It was flour. Flour is combustible when ground fine and dry. With the wind blowing the flour around in the air it acted like a house fill of gun powder.
It's surprising how many things are explosively combustible when ground fine and dry. Many a sawmill/Woodworking shop has detonated for similar reasons.
34:02 - I agree 100%, it's flour. Some historians theorize it was airborne 'flour powder' igniting in Thomas Farriner's bakery at Pudding Lane, London in 1666 which led to 'The Great Fire'.
Wheat farm in ND... & Wheat dust in the air while filling silos combined with static electricity in the air due to weather is a dangerous & explosive combination. One that every farmer is aware of, today's farms have vacuums on the conveyor belts to keep the dust down. But not in the 60's, we were still learning.
The scene with Robert and Miles after he got him out of the gang apartment was all impromptu by Denzel. It turned out so good, they kept it in the movie.
In the original series, Robert never took any payment for helping people, he would just tell them that some point he would come to them for help and they couldn't say no.
Its was Flour .. First thing you learn in the Army is to not light a match in a sealed vehicle like a tank when full of say Dust while in the desert. BOOM ! experiment ... sprinkle some powdered creamer over a lighter and see what happens :-D
McCall goes into the bread factory, he rips open several sacks of flour, which is highly flammable. So if there are a large number of sparks it will strengthen the spread
You can see an explosion like that with most anything that combines a fine dust with oxygen plus an ignition source. One example is grain elevators/silos you see a lot of in the Midwest US. The grain dust has been known to explode causing massive explosions.
That scene with the sugar reminds me of Red Dead Redemption 2 when you're in Guarma. Sugar is combustible and presents an explosion hazard when it is finely divided and dispersed as a dust cloud in air
I thought it was flour. Technically both sugar and flour can explode but flour is more likely to hang in the air as very fine dust and it would make more sense to have bags of flour in a bakery imo
Same reason why grain silos are so dangerous when that dust gets kicked up in the air inside. An old farmer got blown up in our down growing up from that. Real bad burns and in a wheelchair rest of his life.
The main character does not need to change, this is a fallacy caused by the whole Hero's Journey nonsense (nonsense? yeah it is, but that's another story). Anyway Robert doesn't change. He is an absolute constant - Dr Kimble in "The Fugitive" is the same, there's no character arc. People around them change.
How did both of you miss class on the same day when they gave the lesson about flour being combustible ? Think about this next time you drive by or live by a grain silo

Grain elevators are notorious for such explosions@@TheGoIsWin21

I live in a farm town in Argentina and I hear about explosions in silos. Not common but happened

Denzel Washington is the reason why I love Movies. Every movie he stars in is really good

Flour, when airborne in a cloud is extremely explosive. You never did the experiment in high school?
'Big concern in flour mills. All kinds of precautions taken. Disasters have occurred.
Coffee Creamer, Kool-Aid you name it dry airborne particles should be taken very seriously. If people only knew.
Gotta react to Eq 3, happens to be my fave...!!!
Great story about the kid Myles.. He saw Denzel on a red carpet event told him I’ll be working on the movie with you. This is the movie.
McCall goes into the bread factory, he rips open several sacks of flour, which is highly flammable. So if there are a large number of sparks it will strengthen the spread
If you like this movie...you would like the movie Nobody 2021..its another good movie of this genre ..
Agreed
Pedro Pascal, love of my life
Like the old man in the Lyft I will give some advice..... one good turn gets most of the blanket.
Flour is a tertiary explosive. That’s why grain silos blow up
Number 3 is even better! Enjoyed you guys reaction!

I couldn't find a better place to ask, have you guys seen LA Confidential? If you haven't, I think you would love it.
Happy New Year Eric & Sarah, cool reaction as always, you both take care

@GasparGa I think you're right. Flour would've made more sense, but badass scene regardless 😎

@@samhainnc9416 I've seen a few videos of those Silos blowing up, absolutely insane.
The Equalizer 3 movie reaction please my friend 💗💞💓💖🤝
If she hasnt seen Game of Thrones, would be a cool reaction
Flower and sugar and fine form creates an aerosol, mixed with explosives amplifies the explosion times 10 or more
It’s NOT FLOWER ITS FLOUR Durrrrrr 😂😂😂😂😂
Wait till you watch 3
I LOVE THIS CHARACTER DENZEL IS PERFECT FOR IT. ITS FLOUR MAKES IT DUSTY
Enjoyed your reactions. You need to react to "DEXTER" - You'll love it!

Please react to season 3 of true detective
Maybe he didn't kill the little girls father. Maybe the father chose correctly.
How did both of you miss class on the same day when they gave the lesson about flour being combustible ? Think about this next time you drive by or live by a grain silo
It’s NOT SUGAR ITS FLOUR his wife Vivian owned a bakery, ground flour is highly combustible under certain circumstances
The ist film was way better but this sequel is ok
