- Mike Tyson Vs Tommy Morrison is only a fantasy fight. Many would like to know how this boxing fight would go down. Today we will be taking a look at the exciting career of Tommy Morrison and why the circumstances didn't allow the fight with Tyson to happen.
From his early to his last days we will review the life and Career of Tommy Morrison.
It is really sad to think that Mike didn't actually fight him also because of business perspective, as Don King found better match ups to make a lot of money.

Morrison took 6-7 months off from professional boxing in 1990 to make Rocky V and Mike Tyson was in prison from 1992-1995. By 1996 Morrison had retired from boxing for health reasons. Suffice it to say, there's a very limited period of time that these two could have squared off when they were in their primes. Doesn't appear that either was trying to dodge the other.

When he lost the street fight to balboa it was all downhill for him
But Tommy did beat Union Cane!

Guy I sparred was a good fighter. Got in a street fight. Hit the guy once and killed him and then did 5 years for it. You arent wrong.
A boxer is no use in a street against a decent opposition, against a layman of course but boxers don't fare well against mma fighters.

I lived through this era as well and an era before this. I used to watch Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Holmes, etc. all on free tv.
I didn't appreciate Morrison much at the time but looking back at many of his fights, he seems much better than he was given credit for. There is always over hype or under hype for white heavyweights. They are usually considered to be "Great White Hopes" of "Great White Mopes" that only got their on fair ability and because being white brings out fans. Tommy Morrison was actually a good fighter but didn't seem to get the credit he really deserves.
Boxing is one of those sports in which opinions can vary greatly, even among "experts". We can only look back at the video and remember how things were done at that time. I remember George Foreman being not liked by a large portion of boxing fans. He got old, fat, funny and started flipping burgers and the world loved him. I like George Foreman very much, this is just an example of how times can change peoples' opinions and legacies can change from generation to generation.
He was the best ..
It’s sad that nobody talks about Tommy when mentioning the greats. Dude was one of the most fun boxers to watch.

I always liked how respectful Tommy was talking about a fighter he just defeated. I always say he was extremely good and literally on the edge of being great. Wasn't great...but so damn close he could have crossed the line if he had focused more and partied less. Loved watching him as he was a few months older than me and doing impressive work.
Tommy had the potential to be an all time great. Couldn't get out of his own way. Sad story. He seemed like a good dude.

@@Josh77600 I agree. Despite the accolades for Tyson, truth is, he just doesn't have the big wins to to be an all-timer. Tommy Morrison was a force to be reckoned with at the height of his career, and even earlier...he had it all - power - great timing...he appeared to have that raw talent as a fighter and a talent which come so easily to him...but didn’t come to other boxers in quite the same way, (if at all) or with the ease, it did for Tommy.
Tragic life that he ultimately lived for sure. but..............damn!.......he was just.......bloody......brilliant!!
It is a real shame Morrison's lifestyle ruined his career. He could have been a Champ, but lost focus right at the time her was about to make it in boxing. Self discipline matters.

I'm from Oklahoma and growing up we all idolized Morrison especially since he's an okie too. I was at the fight in Tulsa when he got knocked out in the first round. I was devastated! His wild partying around town in Tulsa is the stuff of legend. He just got out of control and ruined everything. I dont recommend looking up pics of what he looked like right before he passed. He's completely unrecognizable and looks twice his age. Still, he gave me a ton of great memories during my early to mid teen years. He was definitely the real deal
So he contracted hiv from being with other men or just being promiscuous with women?
Morrison always emphasized his corners inclusion in his efforts, i.e "We" are confident that our work is paying off", he never separated himself from his team for reasons of personal glory.
So, did his whole team have aids or just him?

Get real. Tyson, even the so so, post Kevin Rooney, Mike Tyson, would have knocked Tommy Morrison out in one round, two at the most. Morrison had the biggest glass jaw in the history of professional boxing.

The greats in any field are so wise... Prince apparently said : "I am not King because I know what's on top." Remember : there is *always* someone better than you right now, even if you're an icon. Most people would find this statement defeating, but I find it incredibly inspiring. You can pay respect to an unbeatable challenge without having anything to prove or anyone questioning you. That's not fair to say that he was excessive. Most of us are buck wild when we're that young. He got caught out there sleeping with some nasty bi--h. He lost his life to excess drugs in tandem with HIV and depression along with denial, and not taking care of himself after he was diagnosed. His mindset wasn't right because he felt like he had to prove something to people, that's why he was in denial. He made silly comments as a boxer about his race, and having to prove himself as a white fighter which is bullshit. If you're a great fighter you're a great fighter. I had to replay that final knockout several times. That was one of the meanest and smartest punches ever.
Tyson studied every single boxer since the day he met Cus at 13 yrs old , he studied everyone in the history of boxing & understands who is at they're peak of they're talent & who is not & when they are or not because he's been there several times just as a underdog before he was a professional heavy weight!!! Tyson is definitely the baddest man on the planet but he's also not stupid either & he understands that nobody wins every single day of they're lives regardless of how good they are , nobody is perfect & Mike understands that about ppl & that's why he turned down the fight because he knew it wasn't his time to shine that day!!!!
I have a lot of respect for Morrison and it's obvious he took his career and development seriously. I don't know if comparing him to Mike Tyson is fair. Being the youngest Heavyweight champ is a tremendous feat. If you consider Morrison's with Carl Williams and Razor Rudduck; they can't be compared to when Tyson fought them. If they were able to hurt Morrison, can you imagine what Tyson would do to him?

Great fighter with a indomitable spirit 👊 R. I. P . Tommy
They made us say Indomitable spirit everyday in Tae Kwon do ... Haven't heard that combo of words in 20 yrs.
@@Paragon_Reason I am an ex 2nd Dan Blackbelt in Taekwondo 🥋 and then I trained in Muay Thai for five years
Tommy always was going to have a puncher's chance, but I don't see him beating a prime Tyson, or even a sub-prime Tyson. Everything Tommy could do, and he could do a lot of things well, Tyson could do better. But like I said, puncher's chance, so anything could have happened. It would have been fun to watch.
Total agree with your post. Tommy had a punchers chance but at the end of the day Tyson was better in every way.
He would've killed little tyson😂 be real
I like Tommy. But I think Tyson's speed would have been a big problem for Morrison. A prime Tyson destroys Tommy Morrison with his speed, power, and peek a boo style and Tyson had good defense also in his prime.
Eh maybe, but we all know what happened to Tyson 😋
I was surprised that Morrison came back after that brutal knockout by Ray Mercer. Fun fighter to watch. RIP.
Dude was a beast, really too bad we didn't get to see him go the distance.
Tyson, Morrison and Foreman had to be the most feared fighters of all -time! Lennox Lewis had the game-plan for both Morrison and Tyson though. Maintain distance and punish them when they try to close. His height, footwork and reach were a deadly combo!
Buster Douglas and Lennox Lewis both gave Tyson the same amount of trouble when he fought them... Big, tall, strong outside-fighters who were NOT afraid to face Tyson were really his Kryptonite!
it sucks that Tommy's promiscuity took him out in the end because when he was right....HE WAS VERY VERY EXTRAORDINARY
I'm not a boxing expert but it looked like Tommy hit hard. I hope his family sees the love &respect here.
He had the hardest left in the game, at least that's what is said. There's a video of a 13 year old Morrison (already built like a god damn tank) knocking out grown ass men in the ring. You don't do that unless you're fucking special.
@@dopedrums or are taking steroids.....
@@robjohnson9270 So, roids at 13 in the early 80s. Is that your theory? 🤡
Holy shit I was not ready for that ending 😣 what the hell.. that was so fucking sad so quick. That last image made my stomach drop it was so abrupt.. I never knew what happened to him. At least when he passes on he won't have suffer like that anymore.. You were a badass Tommy, one of the strongest 💪🏻 May your soul finally be at peace one day.
He died in 2013.
Aids was invented by the Government.
Mine dropped as well😢I'm stunned
The end. Respect this ngl 🫡
Most amazing thing about Morrison: he did all this while partying like an animal AND actually being ill. And his hairstyle of course! 😂
Let's be real. Tyson would have eaten Morrison. Morrison's Chin was his weakness. Tyson has a granite chin.
I wouldn’t say he had a week chin I just think he fought in a tough era.The heavyweights in the early 90,s were better than the current crop.
@@iandixon9675 bruh Tyson fury would smoke both Mike and tommy
@@kcgates13bravo64 Not sure about Fury being Mike.....as I'm a fan of both. The only thing Fury has on Tyson is height/reach......other than that, I'm pretty sure Mike would run circles around him & Wilder & Ruiz & Usyk & Joshua
@@NotOnDrugs Mike would get frustrated with Tyson fury cause he wouldn't be able to put him away, Mike would lose confidence each round and fury would capitalize on it. Now I agree with you on the rest beside Wilder that would be a dog fight. That fight could easily go either way
@kcgates 13bravo lay off that glass pipe bro it's not good for you
The Ray Mercer fight was the brutal KO in history
I agree. Ref let that go on way too long. He was literally beating him to death.
It was one bad fight one bad round other than that he was pretty good !
I don’t think the ref had a chance to stop it. RM was throwing accurate powerful blows one after another. Savagely
