the climbing vlog style of videos is what got me hooked on the main channel so I love what you're doing on here while keeping big projects to the main channel.
I think having this channel as just an extra content channel where you can just do whatever you want without pressure of risking it on the main channel is perfect for me.
9:15 I don't want this channel to go anywhere, honestly. I first watched this channel during your first ever "All the boulders in the gym" video and those have been my favourite videos. Just you, vloging, chatting and enjoying different climbs. I'd love this channel to stay as it is.
You know sometimes you are at a party and it's great, but you nip out to the garden where everyone is smoking and it feels a bit cooler and the conversation is better and it's away from all the noise - that's this channel.
This is exactly what we want, vlog style, just climbing in the gym, chatting about how things are going etc. videos. It's great that they're easy for you to make, hopefully you enjoy the more relaxed nature of them, still being able to create content but with a lot less pressure.
These are some of the coolest boulder problems I have ever seen. It isn't often I enjoy the dynamic style but there was so much technicality I couldn't help but appreciate them.
14:05 I’m glad these videos are easy for you to make, because I find them super enjoyable to watch. I think the key to this channel is really just to keep the « intimate » feeling it already has going for it. About going to more comps, you should come to the Deadpoint comp at Beta Bloc (in Montréal) this year ✌️✌️
It wouldn't matter even if you topped nothing at a comp, no one will think you look dumb. You've done so mush for the climbing community and helped it grow, no one would have anything but respect for giving it a go! But also loving the older style climbing vids, just you, the camera and some tricky boulders!
Love these more laid-back climbing videos. I get that they may not generate the same pull as the main channel ones, but they are the reason I initially subbed. Keep posting them here as often as you feel like it. :)
I really like this channel as just being “relaxed” Magnus, “let his hair down” Magnus, “chill” Magnus. As long as the production values don’t get too high, and the content stays organic and relatively short-form, I don’t think this channel really needs a “direction”. On the other hand, please don’t upload just for the sake of uploading or maintaining a schedule. Those kinds of vlogs become soulless pretty quickly.
I love these old school boulder-vlog style videos. They are what made me fall in love with your channel and you as a content creator in the first place. Please keep making them. I wish you all the best Magnus.
On competing more: Loved the comp video you did with Adam Ondra, the recent one in Japan, and would love to see more. Don't worry about your competitiveness, most of us who are watching feel the exact same way and also struggle with just "having fun". It's one of the many things that makes you so real and relatable.
I really like how this second channel is looking. Most important things to me is that it is organic, low effort and minimum editing feel. Whether its reaction content, vloging or climbing, Its all nice and appreciated!
I think the balance of maintaining relevance on UA-cam and making the climbing vlog/slower moving old school content is really hard to strike. I think you’re doing a great job on both channels!! Really appreciate you as a creator
I think a good balance between climbing/vlog-style videos, behind-the-scenes footage from other videos, and some footage that didn't make it into the final edits would be great. Including a few local comps from other countries could also be interesting. Ultimately, this channel should always remain your comfy spot instead of adding additional pressure.🤔
One ov my favorite oldschool vids was the middle east climbing vlogs i think you went out ther 2 or 3 times. Travel-y climbing stuff g9t me hooked. It was like a "look, you can visit this random country and climb some great routes" sort of feel, for me at least
These climbing vlog videos are how I started watching your channel. This is my favorite content from you. Also bringing Pete back and setting some routes for each other was also super fun to watch.
This “raw Magnus” + behind the scenes (when occasions allow for it) is a great format in my opinion! I wouldn’t mind some longer videos as well tbh! (50ish mins, few edits, just looking at all the contextual content that doesn’t make it into the main channel)
Super glad you decided to pull the trigger on the competition in Japan, I enjoyed that video almost more than anything you've put together in the last few years, great job all around on that one
I absolutely love the vlog type videos like this and what you did a lot in the beginning on your main channel. Honestly even just seeing you throw yourself at harder problems failing over and over, or just flashing easy problems, it’s super entertaining and I feel like I can take away a lot of little things and technique. Don’t stop!!
Gotta say I love it when gyms share some of their coolest climbs on instagram, especially when you've been there at least once and can relate to the specific angles
For me the best of this videos is to see your learning process and your mental voice like “I do not want to commit because looks like I’m going to fail with a split “. Thanks for not showing just the one you top
I get the wanting to do well when competing, but as an avid viewer of your videos, all I care about is that you have fun and stay safe. The rest of it falls into place, because of how genuine you are and the true passion you have for the sport. There is no better content, than watching someone do what they love! All the best to you in the future, we appreciate you!!!
I think a mix of reaction videos and climbing/bouldering videos are perfect for this channel. Your assessment of other climbing videos is also very informative and fun to watch.
Hey Magnus. I noticed you talking about the pressure and the fears you have about your performance in comps. As a therapist, I've noticed that many of my athlete clients that compete deal with similar things. What has helped many of them isn't saying, "I should just not care," or "I should just stop thinking this way," but rather accepting the fact that they do feel and think the ways they do. Acceptance of the pressure, acceptance of the fears, and acceptance of the thoughts helps them investigate what it is about their performance that is really important to them. "Why do I think this way? What's really at stake here? What am I hoping will happen and what am I hoping to avoid?" All of these questions can help them understand themselves and their experience a little better, allowing their core fears to become conscious. Once they understand what their thoughts and fears are telling them, they can see those things as merely thoughts and feelings and can choose how to engage with them rather than believe in them wholeheartedly. Many of my clients actually learn how to transmute the fear they experience into energy to aid their performance.
to be honest - i want to see whatever you feel like doing, if youre into it its much more enjoyable to watch as well. I love the oldschool vlogging style, i also like a reaction vid from time to time (especially the one about the solo with Alex Honnold was pretty interesting with all the behind the scenes info) or if you just wanna chill out and do a Q&A or something that would also be great. At the end of the day, we are watching because of you and this feels more like just hanging out with you than the very produced videos on the main channel.
Love this open, easygoing content. Not stylised, scripted, overblown or click-baity. It saddens me that so many of my favourite channels are forced, like a hamster in a wheel, to keep chasing algorithms and stuff. I love it when content creators just do what makes them happy, not what meets the metrics. Please just keep doing stuff that you're happy with, regardless of keeping the content overlords happy

Love the climbing vlogs, I only realized when you said it. They are so real! It feels like you were just chatting with us, it's almost like we were there, having the session with you. There are no poses, no exaggeration, just doing what you like and sharing it with us.
Please keep this channel for as long as you have fun with these climbing vlogs! Whenever im feeling somewhat lazy to hit the gym or workout I come watch this channel. No fluff, no clickbait, no new shit, just the good old magnus climbing hard and saying whatever comes to his mind. Im always in a better mood to go workout after I watch videos like this one! I understand the direction you took the main channel and I dont think you did anything wrong. Im just glad you are keeping this one up as well!
Magnus, your old videos where you climb and talk to us like this is is what got me into climbing. I'm coming up on one year soon, and I'll have about 140 sessions. You got me hooked! I think its cool you really want to make content that your audience enjoys, I obviously love these videos but I loved your reaction videos too!
I understand the nerves for the comps completely, but honestly that recent japan comp video was one of my favourites. Just watching you climb lots of different boulders and it also having a competitive side to it just made it even better. Would love to see more videos like that it was truly a spectacular watch.
I like this channel, but that doesn’t mean your other channel isn’t great too. I’m impressed with how you keep the creativity going. I don’t think you would have been able to introduce climbing to so many new people without your main channel. So, yes to both!!!
Miss these type of videos. Glad you created this second channel and got some help with editing. I think besides pleasing the viewers, you should do what you enjoy. We also enjoy watching you enjoying yourself, genuinely.
These "chill" videos of you chatting and climbing are such a comfort for me. I moved to a small city in Northern Canada and no longer have access to any climbing facilities. This style of video makes me feel like I'm back at the gym climbing with my friends. (Also gets me stoked to go climb some boulders outside)
For videos where it's your easiest to make, these are easily my favorite type of videos that you make! They're the ones that got me into your channel, just you climbing and casually talking from time to time!
Magnus! you have to remember for comps you're skill level is still insane so, to the average viewer and climber (like myself) we're still super impressed so I know I enjoy watching them regardless of how you do because I know its better than what I can do haha. I don't know does anyone else agree?
I loved seeing you climb with others that are less experienced, because they seemed to be really motivated & the chemistry was great. Really enjoy the vlog style climbing videos, it's what I watch most on your channels
The future of this channel; I'd love for it to be a climbing channel. Do anything climbing related - reactions, outdoor- and indoor-bouldering/climbing, working out sessions, be the amazing dude that you are. I started bouldering (indoors) about 10 months ago and you and the eric carlsson crew has been a major source of insperation/tips and tricks. Thanks
It is always great to see you on this channel. Feels more chill, like when I climb with my friends. Less pressure, more stories. Keep it up! Ps. Yes we would love to see you do more lead!
I gotta be honest, I think this style of "just a climbing session"-VLOG is perfect for your secondary channel. I think a lot of people (myself included) really enjoy seeing someone well routined do a bunch of routes. Personally, I love seeing the problem solving and technique that goes into the movement and it inspires me to get out there and try it for myself. Don't know what other people think, but in my opinion, this exact style of video is perfect for the channel and is what I would want to see on here. P.S. Would love to see more from this gym in particular. The routes are super interesting!
Hello Magnus! You mentioned it might be hard to make videos at local comps due to the loud music. Im an audio engineer over in the US and if you ever need someone to remove the music from the background of your mic audio for a video feel free to hit me up (at absolutely no charge of course). I would love to see you go to more competitions, so anything I can do to help would be my pleasure! 👍🏻👍🏻
The climbing vlogs style is by far my favorite! I really enjoy watching you enjoy boulders and just chat. Id like that to be the future of this channel.
REALLY REALLY REALLY like this channel as it currently is! Super natural and sincere. Also like how you are talking with the viewer. Feels like going on a climbing session with you. Keep this up Magnus!!
It's a strange one to imagine. Despite his physique definitely looking more like a boulderer, Magnus was primarily a lead climber. I guess the combined format could suit him well.
This style video is what kept me captivated with the original channel. I think running events with your experiences would be a great way to get the feeling of comp again with out some of your reservations
This type of chill, chatty bouldering video is my favorite. I did quite enjoy you trying out that competition, but you don't need to seek them out that much, though if you find one once in a while and feel like it, great! What i enjoyed about it wasn't about you tryharding a competition, but rather about you exploring and trying it out.
I like how you kept the fails on the yellow boulder on the video. You can tell you get frustrated. Something we can all relate to! But you keep trying. Something we can all aspire to! This is the humble nordic man we all enjoy watching. You don't need to be perfect. It's ok to fall down. Just as long as you get your butt back up there and try again. That's life!
+1 !! These old school climbing video's are the best, and they dont have to be all hard bouldering. Magnus just talking about the movement on boulders is so interesting
4:44 good for you man. knowing your weaknesses and admitting and reflecting them is a skill most people are missing. i know it’s only the first step, but it makes you very sympathetic.
100% love the chill climbing vlog style. I wasn't fully onboard with this channel being just a react channel, but I had to sub once the old style climbing vlogs came out again. I really enjoy just hearing you break down climbing beta, talking about your own progress (on climbing/youtube/etc.), and hearing your self-reflective thoughts. Feels like your personality comes out a bit more naturally in these videos than in the main channel videos and I really vibe with it. Hopefully you enjoy making these videos too, keep up the great work Magnus!
I love the mixture of "gimmicky," and pure climbing. Also, and seeing you tying things that most of us don't have an opportunity to do outside of the climbing gym is rad, as well as watching the climbing specific stuff. Thanks for sharing!
Classic Magnus 'climbing and talking' video. Love it but it ended far too soon. Only 14 minutes 😟 I could have watched an hour. Looks like you may still be feeling that tendonitis though, so I'll let you off
This is exactly what I find highly entertaining. Just a vlog about bouldering and lead climbing, maybe also do some collabs with other climbers in the same style? Just seeing how you approach stuff and solve it is super helpful!

Most important scene 7:54
This style is awesome. It’s nice having the duality of the main channel and more wild ideas, and then just the og and calm climbing videos.
can we have a daily magnus channel? 🤣🤣
+1 !! These old school climbing video's are the best, and they dont have to be all hard bouldering. Magnus just talking about the movement on boulders is so interesting
That's how he started. Daily vlogs
4:44 good for you man. knowing your weaknesses and admitting and reflecting them is a skill most people are missing. i know it’s only the first step, but it makes you very sympathetic.
We want more videos with Marta
100% love the chill climbing vlog style. I wasn't fully onboard with this channel being just a react channel, but I had to sub once the old style climbing vlogs came out again. I really enjoy just hearing you break down climbing beta, talking about your own progress (on climbing/youtube/etc.), and hearing your self-reflective thoughts. Feels like your personality comes out a bit more naturally in these videos than in the main channel videos and I really vibe with it. Hopefully you enjoy making these videos too, keep up the great work Magnus!
Magnus you should teach magnus carlsen to rock climb
100% agree, would be awesome to see the nr 1 Chess player of our generation climb! (also it's Carlsen*)
@@noone-ld7ptthank you for the correction
really you corrected carlsen, buy not magus
@@wyattmadsonYou’re a grammatical hero wyatt
that would be amazing!!
I love the mixture of "gimmicky," and pure climbing. Also, and seeing you tying things that most of us don't have an opportunity to do outside of the climbing gym is rad, as well as watching the climbing specific stuff. Thanks for sharing!
I would love to see more videos with female climbers! On your channel and UA-cam generally it's sad to see how little the women are put forward...
I like this channel, bouldering, talking, doing the things that you like in a chill fashion. i just want to see a Magnus in the wild.
Classic Magnus 'climbing and talking' video. Love it but it ended far too soon. Only 14 minutes 😟 I could have watched an hour. Looks like you may still be feeling that tendonitis though, so I'll let you off
i could watch these weekly. sooo much fun magnus. just you climbing and being super authentic. love it!
This is exactly what I find highly entertaining. Just a vlog about bouldering and lead climbing, maybe also do some collabs with other climbers in the same style? Just seeing how you approach stuff and solve it is super helpful!
My favs remain your old outdoor climbing videos, Kalymnos, Spain, DWS, Jordan and the coaching of Cecilia on outdoor lead climb
