      You're objectively wrong. A plugin can do it with no issue. You just need a PA to match them. You know, a starter can't do 0-60.

      My guitar teacher had an Ampeg stack and for me a 60's Super reverb. His guitar was a late 60's Gold Les Paul deluxe and the guitar I got to use was a Rick 360. I went and bought a 74 hardtail Strat once I learned enough to get my own. But You're right Thats how we did things like that. Now I got an 80's Boogie and a 90's Pro Tube Twin that both would be heard in this room. Loud is EASY. Getting to play loud ,that's a different story.

      I don't want all those kids trying to find a good vintage Marshall stack and driving the prices up. I want to get them myself! I guess I'm doing OK, with four 100 watt JMPs so far.

    • @vkuolema79
      @vkuolema79 2 роки тому

      @Richard Phillips the joy is not there with digital, get a 30 watt vox amp and crank it up and you will start to feel the joy and response from your fingers, even better with a plexi with bridged input. No pedals! you just need your fingers.!

    • @vkuolema79
      @vkuolema79 2 роки тому

      @Richard Phillips VOXs don't have negative feedback loop , so they run out in the wild. Fenders have a high negative feedback so it "compresses" the sound. to avoid distortion. Give it a try. try a hardwired AC30 without reverb and you'll be game

    Totally inspiring playing and sound Johan. I know the Les Paul is usually your home ground, but this playing and sound was phenomenal. LOVE the way you demonstrate the equation of tone as coming from the guitar, amp, pick ups, speakers and the relationship they have with what they bring out of you as a player. You never cease to impress. Astonishing sir.

    Finally a solution to late-night bedroom playing on this channel.

    Nevermind the amps where you get the hearing protection? I can give them to my neighbours for Christmas. When I used to play thru an ac30 before getting jcm 800 they said “can you get that bloody guitar any louder", didn't want to disappoint them so got a jcm. Can't hear them banging at door now :-P

    Real Rockers don’t wear hearing protection!
    We do however say “ what? and “huh?” a lot! Lol

    I ended up with a 1968 arena Marshall that was used by the rock band Nazareth. I got it from guitarist Manny Charlton back around 2015. Manny told me that this is the same amp that created the intro for the Please Don't Judas Me song (it was an unintentional feedback from the guitar which he went on and recorded)
    The funny story he told me was that he one day decided to play his guitar in his home studio which was detached from his house. As he was playing he said it was getting cold. He stopped playing and that is when he realized he blew the windows out.

    FML, and I'm struggling to get decent sound as quiet as possible with my 1x6" cab :)
    Did you measure db level in the room?

    • @vapporiesat3125
      @vapporiesat3125 6 років тому +8

      just blast it. if the cops show up, blast a little less next time. if they still show up, blast a little less. keep it going till they dont show up anymore. please dont smoke weed while doing this volume adjustments.

    • @wolfey4138
      @wolfey4138 6 років тому +1

      Be sure to blast it after the cops leave as well... for good measure.

    • @JohanSegeborn
      @JohanSegeborn  6 років тому +8

      Hi, I didn’t measure it but I think it was around 130-135dB. 5 fullstacks with JBLs or V30 would be 140dB though, so that’s the next project ;-)

    Great vid. Reminds me of Iron maiden, priest, saxon circa 1979/80 in a packed Manchester apollo. Dry ice, patchouli oil, headbanging and the old PA systems that were lots of black boxes stacked to the ceiling swaying dangerously
