Tbh, I actually appreciate the difference in height of the two counters. Lower for chopping and cooking, higher for typing and such. Really liked this build.
The fact they fit a shower into this truck is just awesome. It doesn't look like much when you first see it, but it has all the amenities you could ask for.
This seems like one of the most simple basic builds that I've seen and it's still incredible it's so cool it kind of reminds me of like a modern mid-century type of build
Two smart, talented kids that seem to have their life together with goals that they're actually MAKE happen! Easy to talk to (I've seen hundreds of interviews where all they say is "super" "um" & "like") & SO refreshing to listen to this younger couple speak with ease & knowledge. GREAT interview, GREAT build & GREAT tour! I don't think they'll have a problem selling this at all. Best wishes on your future endeavors! I already followed you guys & didn't even know it.
Thank you so much for sharing this build!! I'm researching now for my box truck build. I love how cozy this home is and made me feel young and free just watching this video. Thank you for sharing what the products were for the floor, shower, and heat. I LOVE how the wood is everywhere including the doors.
I just had to say that I LOVE this build! If I had the money, I would buy it in a heartbeat! It's even close to my favorite color, mint! Box trucks just make perfect sense to me, even though I was surprised to see that you were able to get a bathroom and kitchen in a smaller box! My one question is whether the lounge/ dining area makes into a second sleeping area like a sorta bunkbed.
like that the 2 of you are making a business out of building out box truck and van apartments that's a really good idea especially being able to travel around and do it virtually anywhere you are just have the box truck owner buy the materials for the set up and charge them for the man hours or how ever you decide to charge it, it's especially cool side gig
Nice to know of builders that will be on the east coast. Will be looking for a builder in a year from now the closer to my retirement 🎉! Love the idea of a small box truck like this for one.
I actually love this one.. and favor all time with the lyft bed for the fact so there's a living room area at bottom instead transitioning to a bed. good point with the induction stove hideaway, because you have not just a kitchen but a bedroom counter and looks spacious eitherway.
Love this, so cool how this build is done. If I had the money for it, I'd buy it too. I love the whole set up, it's spacious enough as well for simple living , plus have a hidden already made bed and dining/living area and plenty of storage, plus a shower (always still good to have a shower of sort on hand in case of any shut downs, etc, especially with all that's been going on these last few years and prices for showers even at truck stopsbgone up, it's always good to be as self sufficient possible) 😉👍 but great build in such a space, I have a full sized van with a topper at at least 66 square feet to do my van conversion build just from behind the driver's and passenger's front seats to the cargo doors and from the driver's and passenger's sides inside the van, not counting the cab area. I'm almost halfway through my build, and will do my best to make good use of every space possible in the midst as well while planning to make good space to walk around, stand, etc. Anyway, thanks Jarrod for sharing this build. I'm always trying to keep up with watching your videos with all that's going on around me these days as I had mentioned previously about my dad. Above all, I'm doing my best in all that's happening while still trying to work on my van conversion build too in the midst. Love ya Bro, take care and be safe too. See ya on your next videos 🤗💖😉👍
These two are just too damn cute together. They should create action figures in their likeness and market adventure accessories for kids at home to outfit their 1/24 scale vans at home. Stellar build. Lots of time and talent put in. Well done. Will be looking out for the 1/24 dolls and doll related accessories!
I can see where you're schedule has to be absolutely packed. I've seen this one already but I rely on your thoroughness-osity to show the best of shows... and I know this show just happened. So like you better edit and be first to show or you're in the coveted "second place"... you did a better job than the first ones tho.. keep up the work J-man
Very very awesome!! Love the couple, they are very adorable! Love their dreams about the farm with tiny homes etc.... Hope they make their dreams come true. Which I have no doubt they will! The box truck is great. I love it! Very nicely done! And a BATHROOM!!! SO VERY IMPORTANT!! I DON'T CARE HOW SMALL, AS LONG AS IT'S PRIVATE !! Not sure if I care so much about 🚿 shower but a private place to potty is VERY important! Love the portable stove too! Enjoy that counter top space for sure. Cheers!
Sunbrella is what's used on sailboats for the dodgers, bimini tops, sail covers, outside cushions, ect. If it can handle being in the tropical sun with saltwater spray on it all the time, it can handle this.
Dude - I LOVE your channel ! You consistently hook us up with the real deal in every category of builds and products and appliances. THEN you explain why or get the interviewee to do so. You are a righteous producer ! Kudos 👍🏽
I’m a Six Foot Six Inch tall guy and for 25 Years of My Life My Accommodation (Bedroom, Study, Lounge, Bathroom) had a Six Foot Eight Inch Ceiling and apart from offsetting the Ceiling Lights so that they were close to the side Walls I never had an issue with Height. In fact now that I got 12 Foot Ceilings I miss the Closeness that the lower Ceiling gave Me.
Box trucks are such a cool idea for stealth set ups with great amounts of space and perfect dimensions without being too much to handle. I do wonder how good the vehicle is for fuel economy for something of this size or if it requires a cdl license for the weight of the vehicle.
From what I've seen of these in uhaul fleets, they are usually 9,900 gvwr which means no CDL. The 6.0L gas v8 is not great, but considering the nose cap extending the front to meet the top of the cab and the body not sticking out very far, they probably get 10- 14mpg.
@@harryandlyss Hello from Maine. I have a box truck and I think they are the only way to go. You are correct in stating that building with right angles makes a build go quicker and easier . I also have a Chevy Express 14' box with dual wheels in the back. You did a sweet job. clean lines.
Wow! Love the shower! And, Jarrod, you're the only person I've ever heard who knows what a water heater is. A WATER HEATER. Not a HOT ater heater. How often does one heat one's hot water? Pretty silly
im excited for you guys to convert a brand new brightdrop ev600. i know its gonna be a rare gem and the range is only 300 miles max but most vans avg about 350-400 miles per tank anyways.... but imagine 900w solar being able to charge it.
I live in North Carolina and Winthrop to me is the university in Rock Hill, SC, just south of Charlotte. I thought she was a home girl. Meanwhile I live in a house and I take military showers. There is no need to have the water on while lathering and washing.
Great truck build. Be mindful of the one wheels. They have continued to make their boards less and less repairable (only just by them at unreasonable cost). The new board if you unplug the battery it bricks the board. Check out Louis Rossmann channel that covers some of these issues.
Still waiting when people starts to talk about watt hours instead of amp hours. Amp hours doesn't tell you much if you don't know the voltage. I think it's safe to assume when people are talking about amp hours it's always 12 volts. 24 or 48 volts would be more efficient though.
There is an old farm house in Hampden, Maine , for sale. At the moment they have horses there. Are you selling the box truck ? I work near the farm house.
I imagine the bed isn't THAT heavy that it would make the vehicle "top heavy". Probably a lightweight mattress that's just a bit bigger than a twin & some plywood with the happy Jack mechanics I wouldn't think would be over a 150lbs maybe....besides they have the over the cab storage to level it out. I'd guess the set of golf clubs & whatever else they have stored over the cab would weigh just as much as the bed therefore distributing the weight fairly even. These trucks were build to carry heavy loads. But as I said, I wouldn't think the weight of the bed would be enough to make a truck of this size topple over.
@@paige6028 Although they were built for "heavy things" it was never meant to be carried at the top of the van, they're "by design" already top heavy! They should definitely be consulting with an engineer to the answer this question, better safe than sorry!
So....I don't understand? 🤔 1) why would it be illegal to sleep/live in your van or truck? 2) if it iS illegal, then why are people doing this? 3) Where is it always legal?
Kerosene use in a diesel heater is not recommended. The lubricity of Kerosene us a lit less than diesel fuel and will shorten the life of the fuel pump. Do your research.
In some places it’s not allowed. Cops typically don’t care but when they are called they have to do something about it. So mostly it’s “hiding” from those to make the call
*Why are the kitchen cabinets so tall???* *And NO, if you have door's and windows in a box truck, it is NOT stealth!!* And "stealth" is overrated, sorry.*
