Thank you for the education. I have a weak allergic nose. I must be careful, and am impressed you could spray so many fragrances and still smell them all. So, armed with your knowledge, I might find something I like before my nose shuts down and I start to sneeze. Have you tested any by Versace? I wondered if you had tried any.

Yes on mens fragrance I loved soul for men and I used the ck one lotion in the silver can for many years.
My recent fave is Twilly by Hermes. At first I didn‘t like it but aftr 5 mins Ihad to back and buy it. now I got so many compliments about this fragrance
I had the original Elizabeth Arden Green Tea, I used it mostly in spring and summer. I loved it. Have to try Cucumber.
If you like cucumber scent you will love it!
The Elizabeth Arden Green Tea perfume was so popular on the 90ies, I went through so many bottles. I got them the Green Tea perfume from the Occitane as well, this one is so nice too. I need to get it again. :) Looking back to it, I think it would be still such a perfect perfume for a teenager.

I just discovered the Elizabeth Arden pomegranate green tea perfume I tried it thinking I'd not like it with those notes and ended up loving it I'm gonna get it. The green tea fragrance was the fresh years back I sure loved it. But that pomegranate ones got me. lol

Un Bois Vanille and Samsara are both on my list to try. I love Guerlain's fragrances. I would definitely recommend both Jicky and Vetiver from that house. I agree with discarding genders with fragrances! I love to wear colognes. If a scent smells good on me I dont care who its marketed to.

Hi Julia, nice collection! I love Bois Vanille de Lutens too, rather in winter for me. I was also looking for a high-end vanilla scent which doesn't smell cheap. In the same vein, Orchidée Vanille de Van Cleef & Arpels is wonderful. I hope you get your voice back, I remember I was crying from stress when I got off the Silver Star, I'mdefinitely not a rollercoaster junky ;)

Hi, Julia! I didn't smell Sud Pacifique, but a perfume with a predominant banana note that it lasts very well is Halloween by Jesus Del Pozo and Halloween Sun (this one is milder and less flowery. The original version has a predominant violet note too). They both have a great longevity and and a very good sillage (maybe in this point, the original wins to the summer version)

you should check on abel odor... natural scents and just stunning.. petite puce in bern has some in stock. i love greed ceder, but honestly: i would wear everyone.
The Elizabeth Arden White Tea is also really nice and one I might get for the Summer. I recently got Lancome Jasmins marzipane which I think is one that is wearable in most seasons but especially Spring. It's a comforting, vintage smelling well-rounded jasmine with hints of almond so it's not gourmands at all. You would definitely need to like jasmine to enjoy it. Commodity Velvet (definitely more Fall and winter), it's a syrupy smokey, burnt almond, rose and vanilla. I've also gotten a sample of Serge Lutens Vetiver Oriental which is very interesting.
Do you go out to any shops to smell and sample before making buying decisions or are some of them blind buys?
Most I do smell at the shop before buying, but I have made a couple blind-buys after doing a lot of research on the notes. I can imagine the way a perfume will smell based on the notes pretty well. The only blind-buy dud so far was the Comptoir Sud one because the Banana note was so fleeting, the other ones I like a lot.

I remember Samsara as classic scent. Another classic scent for me is the orginal Issey Miayke. I also love Marc Jacob's Daisy original.

If you love banane notes in perfumes, you need to smell and buy Dona Sentenza hy Hilde Soliane. It didn't disappoin me. It is a real vanilla-banane scent that lasts long time on my skin.

Do you know the "Hermés - le jardin de monsieur li"? I saw it in the German Vogue, 4 years ago, and had to buy it instantly, because it's really special, so ladylike, glamorous and fresh at the same time. Maybe you should put it on your list 😊
I have watched some reviews of it :) It sounds really nice!
I have used samsara for years. I love it. However they reformulated it and it doesn’t smell as strong as it used to be, the sillage is less strong. If you like it, you may like Mojave Ghost by Byredo which is similar but extremely different at the same time! Do tell me your opinion. Despite the reformulation I still love Samsara and will not stop using it.

Yes it is still great . I often use samsara in the winter and mitsouko in the summer ! I love these fragrance videos by the way ! If you ever try anything from Byredo do let us know ! I am curious to have your opinion ! I loved seeing Samsara talked about ! It’s so nice to hear about non “trendy” products!

One "male" scent that I love and have considered buying for myself is Terre d'Hermès. It's a spicy woody citrus. I think that L'occitane made a mandarin-shaped soap with the same notes a long time ago, but they discontinued it.

Would you say that samsara is an old lady scent? As in old lady like "Red Door perfume", cause that fragrance I can't stand, but I do like classic older scents like Coco chanel and coco noir. Or is this scent nothing like any of those lol
It's definitely not like Red Door. It's very refined, more along those other 2 from Chanel you mentioned, although I like Samsara so much better than the classic Chanel scents. I feel it's more mysterious.

Also if you like niche+oriental+banana, you should go and try the new L'artisan Parfumeur creation, it's called Bana Banana, it's an ambery banana, it just launched and it's astounding, I think you'd really like it, it ticks all your boxes !

I wear spice bomb for men and Versace fragrances for men because they wear well with my chemistry and I get asked by women all the time what I'm wearing, and I just say men's cologne and I get this face! 😆but they are obviously digging it or they wouldn't inquire!
Spice Bomb is a good one, very unisex.
If you want a solely banana smelling perfume, you should try Demeter fragrance in “banana flambee”, it smells like a banana bread or dessert, is yummy and very inexpensive.
I am hesitant to blind buy another Banana perfume 🤔 I heard Demeter is not long lasting either?
Julia Graf truth be told is not very long lasting, but there worst long lasting perfumes than those, and is so inexpensive I don’t mind having to reapply. Is the closest I have found to a true banana perfume :)
