A word of advice - don’t look at your weight or the BMI scale! It’s complete BS and old news, especially considering that you’re weight training. Take measurements of your body and use that as a guide. It’s not as easy and quick as jumping on the scales but the scale doesn’t take into account that you’re putting on muscle! I’ve been weight lifting for 2 years and I am now exactly the same weight as I was when I started but my body looks completely different. Muscle weighs more than fat so that’s why the scale isn’t helpful. Same for the BMI - some weightlifters would be classified as overweight if they used that as a guide.
You LOOK so much slimmer. Your face has slimmed down and your new insta photo shows it too. Measure yourself once a month and track calories if you want to get out of the plateau without getting down about the scales not moving :) all the best!

THIS, except muscle does not weigh more than fat. It has a higher density while taking up less space than fat. Imagine filling one bag with ten pounds of feathers and another with ten pounds of bricks. You need fewer bricks to get to that weight than you do feathers.

Julia, I'm not big on writing down everything I eat. However, I did use one of those trackers for a month and learned a lot. It really helped me pinpoint the error of my ways, so that is a great suggestion.

Loved this video, Julia! The best advice I ever got was: slow and steady wins the race! Imagine losing 0,5 to 1 Kg of fat per month, at the end of the year you'll have lost 6 to 12 Kg of fat, your body will be adapted to your new weight and it will be harder for your to regain the lost Kgs even if you occasionally "slip" on your diet/exercise routine. I also stand by the "no scale" rule once someone is in a "heathy" weight rage. How clothes fit and most importantly, how you feel are the best points of reference in my opinion.

And I have also reached that point that I'm not losing any weight, I find it very frustrating

I'm not a health expert by any means! But I think you're absolutely right that being in a calorie deficit and tracking your cals from the point you're at now will make a difference for you and help you get to your goal. Plus high protein keeps you full and uses more energy to burn so using more cals. Anyway you look amazing and well done for all your hard work so far!

Do Keto and intermittent fasting for a month or two for additional weight loss and not calorie restriction! It will also reduce inflammation in your body and additional help with back pain etc. Good luck!

Perhaps you could research about intermitted fasting, alternate day fasting or OMAD, to try it out, see if it fits your lifestyle and if you experience any results in your body mass composition.
I personally found it useful when I hit a plateau myself.
Also I agree with many other comments; BMI is an obsolete tool at this point, yet still thriving within the fitness community and health care system.🤷🏻‍♀️
PS I'm sooooo in love with Odin 🤗

I have exactly the same problem... I haven’t been able to go under a certain weight in the long run. But I feel like counting calories only makes things worse. What works with me is rather eating vegetables with every meal, cutting sugar and not eating late at night (except fruit).

  • @Elanoranime
    @Elanoranime 4 роки тому

Go with how you feel and track, aka keep a journal of how you feel and think about your looks.
BMI is ok most of the time...as a guide. BUT I am overweight according to the BMI, no matter how hard I dieted I could never get under 26 and 36% of body fat. Turns out I have lipoedema...so none if those number say anything about my health and fitness level. I changed my diet and started intermittent fasting. It does not help with the numbers, but I feel way better. And I eat actually more calories than before. Eating too little is also not always a good idea.

girl just walk your ass off ... i mean way over the norm you do ... i mean like instead of driving ... at least for a while .... you will be amazed what it does for your body
i was in la where i grew up and i didn’t know if i was gonna stay and buy a new car and i got sick of waiting for rides plus other stuff ... i’m used to living in cities where you walk ... so one day instead of taking the bus i just said f it and walked like 2 towns over yep ... i started walking until i was just exhausted and then i’d take a bus
i only did this like 2-3 days a week and the next time i got weighed i was like 96 pounds !!! i was floored .... i hadn’t been that since 10th grade ...
i can gain a lot quickly
i gained a couple yrs later bc i was eating so much crap and not exercising again bc of location
i again started walking like 5-7 miles a day but this time i carried my little dog in a carrier and i got back to 100 pounds .... i lost almost 20 pounds
and baths w epson ? salt is great for pain
i dated a crazy pro skater and this was his advice
    you look gorgeous btw ☺️

I’m a personal trainer, fitness instructor and a healthy eating and weight loss coach. I’m now experimenting with intermittent fasting and a higher fat diet. Not for life but seeing amazing results. For me it’s more for brain health my mom passed on of Alzheimer’s at 62. Her doc suggested this for her. I feel amazing and my muscle definition seems to be showing a bit better. I’m researching quite a bit and came across a method called 131. It’s great for reducing inflammation in your body. It takes you through different phases very interesting. Check it out
