my 2018 MXP100D can be recharged at 72A from the free Elon signature HPWC that I received from Tesla referral program. In fact, you should pick the HPWC with 24" cable instead of purchasing the extension cable.
Instead of the "Tesla" Extension Cable, you could get a 14-50 Extension Cable used for RVs. A 15ft cable should cost well under $100 which is a lot better than $280 for the "Tesla" one. And at 15ft you shouldn't see any significant drop in charging speeds.
The problem i have is. The Lectron extension cord connection is waterproof. So if you're charging outside, its not a good idea to have your mobile connector exposed to the elements while connected to an extension cord. Leaving Lectron as the only real option unless you want to try wrapping everything in electrical tape or something.
Be careful with the CCS adapter. It has no controls built in, it is therefore up to the operator to limit the rate of charge to 150 kW, as this is what it’s designed for. If you don’t, there is a risk that it might overheat or even start a fire.
@@Reviewed-gx1xw weird.. even on the LOWEST setting? Best is to check what other devices are connected to that. Could be SUPER random and not near that outlet. If nothing.. try a DIFFERENT outlet
About the mobile charger, how do you switch between 110 v cable and 240 v cable. I put in 110 v cable and try to pull it out. Is there any button to push to pop out the cable or just pull out by hand. Thank you, Chris.
I’m waiting for model Y and now in my hand I got mobile connector should I keep it or should return for wall connector..? I’m confused please give me a good idea !
Hi Chris, please clarify that the Tesla to J1772 adapter does not work on a Prius Prime if the power source is Level 3 (DC). I ran into this issue with a nearby EVGo, that’s only Level 3 with a Tesla charger next to it. I bought the adapter but it didn’t work since the Prius Prime only supports AC power
The J1772 can be used to charge non tesla’s as well as the tesla’s with the help of the adapter that is included with every new tesla car purchase. But it doesn’t have some features like opening the charging lid on the car with the click of a button on the charger and so.
Hi I'm planning to purchase a model 3 and also a charger. I was looking at the J1772 tesla charger at $550 vs $475 wall charger. However I'm just confused if the J1772 has the same feature wifi connectivity as the wall charger. Tesla seems to hide something on their website (undisclosed) that part.
Also, my work has a charging station, old style plug with only 5 pins. What style plug is this? And will the adapter that comes with the Tesla work with this? Thanks
In your opinion and experience which charging system is better Electrify America or EV Go? I charge my “Y” in my garage but I want another opinion incase I need it. I took delivery on 8/25 now I think I need to get a backup. Would appreciate your opinion thanks
I have the Tesla Black Wall charger and had it installed but all he had was a 40w breaker with him it does work but on my phone app. It says 12 amp is that because of the 40 w breaker or should it not be 30 amp on the phone app.????
According to the electrician who installed my charger, by code you can pull a maximum of 10 amps under the max that is why 40 amps only gets you 30 when charging.
VW will be last to accept NACS -here’s why. Re: CCS Repudiation. Any computer programmer can reverse engineer CCS back to its original requirements specs & conclude it was “born brain dead” to be the exact opposite of what would become known as NACS, just to cynically spite Diesel Gate sanctions & intentionally deter EV adoption. VW’s greatest “success”! The chickens are coming home to VW’s roost. Pride & arrogance always precedes the fall. Not yet mentioned is whether non-NACS cars will have the “totally Tesla” seamless charging experience, including Navigation-embedded availability & pricing, plus automatic billing, along with 99% uptimes. Regardless, each use will expose previous CCS users to NACS’ diametrically opposed superiority, making them rue the day they were hoodwinked into buying into the CCS-sphere.
Question, planning on getting Y, with 14-50 wall plug on the right side of the garage, but the car will be parked on the left side. Will the mobile charging cable be long enough to reach ???

back the car into the stall so the charge port is closer, should be easy back in with all those cameras

Oh hey that's luckys area! lol how much did it cost you install the wall connector and was your panel upgraded?
I think mine was around $300? and NO upgraded panels!
New Tesla on here, how do you know what to set the amps to if you’re staying at a friend house or Airbnb?
I would do lowest if it’s an old house
Mines keep tripping the breaker after setting to the lowest amps. Any suggestions?

any specifics we need to know when getting the tesla wall charger installed at home? meaning....this isnt something i just plug in correct?
Need to hire electrician
Got my Tesla from existing inventory, so didn't have time to figure out charging. Im connecting to my dryer outlet.
I'm using an extension cord and adapter to hook up in my apartment.
@@jasonprevilon9555 my friend did that too. as long as it works
Question, why did you get rid off your RIVIAN? I’m thinking about getting the SUV RIVIAN
I currently have a Tesla model three bought it in 2018 and love it, but the Rivian seems so much bigger than the Y
rented it out! Love the car but charging needs to be better IMO

Damn kind of messed up that the Tesla doesn't provide the mobile connector for free

Thank you!
So the extension cable would be good for destination chargers...not super chargers correct
Thinking camping/towing...not un hooking
correct!
Have you planned about the FSD beta ?
Yeah I have it but because beta is on a different software I never get recent updates faster so I have it on the y but not the x yet

Hello.
Tesla to j1772 adapter works with wall chargers only not superchargers!
Full of commercial and selling products links, its so hard to trust when i see those in description.
for your convenience

Still undecided. EA is newer but EV go seems more reliable
You can just back in to your garage.

All on Lectrons website!
