The Dark Cloud Over Caitlin Clark and the WNBA

  • Caitlin Clark has been in the WNBA for a few months and is already taking the league by storm. Angel Reese is also off to a historic record by breaking the WNBA record for consecutive double doubles. WNBA All Star voting is up 600%, tv viewers are up, game attendance is also at an all time high. With all of that being said, the conversation around the WNBA has been dark and it has a feeling of a dark cloud hanging over its head. I've enjoyed this WNBA season but its been exhilarating to deal with.

So because Jonquel Jones decided to sleep walk through the game and Stewie had a bad game Clark deserves rookie of the year? I watched the game and she didn’t compete for any of those rebounds. She literally just stands there and there was no one around. I give her credit for the points and assists but she’s not battling people in the paint for rebounds like Angel is. She’s just getting lucky bounces because Jones wasn’t even trying.

Nevertheless, recent reports suggest that both athletes have been given significant coverage, with their performances and influence on the WNBA Rookie of the Year race being a focal point. There is negative energy around the WNBA because it has been run by a Bully Club - they have been big fish in a small pond and will do anything to hold onto power. Clark comes from a much greater tradition of sportsmanship and fans inspired by underdogs achieving through fair play. The Bully Club picked a fight with Clark, thinking they could subjugate her like past rookies. They made a mistake. Iowans don't back down from bullies, never have. Clark will never back down. Her fans, who believe in loyalty and the traditional ethics of American Christianity will never back down. - This is the end of the Bully Club. This is a good thing for all of the women, the many who have wanted to be free of abuse, free of being in the most injurious league anyway. Now they have backing too. The Bully Club can cry and yell and lash out all that they want, doing so they only sink further into the quicksand of their own stink. The future of the WNBA belongs to Clark and Boston and the new generation of players who uphold sports(wo)manship on the court and good character off the court.

Clark is by far the best rookie this year as she is the best overall player. Look where her stats are ranked against all WNBA players. Points, assists, rebounds, steals, blocks, they are near the top of the league. She is also responsible for more points than any other player. That’s points and assists and only Sabrina is even close. She accounts for over 50% of the Fever’s offense. That is not only ROY stats, but league MVP numbers. It boils down to pure hatred and jealousy that Clark isn’t on the Olympic squad and isn’t getting the respect she deserves from players, coaches, and certain fans. Clark will be the one responsible for these women getting paid big dollars sooner rather than later. Otherwise they would be subsidized by the NBA for at least another decade. I love players like Plum, Wilson (at least until she spoke about race and shoe contracts), Young,Gray, Boston,etc..
I sincerely hope these women, coaches, players, and upper managers, collectively pull their heads out of their asses and start making better decisions. I love the women’s game, but I can’t stand the stupidity, selfishness, and down right hatred on display this season.

The clothes for these women are more important than you would think. Just look at the tunnel shots. These rookie women are rocking designer clothes on $76,000 a year. CC couldn’t afford those clothes on her salary alone. All while these older players are showing up in sweats. Looks like they are not getting free clothes. My brother. It’s not only the attendance numbers we should be talking about concerning CC. Her numbers are very good across the board. This is with a bad coach and her team only now holding onto her passes and she is finally getting more assist which she should have had from the start of the season. That is why her TOs were so high. I can see Angel getting better. Her shooting percentage has improved. I don’t like some of the stuff that comes out of her mouth. I hope she matures more. That’s a lazy criticism for people who can’t allow her to be successful because she’s not like them. Her game is so much more fun to watch, period. It’s really simple. The rest is just wild speculation. They can’t admit she more fun to watch and not just for the 3’s, her passing, her assists, her decisions and thinking is step ahead of other players, and the speed of her game, her pace and ball handling. But, that can’t be the reasons people want to watch. She can’t be a role model for young white girls who are interested in the game!! It’s so screwed up and wrong. She there to play basketball, because she loves basketball. How is that a crime?? How is that suspicious??? Blind, prejudiced, territorial, petty. And she just keeps her head down and plays. Great video man, great balanced perspective. Thanks for that. I'm tired of the agendas, racebaiting, cattiness, etc this whole thing has brought. I just want to enjoy the product, and celebrate CC, Reese, Boston, Plum, etc.
the Minnesota Lynx vs NY Liberty game last week ? Was better than any NBA game I have seen in the last 20ish years. Ever since the anti Shaq rules were instituted, it's been a bunch of millionaires playing horse, with as much fake foul drama as Soccer. And Men's college is even worse. The ladies just play the damn game, and are fundamentally better players playing a more physical brand of the game.
Been loving watching the W. Been loving watching the stars like A'ja. Plum. Stewart, Reese, Clark, Boston... and then been loving seeing bench players like Lexie Hull. The game is great. Period. Can't wait til my home region of NorCal get's it's own team, with the Valkyries.

I didn't see the game between the Lynx and Liberty, but I watched the Liberty-Fevers game, which I thought was the best game I've watched this season. I love watching women's basketball, they are more entertaining. Of course, Caitlin Clark has much to do with the increase in fan attendance. To me, both Caitlin and Angel are great players in their specialties.

So, then I kept watching her into the wnba. I saw her best Reese and LSU. Then get to the finals. Then all this crazy hate. I learned that assists still count as assists even if the player dribbles a few times (when did that change happen, ODD).

Man I have to be honest I really liked your video and your take on it all. Instead of talking about hoops and he's playing the best ball and by the numbers and sometimes you have to take other things into effect with the numbers. Like distance for each shot or other factors too. Which there are a lot. But it was good to finally watch a good video about this subject. Iv been frustrated too with it all. We can talk about the NBA or NFL amd that can get childish or so we think sometimes. But when it comes to the Wnba we have to remember who we are talking about to realize how and why it got so catty. There all a bunch of woman. Lol and that right there explains why things have gotten of the rails lol some people won't like to read what I just said. But it's true. You don't see men acting this way. They have been begging for better pay and for more people to watch there games. I was seeinf videos of them on UA-cam starting last summer with them crying about pay. Apparently they don't know how supply and demand works. Before this season there was no demand for there games. This season people wanna watch some of there games so in turn they have moved some of the games from small venues to there nba counterparts to supply the fans with the demand and it has worked out. But even this season when things seem to be going down the road they have wanted for over 20 years. They still find reasons to complain telling a lot of fans that they don't want them and to not come back because they don't want those fans. Huh... some aren't acting that wat but a lot are. And it's professional jealousy. Which they need to get rid of. And that right there is where men and woman are different.. they should not be mad about why more fans are showing up in record.. instead they should be embarrassing those fans and trying to make those new fans. "Like me I'm a new fans to the wnba" but they should be trying to gain more fans for themselves and THERE TEAM also. That's where men and woman are different.. facts are they have shown up because of Caitlin Clark. She's exciting to watch .. she's different. Amd she's Feminine. And easy to look at. I know everyone has heard this by now but she is the female version of steph curry. And she is. She can rain down 3's from the logo and yes that's exciting. And her oro game has grown fast. Now she is dishing out the assists all over raising up her whole team. And those passes are so accurate it's great to see the whole team get in on the action making her WHOLE TEAM a lot better so 2 years in a row they have had the 1st overall draft pick. Which means the team has sucmed bad for a few years itbalso means they for sure have 2 great former college players on the team. So they have Quietly added to the team overall and it's no starting to show. And with Caitlin beinf a true point guard and playing like a true nba style point guard. It raises her whole team up. Facts are there are levels to this game as well as with any game.. and she is levels up on most woman in the wnba and instead of being against her and trying to Sabotage her the other players should be happy she chose to play in the wnba instead of going overseas a d aging for any of the other Lease that would pay her 5 times more money.. ans that is true. She would literally make at least 5 times more cash if not more in any of the other leagues... amd don't get mad at me. I am just telling you the way it is .. the facts of the matter.. we have to start caring about that to save the league.. ok another thing people for whatever reason I hav e no clue but get over yourself and again sir I agree with your whole video. It was a great video. I am going to be 💯% honest here. People are sick of thos and always have been.. get over the fake racse issue it doesn't exist and also the made up pretty privilege.. that also doesn't exist either. Ok.. that doesn't exist at all neither od those do.. and neither never has existed. It is made up by the mediato sow Division against 2 people and 2 teams do not fall for that Garbage

5:42 Just video too much BS in one video. People should be talking about Reese. Reese leads in major "Advanced ANALYTICS."
Net. PIE. Per. PM etc OVER ALL ROOKIES
Net: indicates how much better or worse the "team" performs.
PIE: Player Impact Estimate, or PIE, that calculates a players impact on each individual game they play.
PER: The player efficiency rating (PER) is a rating of a player's per-minute productivity.
PLUS/MINUS: Plus/Minus (PM): The PM stat is "Plus/Minus", and reflects how the team did while that player is on the court. If a player has a +5 PM, it means his team outscored the opponent by 5 points while he was on the court. If he has a -3, then the opposing team outscored his team by 3 points while he was on the court.
