@@eatsmylifeYT There is no prequel in this trilogy. And if you're referring to another one of Denzel's films that's similar, totally different character from Rober McCall.
there is a quote from Terry Pratchett's book "Men At Arms" that I feels perfectly describes Robert. It's because these movies didn't cost a lot to make(by modern Hollywood standards), it was a critical success, and Denzel actually loves the character.
Cute things you guys do: Air drumming at the end; "I don't want Ralphie to die!"; constantly using quotes from the movie to refer to other movies/comics/shows/whatever (I didn't get them all); sympathizing with Alina; thinking it's cool that Denzel kills a guy with a book.
When Alinka asks if there's a Mrs Robert at home Denzel is able to make his voice crack when he says "once". I've watched this movie at least six times and didn't notice that!
The red haired girl Denzel talked to at the hospital is the same actress that played the girl who hired the Magnificent Seven that also starred Denzel.
You guys would love the original 1980’s TV show. The whole premise was what if James Bond retired and then just used his skill set to help the average Joe in trouble. Epic.
Cool thing is you see him never being able to sleep, always out at the diner, missing something in his life. Then he helps Alina and they show him asleep in bed for the first time. Finally doing what he's supposed to be doing.
They didn't want remake the series, beat for beat. I get it. But to hear Copeland's theme was to hear something gritty,, tough, mysterious and energetic.
Rule #1: If you see Denzel Washington checking his watch, run. This movie and John Wick came out a month apart - this was first, but John Wick was already done filming. Susan told him that he killed the Russians after Slavi put Alina in the hospital because "that's what you are." She added that the part of him that died when his late wife Vivian did was not the part Vivian had loved most, and that it was that part that led him to kill the Russians. Then she said, "Go be you." That was the permission he came for. Trivia on the book list: in the last scene, where he's Craigslisting for rescue missions, it shows the book from that list that he was now reading: The Invisible Man. Favorites and recommendations: Glory, Equalizer 2 and 3, Man On Fire (there's even an Easter egg link between Man On Fire and The Equalizer 3), Fallen, Antwone Fisher, American Gangster. I haven't seen Training Day yet, but plan to watch it soon.
I only realized after watching the movie that the main Russian guy played Celeborn in Lord of the Rings. “Tell me, where is Gandolf, for I much desire to speak with him…”
Not that anyone ever takes my recommendations, but in the movie, "Deja Vu," Denzel Washington plays a federal agent who discovers that the US government has secretly discovered time travel. I like it and have seen it several times.
Malcolm X: A Denzel movie which is one his best performances and has been rarely reacted to... I believe you group of guys would show a fond appreciation for its cinematic work...
"Twenty-eight minus nine... nineteen." It's because he indulged a bit there at the end with the corkscrew guy. He was about three seconds off his estimate. Not bad for a retiree.

There are two major "The"s here in the US. The Bureau and The Agency. And almost everyone knows that they refer to The FBI and The CIA respectively. So that bit of short dialogue reveals that Robert McCall use to work for the CIA in some capacity.
Tait Fletcher(guy with epic beard) is one of that stuntman who is in so many movies, he is really cool guy.... You guys have to watch more Denzel's movies Men on fire and fallen are awesome

Is one of the coldest lines in movie history 🥶
I love when It's Always Sunny references start creeping into other reactions
The painting Eric's talking about at the end is probably Nighthawks by Edward Hopper
Oh, this was fun to watch with you guys!! Aaron has me cracking up!! Denzel at his finest!! So good! 😂 a bit of Punisher vibes!
The painting is "Nighthawks" by Edward Hopper.
When Alinka asks if there's a Mrs Robert at home Denzel is able to make his voice crack when he says "once". I've watched this movie at least six times and didn't notice that!
The original Equalizer gets blown up by the sea mine at the end of Hot Fuzz
The red haired girl Denzel talked to at the hospital is the same actress that played the girl who hired the Magnificent Seven that also starred Denzel.
You guys would love the original 1980’s TV show. The whole premise was what if James Bond retired and then just used his skill set to help the average Joe in trouble. Epic.
42:58 Nighthawks (1942) by Edward Hopper
28:50 THAT SCENE WAS LIKE! " u got balls huh..." DAMN denzel is amazing
Denzel's Equalizer is one of the very few guys in cinema i feel could give John Wick a real challenge.
Tyler rake from extraction would give him a good fight
I like Erics comparison with No Country for Old Men! Even though I think NCFOM is the better film critically speaking, Equalizer is more satisfying.
Vivian is Robert's late wife. Susan was the lady that helped out Robert to notify him who the main bad guy was.
Cool thing is you see him never being able to sleep, always out at the diner, missing something in his life. Then he helps Alina and they show him asleep in bed for the first time. Finally doing what he's supposed to be doing.
I used to watch the orignal show every day after school in the 80s. Only wish they use the theme in this somewhere.
Yep, classic 80s TV theme from Stewart Copeland (formerly of The Police).
Denzel was great in Tragedy of Macbeth for a more recent flick...
The fight choreography in Equalizer 2 will blow all of your minds!!
That Transformers clip was too perfect😂
38:08 For anyone wondering, thank you for noticing haha
Really hope y'all watch the other two . This is such a great trilogy.
I have loved all four or these. Denzel is so good in all of the movies
Can’t wait for you to react to the other two!!!
"Twenty-eight minus nine... nineteen."
It's because he indulged a bit there at the end with the corkscrew guy. He was about three seconds off his estimate. Not bad for a retiree.
Denzel is not only a cool guy but can pull off characters like this so well. You got 2 more Equalizer movies to go, look forward to your reactions. Also Man on fire is a cool Denzel movie
You guys should do Fallen, John Q, AND Remember the Titans. All great movies.
Statment: i do enjoy the meat bag that remembering HK-47 :P
the honey was heated and reduced so it was thicker to make liquid banadge, it stop bleeding when it hardens and also prevent infections.
Brilliant Movie! Great Wave Crew Reaction! What more do you need? Can't wait for reactions to Part 2 & 3! 🤘🤘🤘
There are two major "The"s here in the US. The Bureau and The Agency. And almost everyone knows that they refer to The FBI and The CIA respectively. So that bit of short dialogue reveals that Robert McCall use to work for the CIA in some capacity.
42:57 *Eric,* I believe the painting you are thinking of is _"Nighthawks"_ by _Edward Hopper._ 🤔 *EDIT:* I highly recommend *Deja Vu* with _Denzel._
I feel like I've read this comment before
@@joeno-say5504 🤭
The painting you were wondering about is probably Nighthawks by Edward Hopper.
Tait Fletcher(guy with epic beard) is one of that stuntman who is in so many movies, he is really cool guy.... You guys have to watch more Denzel's movies Men on fire and fallen are awesome
I think the painting you were thinking of at the end was maybe Nighthawks by Edward Hopper.
Great reaction as always.
For Denzel, it will always be Glory, starring Matthew Broderick. Amazing performance.
And he deservedly received an Oscar for it. An outstanding film.
1) Glory
2) Man on Fire
3) Crimson Tide
4) Book of Eli
5) The Equalizer ( trilogy )
6) American Gangster
7) The Magnificent Seven
All certified gems 💎✊🏾👍🏾
Edward Woodward (the original Robert McCall) was in a movie you referenced, Hot Fuzz ('This really hurts!').
Would love to see you guys react to The Accountant, with Ben Affleck
Yesssss finally!! Now watch the other 2 !! Guys 🎉
My favorite Denzel movies are Equalizer 2, Glory, and Malcolm X. And I think Flight is some of his best work.
No that is Martin Csokar he was Galadriels husband in Lord of the Rings it is Dominic West who plays Prince Charles in The Crown xx
