  • Mike Tyson Vs Tommy Morrison is only a fantasy fight. Many would like to know how this boxing fight would go down. Today we will be taking a look at the exciting career of Tommy Morrison and why the circumstances didn't allow the fight with Tyson to happen.
From his early to his last days we will review the life and Career of Tommy Morrison.
It is really sad to think that Mike didn't actually fight him also because of business perspective, as Don King found better match ups to make a lot of money.

Morrison took 6-7 months off from professional boxing in 1990 to make Rocky V and Mike Tyson was in prison from 1992-1995. By 1996 Morrison had retired from boxing for health reasons. Suffice it to say, there's a very limited period of time that these two could have squared off when they were in their primes. Doesn't appear that either was trying to dodge the other.

I lived through this era as well and an era before this. I used to watch Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Holmes, etc. all on free tv.
I didn't appreciate Morrison much at the time but looking back at many of his fights, he seems much better than he was given credit for. There is always over hype or under hype for white heavyweights. They are usually considered to be "Great White Hopes" of "Great White Mopes" that only got their on fair ability and because being white brings out fans. Tommy Morrison was actually a good fighter but didn't seem to get the credit he really deserves.
Boxing is one of those sports in which opinions can vary greatly, even among "experts". We can only look back at the video and remember how things were done at that time. I remember George Foreman being not liked by a large portion of boxing fans. He got old, fat, funny and started flipping burgers and the world loved him. I like George Foreman very much, this is just an example of how times can change peoples' opinions and legacies can change from generation to generation.

Get real. Tyson, even the so so, post Kevin Rooney, Mike Tyson, would have knocked Tommy Morrison out in one round, two at the most. Morrison had the biggest glass jaw in the history of professional boxing.
Tyson vs. Morrison, both in their primes, Tyson wins at 51 seconds of the first round, by a brutal knockout, and Morrison goes to the hospital, in critical condition. And I loved Tommy Morrison, but this fight would have been as lopsided as Tyson vs. Spinks.

He lost his life to excess drugs in tandem with HIV and depression along with denial, and not taking care of himself after he was diagnosed. His mindset wasn't right because he felt like he had to prove something to people, that's why he was in denial. He made silly comments as a boxer about his race, and having to prove himself as a white fighter which is bullshit. If you're a great fighter you're a great fighter. Hell, black people love Rocky Balboa and he wasn't real 😂. Black people simply love rooting for the underdog. Tommy always was going to have a puncher's chance, but I don't see him beating a prime Tyson, or even a sub-prime Tyson. Everything Tommy could do, and he could do a lot of things well, Tyson could do better. But like I said, puncher's chance, so anything could have happened. It would have been fun to watch.
