- I use Minelab's SDC 2300 gold nugget detector quite a bit in the field when I am gold nugget shooting and as a result, I am getting some questions. In this video, I will address a few.

Thanks again Bill just got an SDC and wanted to watch all your tricks again !!!! LOL
Did not know that about the tone change thanks Bill 👍. We have found that here in NorCal the sdc runs best at 5 on sensitivity button and 3 on volume. Picks up the smallest signal.
We can get away with 4 and sometimes 5, but ground is bad most places.
This is definitely my next machine
Nice explanation and super helpful tips Bill!
Great job, watching your videos on the sdc-2300 is helping me to decide to get one or not. Right now I'm using a gold bug2 and a gold bug pro and like both but I'm impressed with the your videos on the 2300 I've watched two toes videos also on the 2300 and just about ready to get one thanks and have enjoyed all of the videos. I live in Bayfield Co and winter in Brenda Arizona not tofar from you thanks again
The SDC is an awesome detector. We had totally forgot about the tone change function thanks Bill must remember to try it out next time. Cheers mate and all the best for 2021👍🍀⛏
Good to hear from you and wishing you the same
Thanks Bill, I'll have to try that tone thing out on my Minelab F- 3 which is the military version used for minesweeping. The circuitry and overall performance is supposed to be better than the 2300. In one blog I read, a soldier found a non-metallic mine 8 inches deep because the thing actually had a little teeny tiny spring in it. The negative is it weighs 5 lb. Excellent video Bill, concise and to the point, well done.
Just got a new sdc2300 and getting ready to use it, I bought a prosonic wireless but I have to send it back, the transmitter will not turn on so once I get started and than it some time on it I'll get back with you. I Thoroughly enjoy watching and learning from your videos
I just bought a almost never used Minelab 2200D it's my first PI detector to team up with my GoldMonster1000 very excited to get back out in the field!
13k00L11 good hunting
The chig mentioned today that you taught him how to ground balance, and it works,3 or 4 different groundings of the coil
Thats cool a couple lil functions i didnt know! I like the tone change !
Well howdy Dan and glad to help
Sweet unit fantastic knowledge on the unit awesome time thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
I have a leather cover for the SDC and I used a cable tie to secure the adaptor plug to the cover so there is no stress on the connector when you pull on the headphone cable (when you get snagged on something).
Scott I have a canvas cove and a fried made me a nice leather one I will have soon
Very cool info on the tone change now let’s see the Hunt no teasing us lol see you on the next one👍🏻👊🏻
I see the Australians using this model quite a bit. I am pretty much sold on getting a 2300 to clean my world of pull tabs and bottle tops when winter is over. Lots of volcanic hot rocks as well so I am told. Can it be charged up with a cig lighter in 12V vehicles ? Looks like a cable support is needed to take the movement away at cable ends. Have a look at my last video where I use a product called "Jett Basic" It can be made into just about anything and it can be drilled, tapped and filed as well. Getting any movement off the plugs just makes sense eh. In 2 way radio shops I have done a lot (hundreds) of the radio end repairs of mic cords.
Loads of great info FAM. Keep up the hunt. Gold squad out.
Thanks! Will do!
Thanks for sharing. Nice machine. Good luck, happy hunting and take care.
Nice quick lesson.
Glad you liked it!
Getting one tomorrow mate can't wait I wanted one as my first machine but went with the 5000 glad I did its paid for its self more than twice and I recently found a piece big enough to get an sdc good luck and happy hunting thanks for the video
Hello I have an SDC 2300 and was thinking of trading it for a very lightly used GPX 5000 with 3 coils, would you trade. Most people I've talked to say if they could only have 1 detector it would be the 5000 due to it's versitiliity. Thanks for any help you can offer
@@rollandsaxton I would love to say get the 5000 but I love both machines equally if I didn't have the sdc I'd be trying to get one 😂 if there's a way you can have both that's what I'd do
Maybe hire a 5000 and see if you like it before you do the trade good luck with what ever decision you make either machine is worth it
@@allanbroad3381 thanks for the help. It's been a tough decision, no I can't do both right now as I just bought the SDC 3 months ago so I still have about $1000 left to pay on the credit card. Thanks again
@@rollandsaxton good luck no matter which one you go with both good machines
@@allanbroad3381 thanks. I did the trade it came with the 2 stock coils and a nugget finder 12x8 mono. Can't wait to go try it
Great vid mate. Thanks for all the info, I am saving up to buy one. Hope you find the big nugget!!!!!!!!!!! By the way i checked, and is water proof to, 10 ft or 3 metres!
Yep and that is a big plus!
Esey guys 2021 hope you had a top Christmas bro big big thunps up allways injoy catching up eith you keep up the hard work we are on lovmck down in the uk .....keep safe brother tyson fury thanks bill brother
Thanks! You too!
Awesome machine, best of luck huntin' 2021.
Same to you
I have used SDC 2300 full time for almost 4 years .I am in Victoria Australia in the golden triangle .I find gold .02 of a gram 6 inches in the ground .I'm good friends with all Minelab dealers in australia.i suggest the 10x5 coiltec coil .it actually is more sensitive .I'd say it's like the monster but a pulse induction. I have some great tips love to say Hello some time from down Under .
Good to meet ya Tim
Bill the SDC 2300 submersable to 3 metres or 10 feet, same as the Equinox. The SDC 2300 is on my wish list. That's heaps anyway.
Waiting to see a mighty fine nugget, first one a big one, fingers crossed. Good luck
It isn't like the old days when we could get several linkers a season, but they are still out there eh?
Thanks from nsw Australia ...wish minelab would give great instructional material either in the box or just pay you. For a significant financial investment where are the direction?. Doesn't seem right to leave it up to the dealer. Thank you.....but might be more questions. You are a man of your word.
Thank you David and I'll keep the info coming.
Super Instruction Bill!
Thanks!
Thanks Bill !!!!!! now i want one even more than before !!!!
Find the treasure Jeff and your half way there. 👍🇺🇸🍀⚒😀
@@MericaAdventures is that another clue ???? LOL
Lucky man Irish gold treasure is a lot like finding a 1 ounce nugget. Good luck gold seekers.
@@markb9347 I'd like to find that too !!!!!!!
@@MericaAdventures i've got a good idea where it might be just waiting on the next clue !!!!
ur channel looks awesome
Thanks for the visit
Great to know the battery check procedure. After only a few outings, the bottom cam on my SDC is not securely locking the shaft in place. Not sure how to correct this without sending the unit back?
Yes I would contact Minelab and have it fixed.
Hi Bill. What you call volume I have understood as threshold level.
If you hit a target the volume is the same.
That was my take anyway.
Threshold and volume are two different settings on most detectors, the threshold is the sound in the background, and target volume is a separate setting in most cases.
@@NUGGETSHOOTER on the SDC it's the threshold not the volume from what I've been told. Is that not true
Still looks pretty warm there!!!! Mail me 30 degrees please🍻🤣
Bwahahahaha, on the way, but delivery will be sometime in March
Bill, Does that stem snap into place or is there a release? Tried to fold down and snap but seems awful hard, did not want to force it...... LOVE LOVE LOVE you videos!
which stem do you mean?
@@NUGGETSHOOTER the one that the coil is on, it swings into the body....
Cool ! you are looking for gold nuggets !! and you have a very cool device, on the stream at Dietr Diggers UK I thought you were looking for coins - now I was pleasantly surprised !! Good luck, +1 Fan
Thank you and it is mostly gold nuggets I hunt yes.
@@NUGGETSHOOTER this is cool - this is a dream - but in Russia they are not everywhere and the law forbids us (((
Nice video! Think that is threshold not volume tho.
on the 2300 it threshold and volume is the same setting so yes you are correct.
nice cooking video. god bless you ❤️🔔
Is there a detector that when your in hot rock area you can tackle the hot rock and discriminate it out I know in Oregon we have a lot and they were regularly around 9 to 12 on the equinox 800 which is a pretty good gold number to ?
The 2300 on its own is very good at ignoring Hot Rocks, most of them anyway. My Minelab F3 which is the military version is even better at ignoring hot rock type material. Thing is they only come up for sale anywhere very rarely.
The Gold Monster 1000 in Discriminate ignores hot rocks, but anytime one uses discrimination you give up a bit of depth as well.
Good joob
What settings do you use on the steelphase?
mode 1/volume 3/4/filter1
@@NUGGETSHOOTER Thanks, at least I have a starting point otherwise out of the box this unit is a complete mystery. Steelphase tell you nothing
@@NUGGETSHOOTER where do you order the steelphase devise I couldn't find it
What happened to the monster ?
It's tucked away for the right ground....horses for course's
What detector I use depends on the ground I plan to hunt, this area suited the 2300 best....
Is it submersible machine or just the coil
Submersible up to ten feet whole unit. But I never do that.
Nice package you sent fgw 👍🏻👊🏻
Yep like said to 10 feet
Where is Bruno’s boots 👢
He shakes them off, we are working on it lol
I have wanted one for the past year, but being on SSI I don't think I will ever get one unless Minelab was send me one,,, hahahahaaa top it off one of my friends just bought one.
Nice machine but to rich for my blood for now🤣🤣
