Hey Bill, this was a really great video👍🏼I enjoyed your story about Lou and digging trash also liked the camera angle showing your view of the coil and how you navigate the hot rocks. It also was showing the speed you use while moving the detector.👍🏼

Great video and information. Makes me want to fly down to Arizona from Alaska and give it a try and thaw-out at the same time....Keep up the good work.
I enjoyed this video and found it to be very educational as well as motivating as I’m down here camping off Vulture Mine road and there are nothing but hot rocks everywhere! I’ve got a VLF and a PI and I’m just learning my machines close to camp before I venture further out.
Nice nugget Billy… Congrats!!! I wish I could scrape alot of the hot rocks out of the way in my area. Most are just to big. But I will try the other machine and this should help. A couple things.. 1) I received my cover and scoop in the mail the other day. I guess the post office finally found it, or someone returned it… So now I am out only one other package they lost… 2) It is never a problem when you scrap your scoop across the coil. Anyone who ever complained of this is a moron! If you never mentioned it, we would have never known. 3) The wind too is never a problem… Again you cannot tell. One time when you were doing some coin/relic hunting maybe a year ago there was some wind noise but that was an extremely strong wind day. 4) It is always great to see the better shot angles when you move your camera around. Never is dizziness a problem. Again, if you didn't mention it, would have never had the thought…. … Maybe more morons out there… Hahahah… Keep the videos coming when you can. They sure are great and enjoyable… One of these days I'll get out there on a hunt with you. I will let you know how Colombia turns out. If I don"t get robbed and loose my all equipment first… It should be ok…. And Merry Christmas to you and Tammy too...
Merry Christmas to you!! Looked close to a grammer, amazing how many I see out swinging that don't get under the bushes, you earned that one . Good job.
One reason I never stop looking is that every one is unique in shape and size, true marvel of nature's creation.Drawback is ,they do not grow back and don't grow up.Keep at it, regards George
I love watching your videos. Being an Arizona native myself and now living in South Dakota I decided to try it out. I got the same metal detector last week, the cover you have and the amp. I haven’t found anything yet, other than old bullets and a couple pennies. Hopefully I can find things like this! Be safe!
When you find a flake (or preferably several in a small area) would that be a candidate area for some drywashing? ...and talk about the mods to your detector (specifically that piece of PVC to make it sit level).
Hi Bill. Thanks for your videos. After 40yrs chasing opal( underground mainly) in Australia I've just bought a 2300, to go chase Gold!. Went to Tucson gem show for many years, love your deserts! Take care

Both the spot and the machine are tried, tested and true eh. I do miss the "Woople Pop" the monster makes. Kind of fun eh, LOL. That first one is really something to get excited about for sure. Damn the lead/iron mine eh, LOL. You got your gas paid for and some extra to boot. Well done and the seasons best to you and yours my friend. Take care eh.

Woohoo is right👍🏻 Nice piece of GOLD Bill!! A Merry Christmas to you from the desert 👍🏻👍🏻 I love that machine too unfortunately all my targets last Sunday were trash but anyone of them could have been a nugget!! Wishing you, Tammy and all your four legged furry family a Very Merry Christmas 🎄🎄🎄 ATB in 2021 my friend! Blessings Monica
Between this one and the GM 1000, for someone new that wants simple and easy to use what are the major differences? I for sure like the way this packs up as I travel overseas quite a bit and would love to use in the Balkans..
One is a VLF (gold monster) and the other a Pulse induction detector. Price differs greatly as well. The two detectors work very differently and send an email for more info
A question if I could. My brothers property up in the Sierra foothills has an old gold mine on it. It’s the old Calaveras river that was volcanically diverted and now is uphill from the “new” river. It is dug into the side of the hill and was an operating gold mine way back in the day and includes an arrastra along with rusted out mining equiptment. Im going back and forth between the Equinox 800 and the Gold Monster for seeing if i can find anything. Don’t really plan on hunting coins in some park but perhaps checking the property for who knows what besides the mine. Any thoughts? Thank you.
Here in California I’ve had good luck detecting in the burn area’s after all the undergrowth is gone and again after the winter rains has moved the soil. Feel a little guilty that I’m taking advantage of a disaster, but after I find a nugget the guilt goes away. Have you detected burn area’s in Az and have you had any luck?
Congrats on nugget find & happy holidays. How do you determine if area in AZ might have gold? I recently bought some vacant land near Holbrook, AZ to use for camping / night photography / etc. I visited it briefly in November and found petrified wood on one of the parcels. I know that there are petrified wood, dinosaur bones, Native American artifacts in the area for me to look for and it would be nice to add gold to that list.
There are many books and articles online you can look up to see where gold have been found in Arizona, sadly Holbrook is not in the gold belt here due to its geology.

Why does my GM1000 trigger deep (8"-12"+) iron targets as non-ferrous?
There can be a wide range of reasons including soil conditions and a hot rock near the target, I NEVER trust the VDI and I dig ALL target and have found many nuggets that shower to be iron as well. Discrimination simply does not work on natural targets like it does on coin/relic detectors.
Hey, Bill! I'm just starting to watch this video but had a question... is it true that the SDC can see right though the iron stone?
It will still hear Magnetite, but indeed it does ignore many hot rocks that a VLF hears.... Basalt and some other "Hot Rocks" are still hot as well.
@@NUGGETSHOOTER How would it compare to say a GPX4000, as far as hot rocks and iron stones go? Would there be any real benefit if I were to replace my GPX4000 with a SDC? Probably should of saved all these questions for one of your live stream, sorry about that.

now wait a minute Bill, more sensitivity = more depth? I was under the impression that that wasn’t the case with metal detectors. If that is true I guess i better get back out to my old patches
The higher you can run the sensitivity (gain) and still have a stable detector is where you will get the best depth. Each place is different and I adjust my sensitivity right to the edge of the detector becoming unstable. Unstable can mean missed targets...
