
Missed ya, but you had a good reason! Love all the agates and jaspers. Thanks for sharing. Be happy, safe and stay healthy from Benson, AZ.
Thank you!! It has been great spending some quality time with baby girl. I’m glad to be back! 😊
Hey, just found your videos and subscribed. I'm a fellow rock hound and your videos also help to calm my anxiety when I'm having an attack. So thank you for posting.
Wow that is such a compliment thank you so much!
Nice enjoyed the video.
Thank you! Glad you liked it!!
Schist is about a 4.5 and not a good candidate for the tumbler. Nice finds!
Oh good to know!! Thank you!
How do you store your cool finds? I have so much random bowls and Tupperware holding mine 😂
Great question! This is what I do-What I Do with All My Rocks and Minerals

You don't have very many days left to do that, you should get 10 or so ice cream pale full before winter sets in.
I know right! Soon the season will be over-it went so fast this year!
4:15 I have one kinda like this
I love that you not only look for agatestone ❤❤
Looks like a Robin
Oh it kind of does!
How do you tell unakite from epidote? It looks the same to me.
Great question! Unakite is actually a mix of green epidote, pink orthoclase feldspar, and Quartz. Green epidote would specifically be only green while unakite is pink, green, and whiteish 😊
Very nice 😊🇦🇺
Thank you!!
🤣🤣🤣 shift sandwich
😅😂
What is schist?
It’s a metamorphic rock that’s oriented into thin sheets making them shine!
@@AgateAriel Ok. So is it classified as Chalcedony?
