- Ride along for our latest adventure out on the Olympic Peninsula! For this weekend’s trip I’m accompanied by two great friends as we embrace camping in heavy rain, redirecting our travels due to blocked roads, and trying out new gear. It’s always a great experience visiting the Peninsula this time of year and this trip certainly did not disappoint!

The gun metal wheels look sharp with the white Tacoma.
Thank you! I certainly am happy with how everything came together, though on this particular trip most of the new colors were quickly covered up by the mud 😆
As always, thanks for sharing your wonderful videos!
My pleasure, thank you very much for all your support!
crunchwraps out in the olympic national park....sounds like a great time lol
Another stellar trip. We live in Sequim and have just started overlanding. I need to start exploring to find these epic locations. Your videos have definitely inspired us to get out and have some adventure! Thank you
That's awesome to hear and thank you for the support! You live in a great area to have the Peninsula as your backyard. That whole area is my go-to year round due to so much offered out there!
so epic
I really need to get over to the peninsula one day this year , I've lived in Puyallup for almost 3 years and still haven't gone there so this year after I get back from my Texas trip I'm going to make it over there for sure .
Definitely make it happen! It's a perfect destination year round with endless places to see and explore!
maybe some rokblokz mudflaps would help with the truck cleanliness on the typical pnw weather. Another great video!
Definitely will have to consider em, thank you for the support!
Wintercamps 🙏🙏 We were out for an 6 days wintercamp, -27 degrees, Sweden. Actually made my first UA-cam movie about that expedition.
Looks fun! Good videos
Much appreciated, thank you!
Man those were some gorgeous camp spots.
Nice Buddy.
Thank you Wayne!
Great video and glad that you expanding your cooking skills and what a great spot to this winter was really bad on the Olympic Forest Record snowfall from last year took a lot of trees out on a lot of roads and there is snow in some place still that the sunlight can’t get into because there’s so many trees covering the area still Hana Hana camp ground is a huge mess of trees down in that campground there still snow up by upper ELK lake like 1 1/2 of snow was looking forward to you using the chain saw But next time ?? Glad that you guys had a good trip keep up the good work
Thank you Brian! Was certainly another great weekend on the trails. Definitely seemed to be a rough winter with the amount of downfall and road conditions though it'll only be a matter of time till we can all get through with everyone helping cut in small or big sections. Our chainsaws would have barely even made a dent in the amount of trees we came across.
최고에 오프로드 감성 캠핑 입니다 너무 잘 보고 갑니다^^
I run Goodyear Duratrac and they have been awesome overall. Good roadwear and great traction and pretty quiet on highway,
I’ve been waiting for a new video! Awesome!
Another great video
Much appreciated, thank you!
The unincorporated campground on the east side of Wynoochee used to be a favorite of mine, it was still nice last time I was there yrs ago. I started going up there when that was well over 20 miles of nasty logging Rds coming out of Montesano: wish it hadn’t of been paved.
Nice crunch wrap making skills love it
Thank you! Slowly expanding my cooking skill set... 😉
We were exploring the Hamma Hamma river area a couple weeks ago and came across some super narrow cleared down tree paths. Unfortunately, Covid put a lot of road clearings on the back burner.
Awesome views. I wish I lived closer to the PSW. Hopefully one day I get a chance to enjoy some of the areas you have been to. Thank you for the great content.
The Pacific Northwest certainly has incredible landscapes with witness no matter which direction you drive. Hopefully your travels head this direction one day, plenty to explore! Thank you for the support 👍
I was up there last weekend. No kidding on the downed trees.
It was quite a sight to see, almost every trail we came across had endless fallen trees across the road. Will certainly be quite the project to clean up over the next few weeks/ months.
Have you ever been to or explored the colville national forest? I just moved here from spokane and the difference is night and day for scenery. If you ever get time i suggest checking it out, its right up your alley 😁😌
Definitely not as much as I'd like to, it's way too far for a weekend trip though if I'm heading in that direction for exploring other areas we usually make a quick stop. Thank you for the recommendation though, hopefully we can tie in some longer extended weekends out there one day. 😉 👍
Damn, that river campsite was beautiful. I would love to know where some of these spots are
Definitely PNW weather - the real stuff. That first shot of the row of downed trees looked to have a sketchy slope above is starting to slide - be carefull, with all this saturated ground, you don't want to experience an Oso event.
I love your truck
Appreciate that, thank you!
We’re heading out that way next week. Good to know about all the downed trees. I already made a list of the roads that are closed for wildlife. Really wish the forest service still had road status online. Did you travel on FS 22 or 23?
I noticed that Benchmark Maps does put the gate closure dates on their map book for the FS-2270 Wynoochee gates. Oct. 1 to Apr. 30. By the looks of the big sign that will be in effect each year for quite some time .
really nice video, will be a new subsciber. heading out in a month's time for a four day solo trip in my 4runner trail. good looking builds and beautiful country, have fun out there and be safe.
Thank you John! Have a great time on your trip, perfect time of year to get out before the summer rush.
The downfall was crazy a couple of weeks ago when I was exploring between Wynoochee and Skokomish.
Haha. I ended up in the same campsite.
Seen you at Moore would have loved to chat a bit but the Rhino Rack booth kept me busy.
Oh right on! Maybe next time, though under the iKamper hat I'll be attending all four Overland Expos across the country, hope to see you at one of them!
..cool video keep up the great content.. Thank you…
Appreciate the support, thank you!
@@ConquestOverland Thank you very mutch... have a nice Weekend.... see you….
I'll be interested in seeing how you feel those MTs do on the road in our typical PNW weather. MTs are supposedly notoriously bad on wet tarmac and we have some of the worst. I'm considering BFG KM3s for my fair-weather toy truck but I'll probably put Toyo AT3s on my "Grand Tourer" which sees alot more highway miles. Like all gear, our climate really puts things to the test and requires certain attributes that you just don't need in other climates. (When I lived in AZ, I could leave for a weeklong trip and not even bring my rainfly - there you had to worry about sharp spines and razor-like rocks that could slice right through your shoe, foot or tire.)
Granted I don’t live in PNW (although I travel to the Olympic peninsula quite a bit for work)
I can tell you the best MT I’ve ever had in rainy weather has been the toyo open country mt. They seem to have more siping that other MTs and they wear perfectly. Hope that helps, good luck!
@@jeepchronicles5644 Interesting comment on the Toyo. I have run their AT & ATIIs for the last 20 years on several vehicles, most of which saw long road trips and dry and rocky offroad in CO, UT or the SW. While my toy truck will largely be a fair weather toy, it's always good to have decent wet weather tires in the PNW since literally anytime of year it can be wet or muddy up here. Thanks!
Nice video! I sure do miss living in the Northwest. I noticed you have a Ram mount for your tablet. I’m curious how you mounted that. I’m looking to do something similar.
Just with a dash mount by Expedition Essentials: expeditionessentials.com/collections/frontpage/products/tacoma-track-mount
Ugh! Those Southwestern Olympic Peninsula clearcuts are the worst! That one looks like an old one from back when they didn't clean up the debris at all. Those things can become impassable - I HATE them. So ugly and really just a devastated piece of land. I'm glad they do a better job of cleaning them up these days.
Can you review the 4 Runners Build? 🙏🏼
Feel free to reach out to him on IG: @evergreen_rnr
will you consider put on the front runner rack?
Not anytime soon, I'm very happy with the overall setup at this current moment. 👍
are this 4runner wonder why dey dont bring it to Australia
Love the video and adventure that u bring us. Do u think a stock RAV4 Prime able to handle the road that u cover in the video? I am planning for it. Tks Bro.
Absolutely, the roads are more pothole filled than anything! Have fun out there and safe travels, thank you for the support!
Another great video! You also swapped out your Maxx Traxx from orange to black. Truck is looking good.
Didn’t you also upgrade your front suspension set up too? (Not sure if I should mention that)
Thank you! Great eye, I did change the Maxtraxs out. Mom needed a set so it was my excuse to get new colors and get her a set for her birthday! I did also upgrade the UCA to the new Old Man Emu set. So far so good, definitely enjoy the lesser maintenance required as compared to the previous set.
What radios are y’all using, awesome video.
Just the Midland walkies
Do you guys ever hike from your camps or just drive? Seems like there would be some really good hikes around the areas you drive through.
Or a mountain bike? I would go nuts sitting around all afternoon after driving for hours…
@@jasonconnell123 hahaha I'm with you on that!
We do! Just depends on the trip and how much time we have on hand. You'd be surprised how much of the day can be consumed by simply filming it... 😉
Take a camera with you and document the adventure, you'll see how quickly the day goes by... haha
Where is this located at? I would love to Visit this place
Awesome country so beautiful. I miss living in the northwest. I do not miss the politics of the West Coast.
Gorgeous country up there! How are you liking the iKamper sleep system? Been contemplating picking one up....
Absolutely love both the air mattress and sleeping bag (not being biased 😉). The air mattress allows me to leave even more bedding in there and is very comfortable. I will say that I enjoy it even more during cold weather camping as it prevents essentially all condensation from building up underneath me due to sleeping on a pocket of air, though the new stock mattress pad did a great job as well. Definitely consider getting one!
Nice video bud👍you removed you go fast camper?
Thank you! And I did, working full time as an employee with iKamper, hence the change 😉
@@ConquestOverland thanks michael, you have a nice trail there lol, my location is here Vancouver.. take care bud
What trash bag you use at your tail gate?
Last US Bag Co.

Awesome video!! Which portable radio do you have?
Thank you! I'm currently using the basic Midland setup right now:

Came across your channel from your gofastcamper RTT truck cap. Just wondering why it got switched out?
Simple, took a dream job working at iKamper full time! 😉👍
@@ConquestOverland oh, that'll do it! Congrats =)
@@CroakerOutdoors thank you!
You may have addressed this in a previous video, but how do you find the roads you take? I recently got a Subaru and have really just been finding forest roads long main roads to take. Haven't had a chance to really do anything overnight yet.
Lots of researching on Gaia GPS and Google Earth will get you most of the way. Though having a sense of adventures and simply exploring a lot of random forest roads will also be part of the process. Also check out TrailsOffroad for helping finding established trails of all levels. 👍
How can I find groups like this hangout with and overland anyone suggest pages/communities on fb or other apps
Northwest Overland Rally coming up soon in June. Great place to meet the Overland community 😀
Definitely check out local and regional Overland Expos, great place to meet and learn more about various groups in the areas. If you're local in Washington, check out Rigs and Adventures on FB. They do a lot of trail rides and camping trips for all levels. 👍
What brand is that trash bag you're running? Happy with it?
Last US Bag Co. I'm definitely enjoying it so far! It's held up very well against the rough weather it's been exposed to. Check it out in more detail here: lastusbag.com/collections/outdoor-recreation/products/lusb220-bbcl?variant=42242284912858
@@ConquestOverland Thanks!
How many hours do you get out of the propane using that fire pit?
35min
@@abjeepify damn really? I figured atleast a couple hours
Haha, not sure how others are only getting 35 minutes but I’m able to use a 5 gallon tank for about 10 hours with cooking over the course of a weekend.
@@ConquestOverland okay yeah that sounds much more reasonable! Maybe even cheaper then buying firewood. You can use these during a burn band right? Thats really why im considering one.
@@UpNorthOutWest for sure, we use our propane firepit in the summer because of the burn bans, otherwise fire wood the rest of the year. It's a great way to go!
